Don’t Mess with Diana the Diva!

U

Diana Ross was pissed when she arrived at an upscale Italian eatery in Beverly Hills, CA and they refused to seat her. The leading lady of the popular 60’s girl group (The Supreme’s) was scheduled to have lunch with her daughter (we don’t know which one) but arrived ahead and was told she had to wait before being seated. Well Diana wasn’t having that, so she marched forth to a corner booth in the restaurant anyway, when she was told she wouldn’t be served because she was in violation of their policy; the diva wouldn’t budge.

“I’m sorry that Miss Ross had a problem with that and she feels that the rules didn’t apply to her. Our policy is that we don’t sit incomplete parties. If people jump the line, our policy is we don’t serve them, and she was told that. We treat everyone the same whether you’re famous or not. We love having her as a customer. We’d be happy to have her back.” The owner of the restaurant said.

Sources said that when her daughter finally arrived, a scene ensued and both women stormed out of the restaurant. The restaurant also noted, Diana nor her daughter had a reservation, which means they would have had to wait to be seated anyway.

“One Of My Dining Experiences This Weekend Was At”

The Country Pancake House and Restaurant in Ridgewood, NJ…Thier restaurant’s motto is “Home of the Hearty” and that is because their pancakes and omelets are huge!!! You get more food than you bargain for.

I had a spinache omelet with onions and swiss, and every omelet comes with 2 large pancakes and home fries. My dinner companions had a cajun omelet, loaded with shrimp and fish. Everyone else had the huge pancakes topped with powdered sugar, bananas and strawberries.

While your waiting for the waitress to take your order, they bring out this basket of huge, thick, hot pieces of cornbread both plain and some filled chocolate chip. And they are so good!!!!!

The menu is large and their selections are endless, so bring your appetite. The restaurant is small but the food is extremely good. They accept no credit cards people, cash only.

“Tiger Woods Was Supposed To Make An Announcement”

Today!

The golf world was all abuzz today about a special announcement that Tiger Woods was supposed to make at 11 a.m.

Speculation and rumors abound that Woods, 35, who hasn’t won a tournament in 2 years, will call it quits and retire for good from the sport that made him a billionaire.

Woods’ fairytale career ended in spectacular fashion in November 2009 when he crashed his SUV into a tree outside his home a day after a tabloid published a story that he was having an affair.

In the following weeks, whores fell out the closet left and right and Woods checked himself into a sex rehab. Woods’ corporate sponsors began a mass exodus for the door, and his long-suffering wife, Elin, filed for divorced and left with the couple’s children, Sam Alexis, 4, and Charlie Axel, 2.

Poor Tiger but he brought it all on himself.

“Some Collegues And Myself Dined Last Night”

At Mama Roxy’s!!! An italian restaurant in Rochelle Park, NJ.

The menu offers traditional Italian food, including brick-oven pizza with some tasty salads which are simply off the hook!

Taking the place of Austin’s BBQ, Mama Roxy’s opened following a full renovation that took 14 months to complete. The main dining room is a large, open display of tables bordered by booth seating with twin brick ovens at the rear of this level and a bar on the left. At the entryway of the roomy 250-seat space, a large chandelier gives way to a tall ceiling and second level (where we dined) for large events.

All salads and dinner entrées, including pasta, are available in either individual or family style servings. Baked or sautéed shrimp and grilled salmon round out the seafood entrées.

Brick-oven, thin-crust pizzas are available in 12- and 16-inch sizes, with toppings that include mushrooms, spinach, prosciutto, meatballs, anchovies and kalamata olives. White pies made with mozzarella or ricotta and calzones also are available. Salads include the Mama Roxy, which can be made with chicken, salmon or shrimp, as well as a Sicilian salad made with mozzarella, roasted peppers, olives, capers and anchovies. Along with the usual fried calamari, a popular appetizer is Mama Roxy’s chips, fried eggplant and zucchini served with homemade cucumber yogurt dip.

At first I wasn’t thrilled with my girlfriend Marsha’s choice to dine at Mama Roxy’s but in the end, it was well worth a good meal.

Located down the street from the Parkway exit and entrance to the Garden State Plaza, Mama Roxy’s provides cozy, casual Italian dining, so if you’re ever in the mood for good italian food and fine dining; check this place out.

“Unless There’s A Patent On Chicken N Waffles”

Nobody owns it!!!!

IHOP, the internationally known pancake giant has added “chicken and waffles” to their varied food menu. But according to Carl Redding, owner and proprietor of Reddings Restaurant in Atlantic City, New Jersey, “They’re selling soul food without the soul”.

Chicken and Waffles “use to be” one of Reddings signature dishes when he owned and operated Amy Ruth’s in Harlem, New York over a decade ago.

Chef Redding feels IHOP has set chicken and waffles back 70 years because they’re marketing a cheap dish at a cheap price.“You’re supposed to perfect the dish, not diminish the quality or taste, but that’s what IHOP has done,” says Redding. “You can’t sacrifice quality to undercut the market”.

According to Chef Redding he’s supposedly selling the real thing while IHOP is selling juicy chicken tenders with crispy Belgian waffles that are thick and dry, with no authenticity or historical allegiance to the African-American experience.

IHOP is a global breakfast chain that has long since branched out to ride the wave with its competitors; and has now joined the competition of so many other restaurants besides Reddings, who’ve added “chicken and waffles to their menus.

Kevin Hezekiah, who owns and operates Bayonne’s Chicken & Waffles in Bayonne, NJ also has chicken and waffles on his menu as well as Roscoe’s in Los Angeles and Sylvia’s soul food restaurant, the famed Harlem dame, who’s put her famous soul food on the map! And I’m sure there’s so many other restaurants who’ve done the same.

So in my opinion, there are no originators just duplicator’s…
