Is it better to be Married or Single? Why? Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

We’re starting Black History Month off with love and relationships in our topics list of discussions and tonight’s Conversation…”Is it better to be Married -or- Single?

Obviously being single carries the least amount of emotional risk and stress and prevents the potential traumatic experiences a marriage can allow (like cheating, divorce, death of spouse). While being single allows you to not have to answer to another person’s happiness (to a realistic extent) at all. You can have more time to yourself.

But being single can also feel lonely at times and many older singles can find it hard to have friends, as many will be married and have families of their own (per some older singles).

Married life can give more security if both parties can cooperate. Money, socialization and the support of another person can sometimes allow you to be the best version of yourself. A good marriage builds you up especially if both partners support each others goal.

Join the “Conversation” at 6:30 p.m. EST as we address the question: “Do you think its better to be single or married?” “And why?” on Conversations Of A Sistah.

We hope to meet you on the air!!

Corona Virus Reigns, so who’s to blame? Tonight’s Topic on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

BEIJING, CHINA – JANUARY 30: Chinese children wear plastic bottles as makeshift homemade protection and protective masks while waiting to check in to a flight at Beijing Capital Airport on January 30, 2020 in Beijing, China.

In the past three weeks since declaring the corona virus a national emergency, President Donald Trump has delivered a dizzying array of rhetorical contortions, sowed confusion and repeatedly sought to cast blame on others. He has faulted governors for acting too slowly, the democrats by claiming it’s a hoax and China because after-all, it’s their virus.

America is winning its war on corona-virus, the president says — yet the death toll is still rising, and in the best case scenario more Americans will die than in the wars fought in Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan and Iraq combined.

Instead of real leadership from the current administration, all we’re hearing and seeing is a COMMANDER OF CONFUSION!! This president continues to sow uncertainty and seeks to cast blame in the midst of this deadly crisis.

Join us at 6:30 p.m. EST for this weeks conversation, Corona Virus Reigns – so who’s  to Blame?”

We will be taking your calls in the studio at 516-595-8098, hope to meet you on the air!!

We’re Talking a Starbucks Boycott, Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Starbucks “mutually parted ways” with the manager, named only as Holly, who called 911 to report that two men refused to leave the 18th and Spruce Street location on last Thursday. Another patron uploaded cell phone video of the men being arrested, saying the two men were racially profiled.

Starbucks, is facing fierce criticism after two black men were arrested at a Philadelphia store, sparking accusations of racial profiling over what the company’s chief executive now calls a “reprehensible” incident.

In a statement, their CEO Kevin Johnson gave his deepest apologies” on Saturday to the two men who were taken out of the store in handcuffs by at least six officers on Thursday. SIX!!!! A store manager had asked the two men to leave after they attempted to use the bathroom without purchases. The men said they were waiting for a friend, their attorney later said. The manager then called 911 for assistance.

The police confrontation was captured on a video that has been viewed more than 8 million times on social media, fueling a backlash and drawing responses from the city’s police commissioner and mayor.

This is about racism and racial profiling.

Join our Host Ms. Tracy L. Bell at 6:30 p.m. EST on “Conversations Of A Sistah as she discusses boycotting the chain and will closing all stores on May 29 for bias training be enough to fan the flames of a racially charged manager.

Sexual Harassment &The Hypocrisy Thereof, Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

I’m BACK!!!!

Almost nothing is quite as simple as it looks. Certainly not sexual harassment and accusations thereof—as insiders at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences are well aware, with the expulsion of Harvey Wienstien following dozens of claims that he had sexually abused actresses and others over the years.

After banishing Wienstien at an emergency session, the Academy’s board of governors boldly declared an end to Hollywood’s silence about industry sex abuse. The expulsion, it said, was intended “to send a message that the era of willful ignorance and shameful complicity in sexually predatory behavior and workplace harassment in our industry is over.”? And it definitely is, with women coming out of the woodwork regarding sexual harassment in every wake of the industry and media, this topic is at the forefront. From the firing of NBC’s Matt Lauer to Congressman John Conyers, the shit is seriously hitting the fan!!

Join me tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah” at 6:30 p.m. EST via Blog Talk Radio as we discuss “Sexual Harassment & The Hypocrisy Thereof.”

My “Friend” Chef Carl Redding, Needs Your Support!

I met Carl Redding way before he shared his love for the kitchen and his dreams of becoming a chef. In fact we, my family and I served as his test tasters way back when. And with such a successful career and strong track record as Rev. Al Sharpton’s Driver, body guard and Chief Of Staff, who knew becoming a world renowned Chef was in the cards of his destiny.

Well known and connected in the industry, his rise up the restaurant food chain became inevitable. On Mother’s Day, 1999, Carl opened Harlem’s famed Amy Ruth’s Restaurant. The people of Harlem flocked to Amy Ruth’s as it became known for its chicken and waffles, macaroni and cheese and its variety of southern dishes named after political dignitaries and famous friends Redding met along his journey. Carl continued riding the waves as he opened another Amy Ruth Restaurant location in Foxwood Casinos in Mashantucket, CT as other locations eventually followed. Carl made a name for himself as his bodacious personality and boisterous smile is as genuine as his love of people. He made himself known in the communities he became nestled in but now, HE NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT.

In a recent health scare, Carl had to have his left leg amputated and this tall, big black burly man who stood 6 feet tall is now confined to a wheel chair!!

Since the leg amputation Carl can no longer support himself and this is why he needs our help and our support. He has no income at all!!! And has been denied benefits at this time. This unfortunate incident is devastatingly shocking for Carl because his livelihood is being tested.

I’ve linked his “Go Fund Me” account to my blog and to this post. Your generous support and contributions are well appreciated and I sincerely “thank you” in advance.
