My “Friend” Chef Carl Redding, Needs Your Support!

I met Carl Redding way before he shared his love for the kitchen and his dreams of becoming a chef. In fact we, my family and I served as his test tasters way back when. And with such a successful career and strong track record as Rev. Al Sharpton’s Driver, body guard and Chief Of Staff, who knew becoming a world renowned Chef was in the cards of his destiny.

Well known and connected in the industry, his rise up the restaurant food chain became inevitable. On Mother’s Day, 1999, Carl opened Harlem’s famed Amy Ruth’s Restaurant. The people of Harlem flocked to Amy Ruth’s as it became known for its chicken and waffles, macaroni and cheese and its variety of southern dishes named after political dignitaries and famous friends Redding met along his journey. Carl continued riding the waves as he opened another Amy Ruth Restaurant location in Foxwood Casinos in Mashantucket, CT as other locations eventually followed. Carl made a name for himself as his bodacious personality and boisterous smile is as genuine as his love of people. He made himself known in the communities he became nestled in but now, HE NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT.

In a recent health scare, Carl had to have his left leg amputated and this tall, big black burly man who stood 6 feet tall is now confined to a wheel chair!!

Since the leg amputation Carl can no longer support himself and this is why he needs our help and our support. He has no income at all!!! And has been denied benefits at this time. This unfortunate incident is devastatingly shocking for Carl because his livelihood is being tested.

Hillary Clinton’s other shoe dropped, literally, at a 9/11 memorial event in New York City on Sunday and was left on the curb.

Clinton, 69, abruptly left the September 11th Commemoration Ceremony because she was reportedly “overheated” in 82-degree weather in New York City.

Clinton rushed out of the event without informing her Secret Service agents to have her van waiting for her outside.

The Secret Service broke protocol by not having the van already there — an embarrassing humiliation for the agents.

As Clinton stood on the curb waiting, her body stiffened and she stumbled.

A Secret Service agent and 2 women — one of them her doctor Lisa R. Bardack — grabbed her and propped her up.

A second Secret Service agent observed Clinton with a worrisome look on his face.

As the first agent stepped away from her side, he broke protocol again, to open the van door.


The other agent half dragged, half carried Mrs. Clinton into the van. By now she was dead weight. A bystander’s video footage captured the pitiful scene as her feet dragged off the curb.

As the agents loaded Clinton into the van she lost one of her shoes.

Until Sunday they’d been successful in pulling the wool over the media’s eyes. Clinton’s severe coughing and choking fit last week was attributed to “allergies”.

Clinton suffered a brain injury after she fell in 2012 and developed blood clots on her brain.

Washington insiders say she has Parkinson’s disease. The coughing fits are symptoms of a disorder called Dysphagia, or difficulty swallowing. The condition causes patients to accidentally aspirate their saliva.

In one of the 20,000 emails leaked by WikiLeaks, a Clinton staffer advises her about Provigil, an experimental medication used by the military to relieve Parkinson’s symptoms.

Finally on Sunday afternoon, Clinton’s doctor announced that Clinton was diagnosed with pneumonia… on Friday.

Miraculously, 90 minutes after her seizure episode, Clinton emerged from her daughter’s apartment smiling and waving, as if nothing was wrong.

This is expected of someone who had recently suffered a seizure — not someone who was diagnosed with pneumonia, and 90 minutes earlier had to be carried to her van and lost a shoe.

The media, republican insiders and the internet are all abuzz that, Hilary Clinton is not fit to be president.

“Being Healthy and Clean in 2016″…7 Natural Foods That Detox The Liver!

DetoxAt the beginning of a New Year, getting healthier and detoxing seem to be on most individual’s agendas. While fasting and detoxing are excellent ways to rid the body of toxins, detoxing the liver should be an ultimate priority. Especially if you consume alcohol periodically.

The liver is a vital organ of the human anatomy and performs multiple critical functions to keep the body pure of toxins and harmful substances.

Unfortunately, everyday toxins like medications and alcohol can overload the liver, reducing its functioning ability and negatively impacting your health. Fortunately, there are many natural foods that detox the liver, and chances are you already have them in your kitchen.

Here are seven (7) natural foods to detox your liver:

  1. Lemons: Commonly used in natural medicinal remedies, lemons are loaded with nutrients that are our bodies need, including fiber, vitamin C, vitamin B6, calcium, iron, magnesium, and potassium. They also contain bioflavonoids, which are antioxidants that help to cleanse the blood, detoxify the liver, and make the immune system strong. Drink the juice of half a lemon with some water daily to detox your liver.
  2.  Green Tea: (which is my all time favorite) and is widely considered one the healthiest beverages you can drink, and nutrition experts agree. To make green tea, the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant are used. These leaves are rich in catechins, a kind of antioxidant that studies show prevents fat accumulation and facilitates detoxification. Drink 4-5 cups of green tea daily to detox your liver. Keep in mind that it does contain caffeine.
  3.  Artichokes: another nutrient-dense food that cleanses the liver and purifies the blood. In fact, artichoke extracts have been prescribed by doctors for patients with liver problems since the 1800s. Plus, modern researchers have found that the phytonutrients cynarin and silymarin protect and regenerate liver cells and increase the production of bile. Artichoke can also help stabilize blood sugar.
  4.  Turmeric: (a spice that I add to everything daily) one of the main components of curry powder, has long been used as an effective healing remedy. The spice’s anti-inflammatory properties and health-boosting nutrients work together to improve liver function (among other things), and the curcumin in turmeric is a potent phytochemical that stimulates bile production. Bile is used by the liver to rid the body of toxins and restore liver cells.
  5.  Avocados: They are also nutrient-rich and help the body to produce glutathione (aka the mother of all antioxidants), which the body needs for liver detoxification and regeneration. If you’re worried about the high fat content, don’t, as avos contain monounsaturated fats. These are healthy fats that in moderation actually help reduce bad cholesterol and lower your risk of heart disease.
  6.  Onions: Especially “RED ONIONS” are best for detoxing the liver and my onion of choice for everything that I cook, especially veggie burgers. they contain sulfur, a chemical compound that opens up the liver’s sulfation pathways and enables the body to release accumulated toxins.
  7.  Cabbage: Cabbage is a cruciferous vegetable that is high in sulfur and provides vitamins K, C, folate, and Omega-3 fatty acids. Due to its high glucosinolate and chlorophyll content, cabbage activates important detoxifying enzymes and strengthens the liver. Generally, green cabbage is best (especially raw and organic), but any type of cabbage is good for detoxing the liver and will promote health.

What would make you happy? Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”


Researchers have been digging up hard data on a question previously left to philosophers: What makes us happy? For some it’s money, attitude, culture, memory, health, altruism, and our day-to-day habits that affect our well-being.

However, the emerging field of positive psychology is bursting with new findings that suggest your actions can have a significant effect on your happiness and satisfaction with life. Good or bad, happy or sad, we all have to live with the decisions that we make.

Recently in a letter I received from one of my loyal Ceo bloggers and listeners they stated:

Dear Ms. Bell,

What makes us happy? My girlfriend seems to think that she can only be happy unless she’s in a relationship, outside of that nothing else matters to her. And she’s constantly comparing herself to other woman regarding looks, accomplishments and success.  Until I asked her one day: what would truly make you happy? She couldn’t answer me.

Because we BOTH love your online show, please, please address this as a “Conversations Of A Sistah” show topic. Thank you I will await the subject.
