Gayle King: ‘I wasn’t scared during R. Kelly interview’

Gayle King was praised by her colleagues for her calm composure during her career-defining interview with troubled singer R. Kelly.

Kelly was previously arrested and charged with aggravated sexual abuse. His interview with King was his first since he bonded out of jail last weekend.

Kelly was agitated and aggressive during the explosive interview which aired on CBS This Morning. King, 64, remained calm and unbothered as Kelly stood over her while loudly professing his innocence.

Her quiet composure sparked hundreds of memes on social media, including the meme below.

“I was not scared,” King told the Oprah Magazine, where she serves as editor-at-large. “I never thought he was going to hit me.

King said she realized how scary the scenes looked “after Oprah and my kids Kirby and Will called me to ask if I was okay… But I was never worried he was going to hurt me. I was more worried that he was going to get up and leave,” King explained.

“So what I was really thinking to myself was: I’m not done with this interview, so I’m going to let him have his moment. If I stood up even to comfort him, that could have been his invitation to say ‘This is over.’ So I didn’t interrupt his anger and let him have that.”

Sources say the interview saved King’s career as an anchorwoman. She was rumored to have one foot out the door at CBS when her contract ends soon.

Bill Cosby looked despondent in a mew mugshot photo that was taken at a jail near the Montgomery County courthouse in Philadelphia where he was sentenced to 3-10 years in prison.

The 81-year-old was convicted of three counts of drugging and molesting a former Temple University staffer at his home in 2004.

Who Killed Prince?

Prince’s autopsy revealed that the 5ft 3in singer weighed just 112lbs at the time of his death, and that he was dressed entirely in black (cap, pants, shirt, socks and boxer briefs) when his unresponsive body was discovered on April 21 inside an elevator at his Paisley Park estate just outside Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was announced yesterday that no criminal charges would be filed in the death of Prince, and tomorrow marks two years after he lost his life following an alleged overdose.

The investigation did reveal that Prince himself had no idea the pills contained Fentanyl, with officials stating that the singer thought he was taking Vicodin in the days and weeks leading up to his death.

This would suggest that neither Prince or those close to him knew that he was addicted to Fentanyl at the time of his death. This is hard to believe. Someone knew or knows who was subscribing these pills to prince? Someone on his staff had to know he was buying Fentanyl laced pills, which is said to be deadlier than cocaine.

Prince died of a self-administered Fentanyl overdose according to an autopsy report released by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.

The 57-year-old singer’s death was ruled an accident, and the only listed cause on the medical examiner’s report was ‘Fentanyl toxicity’.

‘To actively charge a crime requires probable cause and a reasonable likelihood of conviction. The bottom line is that we simply do not have sufficient evidence to charge anyone with a crime related to Prince’s death,’ said Mark Metz, the Carver County attorney on Thursday.

Authorities have yet to determine how prince got his hands on the highly addictive drug fentanyl. The question remains: Who Killed Prince?

Usher paid $1.1M to woman he allegedly infected with herpes

Usher paid out $1.1 million to settle a lawsuit with a stylist who claimed the pop star infected her with herpes, court papers show.

The documents were first published Wednesday by Radar Online, but they appear to date back to 2012.

The 38-year-old “Confessions” singer, whose real name is Usher Raymond IV, was diagnosed with herpes in 2009 or 2010, according to the court papers. But nonetheless, he had unprotected sex with the claimant without confessing that he was carrying the virus.

The law is clear in California: It is illegal to knowingly or recklessly transmit an STD. Usher allegedly did just that when he told the victim he had tested negative for the virus, despite a “greenish discharge” from his penis, the court papers say.

“Believing Raymond’s statements that (the discharge) had been nothing and cleared up, (she) continued her relationship,” the legal docs said. The claimant was later diagnosed with herpes, complete with vaginal sores, fevers and chills, she alleged in papers.

Usher paid some of the victim’s medical bills in 2012 — $2,754.40 in all, the court papers show. That’s when he also had his doctor call the woman to tell her that the singer did indeed carry the herpes virus.

Usher had herpes for years the legal documents noted that Usher was “exposed to herpes” in 2009 or 2010, around when he finalized his divorce to Tameka Foster after she accused him of cheating.

The singer married his current wife, Grace Miguel, in 2015.

Herpes is a life-long STD and everything that looks clean ain’t clean.
