“Conversations Of A Sistah” Will be on a “2 week” Hiatus!!

All work and no play can wear a Writer, Author, Daughter, Blog-talk Host, Founder and CEO sistah down, which is why we are taking a two-week hiatus to regroup.

The show will return to its regular weekly broadcast live on Wednesday July 31st at 8:00 PM.

In the meantime, tell us what two shows you’d like to hear in our absence.

Our cutoff for selection will be Sunday August 14th…….I’ll be reading and listening, so remember the majority will win!

A bitch is a female dog or other member of the canine family. In colloquial use, the word bitch is often employed in a metaphorical sense to either insult a woman, or to describe a woman who is malicious, spiteful, domineering, intrusive, unpleasant or even a prostitute. it may also be used to refer to a male subordinate to another male (especially in prison).

In recent years some have begun to embrace the term as a positive one used to describe a confident, powerful, assertive, or aggressive woman. Under the impulse of second-wave feminism, some women began to reclaim the word bitch, subverting its original, derisive meaning by instead using “bitch” to celebrate the qualities of a strong, capable women.

And no I’m not talking about the song which was originally recorded by Percy Sledge in 1966, or the 1994 movie that chronicles one woman’s (Meg Ryan) alcoholism and her husband’s (Andy Garcia) efforts to help her.

What I’m actually talking about is, knowing when someone is so in-sync with you, your hearts will surely beat as one. And although every individual may have their own definition of love, how a man loves a woman can be an experience of our own realities.

When he looks for opportunities to make you happy, which goes far beyond romance. It’s the type of love that grows deeper because of knowing each other on an intimate level. For me, it means that he is tuned in enough to step up and support me when I need it, often without me having to ask. He just knows who he needs to be for me in order for me to be happy. A real man’s love is just like that for the woman in his life. The woman who makes him happy therefore he goes above & beyond his call of duty to always put her first.

“The Challenges Of A Single Father” Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

The challenges of a single father can be many; from raising their children alone, holding down more than one job, conflicts with the mother or the loss of a child altogether. Regardless to what cultural narratives would have you to believe not all fathers are absent and disengaged. A healthy parent, mentally and emotionally will produce happy and healthy children, which is vitally important. 

According to the U.S. Census report, 16 percent of single parents are men and the numbers are increasing, along with the statistics of divorced fathers requesting (and being granted) shared or sole custody of their children.

In continuing on the subject of men, in honor of Father’s Day this month, my guest on the show tonight are two extra-ordinary men, who will reflect on their greatest successes and challenges as fathers.

My panel tonight will include Mr. Miguel Angel Delgado, 40, a Network Engineer and father of three daughters and one son, who’s served four years as a Corporal E4 in the U.S. Marine Corps stationed in Jacksonville, North Carolina following a  a tour of duty in Okinawa, Japan. Mr. Delgado currently resides in Tampa, Florida with his family. Although he’s had a normal childhood overcoming many struggles, he’s certainly persevered as a stable father.

Bell, 52, (pictured here) father of three daughters who has served six years of active duty in the U.S. Army, spent tours of duty in North Korea and Germany, before being stationed at Fort Dix in New Jersey, Fort Hood in Texas and Fort Campbell in Kentucky. Mr. Bell is currently operational as a Mental Health Adviser and extremely active in his role as a single father.

“Homosexuality…Is it the New Norm?” Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Same sex marriage and equality became a big discussion during the recent Presidential election and President Barack Obama took his stance on this issue and proudly endorsed it. Since then, several entertainers, athletes, celebrities and television journalist have proudly stumbled out of their closets professing this lifestyle.

Homosexuality has now become a media sensation and is being shoved in our faces as if it is the new norm. Schools are teaching classes on same-sex, television sitcoms are addressing it and department store ads and commercials are displaying it. Sounds like the moral decline of a society as a whole, dismissing God’s plan and purpose of traditional family and relationships.

The U.S Department of Education announced a radical new policy change to its federal student aid form (FAFSA). The new policy, which takes effect in the 2014-2015 school year, will eliminate the terms “mother” and “father” from student aid forms. The new, non-gender specific terms will be “Parent 1″ and “Parent 2″.

The change is being instituted to make children who were raised in non-traditional same-sex homes more comfortable with the application process.

This is just another tool being used by the Gay Agenda movement (with the full blessing of President Obama) to brainwash children into believing that heterosexual sex is not the norm.

Meanwhile, gay sex remains unchallenged as the #1 means of transmitting the HIV virus.

According to statistics compiled by the Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control (CDC); no other HIV risk factor even comes close to male-to-male sex. But the media won’t tell you that.
