America’s #1 Dad, Bill Cosby Charged With Sexual Assault.

The comedian was charged today for drugging and sexually assaulting a woman at his home 12 years ago — the first criminal charges brought against the comedian out of the torrent of allegations that destroyed his good-guy image as America’s #1 Dad.

This case sets the stage for perhaps the biggest Hollywood celebrity trial of this era and could send the 78-year-old “pudding pop” comedian to prison in the twilight of his life and barrier-breaking career.

Prosecutors accused him of rendering former Temple University employee Andrea Constand unable to resist, by plying her with pills and wine, then penetrating her with his fingers without her consent, when she was unconscious or unaware of what was happening.

She was “frozen, paralyzed, unable to move,” Montgomery County District Attorney-elect Kevin Steele said in announcing the charges. He said it is unclear what type of pills Constand was given, but he noted that Cosby has admitted giving Quaaludes to women he wanted to have sex with.

Cosby acknowledged under oath a decade ago that he had sexual contact with Constand but said it was consensual. Calls to his attorneys were not immediately returned.

He is to be arraigned this afternoon on a charge of aggravated indecent assault, punishable by five to 10 years behind bars and a $25,000 fine.

So….Not ‘One’ was Indicted For Sandra Bland’s Jailhouse Death?

chi-ct-sandra-bland-ct0030015155-20150720

Sandra Bland was pulled over on July 10 by a Texas state trooper for making an improper lane change. Dashcam video showed their interaction which quickly became confrontational and she was arrested for assault. Y’all know the story!

Bland was taken in handcuffs to the county jail in nearby Hempstead, about 50 miles northwest of Houston, and remained there when she couldn’t raise $500 for bail.

She was discovered dead in her jail cell three days later, hanging from a cell partition with a plastic garbage bag used as a ligature around her neck.

Like the family’s attorney Cannon Lambert said on Monday, “the grand jury’s decision is consistent with what the family believes has so far been an attempt by authorities to cover up the events which took place after Bland’s arrest”.

The consistency of their decision is also unwavering with the open murders of black men and women at the hands of authorities during slavery and the civil rights era, only then they hung us from trees.

In today’s systematic society of justification for killing men and women of color, they’re hanging us from jail cells and killing us in the street behind a badge, their authority and the guise of self-defense and fear.

Until there is Justice, there will never be any peace!

Russell Simmons Pens Open Letter To Donald Trump

Russel_Donald

A real friend will always tell you the truth and that’s exactly what Russell Simmons did when he penned an open letter to Donald Trump.

Over 30 plus years you have been an amazing friend; endorsing my books, coming to my shows, flying me on your planes, your helicopters, and even allowing my family members and myself to stay in your house in Florida many times. So, it kinda pains me to know that my public statements about your candidacy have strained or ruined our friendship. However, the fact is, what’s at stake is bigger than us.

Trump has been sharing his racist opinions on every subject and leading in the polls in his bid toward the White House.

The self-made millionaire has however, set off a fire storm of controversy with his hateful comments regarding Muslims and Jews. Therefore Russell Simmons stood his position by openly and publicly putting his friend in his place. Simmons wanted it to be outwardly known that he is not in agreement with Donald and his prejudice rhetoric. In addition Simmons stressed how he would NOT support his friend if he initially wins the republican candidacy for the White House bid as a result.

It’s sadly enough, some Americans believe President Barack Obama is Muslim and for this fact, he’s somehow aiding and abetting these terrorist threats toward the United States with no plan of action. And with “The Donald” spewing all of this hate in an intolerant tone, it is no doubt setting the tone for a possible race war.

Chef Richard L. Austin, Tonight… on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Chef_Richard_Austin

It’s not uncommon to be in touch with my high school classmates, especially with the popularity of various social media options that we have today, which makes it all possible. I get excited to see and hear, when so many of my classmates are successful and doing well.

Like Richard L. Austin (pictured above). He was the heartthrob of almost every female in my class at Passaic County Technical and Vocational High School in Wayne, NJ. Richie (as he was known), was handsome, athletic, buff and charming. He was so cool, very polite but in a way, he made me nervous; I was a bit intimidated by his charisma.

Today, he is known as “Chef Austin“, a professional chef who specializes in Southern American/International cuisine and has been certified by the “American Culinary Federation“. Chef Austin also is owner and proprietor of his own business: “Austin’s Catering“.

Educated at Brunswick College in Brunswick, Georgia, Chef Austin has much to add to his accredited achievements, having appeared on The Savannah morning news; Brunswick News 6, Coastal Illustrated Magazine, Coastal Cuisine and Elegant Island magazine. Winner of over twenty five (25) culinary competitions, and now manufacturer of his very own seasonings, Chef Austin is truly accomplished.

Join me tonight at 6:30 p.m. EST on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via blog talk radio, as I catch up with this culinary genius and high school classmate, to discuss how he’s manufactured his own seasonings and the secret to his success.

All “Conversation links” make it possible to access the show!

See you on the air but in the meantime sound off here!
