“Twerking and Jerking” What’s with this booty popping craze? Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

twerking

Miley Cyrus has the media all abuzz and folks just can’t seem to stop talking about her “twerking rendition” on the VMA’s last week.

As Cyrus took to lap dancing Robin Thicke’s crotch onstage, onlookers were shocked and seemingly surprised that the once innocent Hanna Montana, seemed to be totally turned out for raunchiness. Between the crotch popping twerking and her 15 inch tongue sticking out her mouth, I don’t know which annoyed me the most.

Now you-tube is on fire with “how to” videos on twerking, while other media outlets are speaking from which this disgraceful gyrating derived.

My thing is this, why is this dance so seemingly popular when it is both degrading and vulgar? Popping your rectum from strong points of the pelvis is not dignified nor is it a proper display of self-respect in public.

I personally don’t think the dance is suitable nor do I consider it a form of art such as; ballet, Latin or jazz.

When good girls Switch and become full blown Bitch!! …Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

angry-black-woman

bitch is a female dog or other member of the canine family. In colloquial use, the word bitch is often employed in a metaphorical sense to either insult a woman, or to describe a woman who is malicious, spiteful, domineering, intrusive, unpleasant or even a prostitute. it may also be used to refer to a male subordinate to another male (especially in prison).

In recent years some have begun to embrace the term as a positive one used to describe a confident, powerful, assertive, or aggressive woman. Under the impulse of second-wave feminism, some women began to reclaim the word bitch, subverting its original, derisive meaning by instead using “bitch” to celebrate the qualities of a strong, capable women.

Join me tonight at 8:00 PM on Conversations Of A Sistah via “Conversations Live” as I discuss my definition of the term: “When good girls switch and become full blown bitch!!” and why?

In the meantime, sound off and I’ll meet you on the air!!!!

Being Single, CEO's Blog, Conversations Of A Sistah, What she said

“Single…Sexy…and Solo”, Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

african_american_woman_date

Why is having a man so important for some women? And why is having a woman so important for some men? How is it that, some individuals allow society to dictate their status to equaling one’s importance to another half? When people are made whole? God did not make men and women half beings to complete another half. However, some people find that being single is the biggest curse since the creation of a girdle.

Having a mate is wonderful and love created divine so awesome but there are some steps that we as individuals should take in order to grow into being with another person. The biggest step being, getting to know and love thyself first!

In order to be comfortable in your “SINGLE” status you must first have the confidence and security within yourself that no other man and/or woman can taint.

Some men and women hate being solo and I find this to be a sad state of competition.

Join me tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via “Conversations Live” at 8:00 PM as I discuss the joys of being Single, Sexy and Solo.

In the meantime, sound off on this topic and access the show here!

CEO's Blog, Conversations Of A Sistah, Love, Tracy L. Bell, when a man loves his woman

“When a Man Loves a Woman” Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

And no I’m not talking about the song which was originally recorded by Percy Sledge in 1966, or the 1994 movie that chronicles one woman’s (Meg Ryan) alcoholism and her husband’s (Andy Garcia) efforts to help her.

What I’m actually talking about is, knowing when someone is so in-sync with you, your hearts will surely beat as one. And although every individual may have their own definition of love, how a man loves a woman can be an experience of our own realities.

When he looks for opportunities to make you happy, which goes far beyond romance. It’s the type of love that grows deeper because of knowing each other on an intimate level. For me, it means that he is tuned in enough to step up and support me when I need it, often without me having to ask. He just knows who he needs to be for me in order for me to be happy. A real man’s love is just like that for the woman in his life. The woman who makes him happy therefore he goes above & beyond his call of duty to always put her first.

Can you tell when a man loves his woman?

Tune into “Conversations Of A Sistah” on Conversations Live” at 8:00 P.M. tonight, as I explore “When a man Loves a woman”.

“The Challenges Of A Single Father” Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

???????????????????????????????

The challenges of a single father can be many; from raising their children alone, holding down more than one job, conflicts with the mother or the loss of a child altogether. Regardless to what cultural narratives would have you to believe not all fathers are absent and disengaged. A healthy parent, mentally and emotionally will produce happy and healthy children, which is vitally important.

According to the U.S. Census report, 16 percent of single parents are men and the numbers are increasing, along with the statistics of divorced fathers requesting (and being granted) shared or sole custody of their children.

In continuing on the subject of men, in honor of Father’s Day this month, my guest on the show tonight are two extra-ordinary men, who will reflect on their greatest successes and challenges as fathers.

My panel tonight will include Mr. Miguel Angel Delgado, 40, a Network Engineer and father of three daughters and one son, who’s served four years as a Corporal E4 in the U.S. Marine Corps stationed in Jacksonville, North Carolina following a  a tour of duty in Okinawa, Japan. Mr. Delgado currently resides in Tampa, Florida with his family. Although he’s had a normal childhood overcoming many struggles, he’s certainly persevered as a stable father.

Timmy_BellAnd Mr. Timothy T. Bell, 52, (pictured here) father of three daughters who has served six years of active duty in the U.S. Army, spent tours of duty in North Korea and Germany, before being stationed at Fort Dix in New Jersey, Fort Hood in Texas and Fort Campbell in Kentucky. Mr. Bell is currently operational as a Mental Health Adviser and extremely active in his role as a single father.

Join me tonight (June 19th) at 8:00 PM on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via “Conversations Live” as I discuss with my gentlemen guest, the challenges they’ve struggled with as single fathers.

Please send all topic related questions to my guest at conversations@optonline.net
