With cameras filming his every move, even his airplane, Mr. Trump arrived in Washington a day before he is sworn in, appearing at a luncheon with supporters at the Trump International Hotel, where he praised the collective I.Q. of his cabinet members.

The president-elect and vice president-elect laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery, then it was on to the Lincoln Memorial for the concert that opens the Inaugural festivities.

In the meantime, 63 groups and organizations are registered with permits to march on Washington tomorrow.

Hate, Homophobia or the Word of God? Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

hate_homophobia_wog_cos_jan_2017-2We’re back!!! And tonight’s “Conversation” is going to be hot !!!

As we discuss how more than 1 million people watched Kim Burrell rail against “that perverted homosexual spirit” in a controversial sermon clip that led to the gospel singer getting pulled from a performance on “Ellen” and facing ongoing backlash from LGBT advocates.

She had been named a co-honoree at BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards, but the organization uninvited her due to the recent remarks. Also, her radio show — airing out of Texas Southern University — has been canceled.

Burrell’s two-minute clip of her message, filmed on a phone and posted on YouTube, shows Burrell describing sex acts and saying, “The spirit of delusion and confusion, it has deceived many men and women, and it’s caused a stain on the body of Christ.”

Her critics said her message was hate, other media outlets called it a homophobic rant, while believers state it’s the Word of God.

What do you say?

Join me tonight at 6:30 p.m. EST on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via blog talk radio as I discuss “Hate, Homophobia or the Word of God?” with three (3) dynamic ministers; Rev. Caffie Risher, Minister Tuala Williams-Shields and Pastor Josh Olivero.

All “topic and conversation links” in this post will access the show.

See you on the air!!

Bishop Eddie Long, Uncategorized

RIP: Bishop Eddie Long

Bishop Eddie Long has lost his battle with cancer, a New Birth Baptist Church spokesperson confirmed in a statement on Sunday. He was 63.

The church released a statement on Sunday, saying Mr. Long waged a “gallant private fight with an aggressive form of cancer.”.

The controversial preacher was the subject of many rampant rumors in his final months. He reportedly suffered from an aggressive form of duodenal adenocarcinoma (cancer of the small intestine), according to a church insider.

Duodenal adenocarcinoma is rare and deadly because it is often caught too late and spreads rapidly. The prognosis for this form of cancer is poor.

Since the tumor is located at the beginning of the small intestine, it sometimes blocks food from entering the intestine from the stomach.

Long is survived by his wife, Vanessa Long, his four children and three grandchildren.

Hate, Hate crime, Prejudice

Dylan Roof Sentenced to DEATH!!!

aabttlvA U.S. jury on Tuesday condemned white supremacist Dylan Roof to death for the hate-fueled killings of nine black parishioners at a Bible study meeting in a Charleston, South Carolina, church in 2015.

The same jury last month found Roof, 22, guilty of 33 federal charges, including hate crimes resulting in death, for the shootings at the historic Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Jurors deliberated for less than three hours. Roof stared straight ahead as the judge read through the jury’s verdict findings before announcing his death sentence.

Roof, who represented himself for the penalty phase, was unrepentant during his closing argument earlier in the day. He told jurors he still felt the massacre was something he had to do and did not ask that his life be spared.

Roof’s hate was apparent as he was unremorseful during testimony of the entire trial.

Roof still faces a trial on murder charges in state court, where prosecutors also are seeking the death penalty.

President Obama Denies High Murder Rate During His Presidency

obama-days-550x377“There is no growing crime wave” is what he said.

But the president appears to be in denial over the unprecedented spike in violent crimes during his two terms as president. In an op-ed published in the Harvard Law Review, Obama refused to take credit for a 10.8 percent increase in murders from 2014 to 2015 — the largest increase in a single year since 1971.

In his Harvard Law Review op-ed, Obama claimed crime “remains near historic lows,” and he was adamant that there “is no growing crime wave”.

The president, who has 11 days left in office, took pride in using his “clemency power” to pardon hundreds of hardened criminals back onto the streets — more than any president in history.

Obama bragged that he will be “the first President in decades to leave office with a federal prison population lower than when I took office.”

In an interview with a Chicago CBS News affiliate, the president blamed social media for providing a platform to broadcast high profile crimes, such as the one involving a white man who was tortured for hours by 4 young black people.

Obama called the senseless hate crime in Chicago “terrible” and “despicable”.

A Gofundme page set up for the victim, who is autistic, has collected over $129,000.
