Black-Women-Friends-1

How are we being influenced in today’s society? Why are some women trying to live out the fantasy’s of characters such as; Olivia Pope and Mary Jane Paul? Why is it that sex sells while morality and virtue are frowned upon?

Why are young women quoting “Drunk in love” by Beyoncé instead or quoting words of empowerment by Maya Angelou? Who and what is influencing your legacy? For that which is premeditated will eventually give birth to your visions.

Join me tonight at 8:00 PM on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via “Conversations Live” as I kick off Women’s History month by discussing legacy’s that will live on and those powerful women who’ve influenced mine.

Gabrielle Union Says Her Parents’ Divorce Helped Her Be A Good Stepmom To Dwayne Wade’s Kids

Gabrielle+Union+Gabrielle+Union+Dwyane+Wade+1fzPUh5WAJ5l

I think Gabrielle Union is a bit delirious and the talking too much is giving her away. Gabby said, coming from a product of divorced parents, she’s well prepared to be stepmother to her fiancé Dwayne Wade’s boys.

I’m lucky that I come from a family that went through divorce. My parents were married for 30 years before they got divorced and I’m sure after 30 years there was bitterness, anger, and resentment and fear and all sorts of things.

But I don’t know [for sure] because they never made it our issue, they handled their divorce and our subsequent transition into a blended family with grace and dignity and respect and always put us first and didn’t involve us. So I’m lucky that i can just mirror what my parents did and always put the kids first.

I guess this includes Dwayne Wade’s newest addition as well.

The “Being Mary Jane” actress appears to be so happy at this point in her personal life and career.

A Modern Day Lynching… Tonight on Conversations Of A Sistah

fj_carter12-21-2010

By popular demand, I will resume last week’s subject this week…”A modern day Lynching” on “Conversations Of A Sistah” tonight.

Lynching is murder by mob, often by hanging, but also by a burning at the stake or shooting, in order to punish an alleged transgressor, or to intimidate, control, or otherwise manipulate a specific sector of a population.

Racism in America has set the scene for many injustices since the founding fathers birthed the notion of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The killing of young black men in our society seem to be a modern day lynching however, racism has taken a seat to a more pressing problem in America: a broken justice system.

Some people might have expected to see an increase in the overt lynching and murder of Black men by white extremists under the Obama administration due to the backlash of white right-wing conservative resentment.

In the recent events taken place in Florida, the stand your ground laws ought to be called a Right to Kill for White People laws because that is precisely what they are. Self-defense means nothing when a black person asserts that right. How do black people defend themselves when the justice system is arrayed against them?

Michael Dunn, the Georgia man who shot and killed 17-year-old Jordan Davis after an argument over loud music in Jacksonville, was found guilty on 3 counts of 2nd-degree murder and 1 count of throwing a deadly missile.

But the Florida jury deadlocked on the 1st degree murder count – even after the judge ordered them to deliberate further, declared a mistrial on the 1st degree murder count.

Join me tonight at 8:00 P.M. on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via “Conversations Live” as I address many of such injustices as being Modern Day lynchings.

I will be taking your phone calls on this subject at 1-347-426-3645. Please press “1′ to speak with the host.

Steve Harvey’s ex-wife brands him a Bigamist!

Steve_Harvey

“Steve Harvey owes me $50 million, and I want him arrested for violating my civil rights!” 53-year-old Mary fumed to The ENQUIRER.

“I want him charged with a constitutional rights violation, falsifying documents, perjury, contempt of court, embezzlement, extortion and collusion. “For what he’s done to me, I want to see Steve Harvey behind bars!”

Harvey, 56, tied the knot with Mary, his second wife, in 1996. At the time, he was starring in the WB sitcom “The Steve Harvey Show,” which aired until 2002.

The couple’s son Wynton was born in 1997. They divorced in November 2005, citing “irreconcilable differences,” but Mary claims Harvey was a serial womanizer whose adultery drove her to a mental breakdown. Mary also insists Harvey – host of TV’s syndicated “Steve Harvey” talk show and a weekday radio show – cheated on her with his current wife Marjorie. He wed Marjorie (known as Lady heroine) in June 2007, and Mary claims that makes Harvey a bigamist!

“The judge said our divorce would be contingent upon the division of community assets, but that never happened,” she explained.

According to Mary, that means their divorce is not final, “and Steve is married to both me and his new wife.”

Oh lord, I don’t know if Mary envy’s Steve’s success or can’t get over their divorce, either way, for the love of God, she need to move on!!!

It takes ‘TWO’ to tango…So why do women ‘WAR’ with the other-woman, when her man cheats? Tonight on Conversations Of A Sistah

knife-fight-women-fight-620x350

It takes two to tango…and two to cheat, yet some women solely blame the other woman when the infidelity has been exposed. Especially since both parties are equally responsible and all matters should be focused on the betrayer, the one who is actually in the relationship. So why are women so quick to attack and lay fault on the other woman?

And don’t get me wrong, the other woman, his mistress and/or ‘side piece’ should bear some responsibility as well, especially if she knew the man was married or in a relationship. Although it can be argued that she doesn’t deserve the majority of the blame, it does actually take two to tango. Yet the man will take pleasure in knowing women are squabbling over him.

So why do women feel compelled to battle and be hostile towards the other woman because of her man’s cheating, whorish ass ways?

Join me tonight at 8:00 P.M. on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via “Conversation’s Live” as I answer the question: “Why do women ‘WAR’ with the other woman, when her man cheats?

You can access the show here! In the meantime, sound off on this Conversation until we meet on the air!!
