“Mashonda’s Advice Via Her Twitter Page”

Should be common sense, don’t you think?

When she made a cameo appearance on “Love and Hip Hop” the other week, speaking as if her only claim to fame is the fact; Alicia Keys stole her husband, I was turned off by her at that point. The world knows what happened Mashonda, it’s time to move on.

“Bishop E. Bernard Jordan Exchanges The Word For Cash”

This is something I knew already but recieved the following email from a loyal “Ceo blog” reader who decided to put the fake “money-hungry” prophet on blast.

Dearest Tracy,

Just when you think you have heard it all, here comes Bishop E. Bernard Jordan and his army of so-called prophets. The issues with the “Prophetic Ministry” are both alarming and deceptive as many desperate believers are taken advantage of by men and women like Bishop Jordan. With generic prophecies and new age rhetoric, Bishop Jordan has gotten filthy rich off the hopes of the poor and the sick.

The “prophetic word for cash scheme” has actually been around for a while, even dating back to the time of Paul’s ministry. It was so popular at the time that even when Paul publicly rebuked a psychic / mystic, who was then beaten and thrown in jail (Acts Chapter 16:16-24)…

Like many of you, I too have sat up late at night flipping through the channels only to discover Bishop Jordan on BET offering ridiculously vague prophecies in exchange for a donation of any size. How did we as the Body of Christ go from the Great Prophets of the Bible like Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel to Bishop Jordan, Benny Hinn, and Bishop Clarence E. McClendon?

…Men like Bernard Jordan has succeeded in making a mockery of this most Holy appointment due in part to the fact that they have appointed themselves to the role of a Prophet. Common sense would tell us that God would not use a true prophet to issue a prophetic word that sounds something like this:

“I am feeling in my spirit the number 34 or 3 & 4 which means that you may want to sow a seed of $34 dollars because someone in your life who is 34 years old could be in danger.”

Really Bernard Jordan? Really!

We have reached the point in biblical history whereas the fear of the Lord has dissipated and we’re left with preachers who are for entertainment purposes only and E. Bernard Jordan is one of them..

Referring to a chapter from my book, “Conversations Of A Sistah”, the reader concluded: “If you wanna “hustle” then sell drugs, go be a male prostitute, do a check scam, but don’t take advantage of people’s spirituality by trying to make a dollar off of their beliefs.”

Wow and…Amen!

“Why Won’t He Marry Me?”

You cannot make a man marry you, nor can you make him love you., these two, very important instincts should be initiated by the man.

One of these questions came to me via email from a loyal reader:

Tracy I’ve been with this man for over a year and I have been everything he wants and more. I keep myself up and I work out and I look damn good whenever we hit the town and I present myself like a lady. I made it very clear to him that I’m not trying to do this dating thing for too long because I’m not getting any younger and he isn’t either!

He’s 30 and had his time to play around in the streets with the chicks who came before me but now it’s time for him to put a ring on it. I’m about to be 28 and I have a very strict timeline that I’ve told him about and he acted like he was okay with it. I want to be engaged by the time I’m 29 and married by 30 I’ve said it over and over but he hasn’t bought it to the forefront of discussion as a matter of fact he avoids it.

I don’t want to waste my time but he needs to step up to the plate. I have a job, I don’t have kids and not to blow my own horn but I’m physically attractive. He’s educated and got a good job so I don’t understand the hold up. He needs to put a ring on it asap. How do I get this message across to him because I can’t wait much longer. Your advice would be appreciated.

This letter is so simple and easy…The decision to marry has to be initiated by the man, in Proverbs 18:22, it states: “Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing”, your man has to recognize that you’re his good thing!

If he doesn’t, then you have to move on and not waste anymore time in a relationship with him that will not herald the results that you want. And this simply means, that you’re not pressuring him into a decision but you both don’t want the same things.

There are so many other issues I touched on with this reader, who failed to mention one very important thing: LOVE – marriage is serious and should not be ‘entered into’ lightly but should mean for the rest of your life…I wished her luck and advised her to be prayerful.

What do you want to tell her? She’ll be reading your comments below.

“Is Teenage Pregnacy An Epidemic?”

Teenage pregnancy has evolved from a shameful situation to a symbol of status in many high schools across the U.S.

In June 2008, allegations that a teenage pregnancy pact existed at Gloucester High School in Massachusetts, which resulted in 17 pregnancies in a school of 1200 students; rocked their town of a large catholic population.

While as of September 2010, there were “75” pregnant teenage girls walking the halls of Passaic High School in Passaic, NJ. far more obvious that, what was once a shunned condition now seems glamorous.

Shows like “Teen moms” and others, that favor a hip Hollywood version of life as a ‘baby mama’ bombard teens with the message that being loved is all that really matters. And for those teens unsure about themselves and their relationships, the desire for some form of unconditional love leads many to think motherhood will satisfy that longing.

However, in Memphis, Tennessee, when Frayser High School put their town in a national spotlight with as many as ‘90‘ students pregnant, the mayors of Memphis and Shelby county were ready to get to work to reverse the statistics.

“I want to make one thing clear — the matter of teenage pregnancy is not something that was invented in Frayser or Boxtown, or Midtown, or any particular part of our city,” the mayor said. “Frayser doesn’t have a patent or trademark on this issue. These are not statistics, these are people and tragically [the] most venerable people.”

Memphis City Schools curriculum now offers 9th graders a family life education course, that has a heavy emphasis on abstinence from sex outside of marriage. The school district is going to be rolling out a new “No Baby” program in hopes to help curtail the large number of teen pregnancies.

The new program presented by Girls Inc., a nonprofit organization that teaches women’s empowerment, will incorporate Facebook and text messaging as a part of the “in your face” efforts to teach the girls “how to say no” to sex. ‘No Baby’ will also push abstinence and will not give out any form of contraceptives.

Now that’s an action plan to believe in.

“People Are Stranded In The Blizzard – Are U?”

Treacherous storms, lashing winds and low visibility, dumped about a foot of snow on the East Coast yesterday. Leaving thousands of airline, rail and bus passengers stranded.

The blizzard conditions wreaked havoc on travelers from the Carolina’s to Maine and forced the suspension of operations at some of the nations busiest airports.

Airlines are scrambling to rebook passengers of thousand cancelled flights but don’t except to resume service until later today and not completely until Friday.

I’ve received many emails and phone calls informing me that the Governor of New Jersey has declared New Jersey “A state of emergency”. States of emergency have been declared in North Carolina, Virginia, Maine and Massachusetts as well.

Thank God I don’t have to worry about that until Sunday. 🙂 So if this post pertains to you, please stay safe.
