Why is having a man so important for some women? And why is having a woman so important for some men? How is it that, some individuals allow society to dictate their status to equaling one’s importance to another half? When people are made whole? God did not make men and women half beings to complete another half. However, some people find that being single is the biggest curse since the creation of a girdle.

Having a mate is wonderful and love created divine so awesome but there are some steps that we as individuals should take in order to grow into being with another person. The biggest step being, getting to know and love thyself first!

In order to be comfortable in your “SINGLE” status you must first have the confidence and security within yourself that no other man and/or woman can taint.

Some men and women hate being solo and I find this to be a sad state of competition.

Join me tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via “Conversations Live” at 8:00 PM as I discuss the joys of being Single, Sexy and Solo.

In the meantime, sound off on this topic and access the show here!

Akemi disapproves and “a little child will lead them”…

Monifahs_daughter

Yes I’ve declared dropping reality television programs because of the ghetto garbage being displayed but must admit how I’ve grown to love R&B Diva’s on TV1.

In a recent episode as a apart of the shows grand finale, Monifah (one of the Diva’s) who has come out as openly gay on the show, gets engaged to her longtime partner Terez. I love them as a couple and love it even more that Monifah’s daughter, Akemi disapproves of their relationship and is extremely vocal about it. Even telling her mother in one episode how “it’s an abomination“.

Monifah respects her daughter’s opinion as being that of her religious beliefs however; it’s really about her daughter shining a light of truth on her mother’s lifestyle.

The Word of God is extremely clear in stating: The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.

Monifah was disappionted when she shared her exciting news to Akemi about being engaged and Akemi didn’t share in her excitement. We’ll have to tune-in for the upcoming episodes to find out if Akemi will attend her mother’s wedding to Terez, she told her mother Monifah “I’ll let you know if I attend your wedding“.

Black So-called Celebrities Come Out in Support of Paula Deen

Paula Deen Signs Copies Of "Paula's Southern Cooking Bible"

Actress Stacey Dash, NFL player Kris Jenkins and civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton are among the black notables who have come forward in support of embattled tv chef Paula Deen.

Deen, 66, was dropped by the Food Network on Friday after Deen readily admitted she used racial slurs and cracked racist jokes about black people in a videotaped deposition.

Two other Deen sponsors, QVC and Smithfield Foods, are quietly shelving the celebrity chef while they await the outcome of a million-dollar sexual harassment lawsuit filed against Deen’s brother, Bubba Hiers, by a former employee.

“A lot of us have in the past said things we have regretted saying years ago,” Sharpton told gossip website TMZ. “You cannot deal with what is fair or not fair until we see an outcome of the present circumstances she is accused of, not something that happened 20 years ago.”

In a tweet sent out from her Twitter account on Monday, Stacey Dash wrote: “God does everything for a reason. “@Paula_Deen Only God can judge your heart BTW my daughter loves your show (only way she can get me to cook)”

And Kris Jenkins, former all-pro defensive tackle for the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers, also spoke out in support of Deen.

“The lady was a sweetheart to me; [her] making a mistake I’m not going to be the one to make a big deal of it,” said Jenkins in an interview with Metro New York.

Jenkins continued: “I got to see her heart and for me, I don’t look at the ‘N word’ as a bad word like that in this year—in 2013. The reason is because I think the ‘N word’ is more a test of my inner strength as to how strong am I to even be bothered by the word or not.”

“When a Man Loves a Woman” Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

And no I’m not talking about the song which was originally recorded by Percy Sledge in 1966, or the 1994 movie that chronicles one woman’s (Meg Ryan) alcoholism and her husband’s (Andy Garcia) efforts to help her.

What I’m actually talking about is, knowing when someone is so in-sync with you, your hearts will surely beat as one. And although every individual may have their own definition of love, how a man loves a woman can be an experience of our own realities.

When he looks for opportunities to make you happy, which goes far beyond romance. It’s the type of love that grows deeper because of knowing each other on an intimate level. For me, it means that he is tuned in enough to step up and support me when I need it, often without me having to ask. He just knows who he needs to be for me in order for me to be happy. A real man’s love is just like that for the woman in his life. The woman who makes him happy therefore he goes above & beyond his call of duty to always put her first.

Can you tell when a man loves his woman?

Tune into “Conversations Of A Sistah” on Conversations Live” at 8:00 P.M. tonight, as I explore “When a man Loves a woman”.
