“When Boaz is BROKEN” Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Broken is a state of despair we’ve all been in at some point in our lives or another. It’s the mindset of having given up all hope and becoming ineffective in life. This toll weighs heavier on men than it does women.

Women don’t hurt any less than men, but our hearts are generally more open. We are naturally more vulnerable, so it’s often easier for us to start over once we have healed. Men, on the other hand, take losses like deaths, especially if it’s a real death because they never fully recover. They can move on, but a piece of their heart is always missing. This can pose many issues in the relationship.

But what about when your man is broken, your potential other? How do you deal with him? In fact, how can the relationship last or even survive? Is the man even worth the love? At what point do we think “fuck it” and just give up?

Tune in tonight at 6:30 p.m. EST on “Conversations Of A Sistah” for my Conversation with Mr. Ken Brisbon (pictured above), Founder of “The Game is SOLD, NOT Told” for our discussion on “When Boaz is Broken, a Women’s guide to dealing with BROKEN men.

New Movie Release

Jordan Peele makes history as 1st black director to gross $100 million

Jordan Peele made movie history this weekend, becoming the first black writer-director to gross $100 million at the box office.

The Blumhouse Productions psychological thriller Get Out also became the movie house’s first $100 million movie.

Blumhouse made the film on a $4 million budget and a cast of unknowns, including a lead actor from across the pond.

Get Out‘s racial overtones helped push the movie over the $100 million threshold.

Movie houses are lining up to sign Peele to multimillion dollar contracts for his next film.

Peele, 38, made a name for himself as one half of the comedy duo Kay and Peele.

Peele and his wife Chelsea Peretti, 39, are expecting their first baby together.

“Mental Illness is Real” Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Mental Illness is a very taboo topic in the Black Community and so many people who need help don’t know how to access it because of the exposure of its reality. The only way to remove the stigma associated with mental illness is to start conversations within our communities.

Some would argue that mental illness is not a real disease and, in fact, doesn’t exist at all. Each mental disease case has its own type of evidence and can eventually lead to suicide.

Ciara, Russell Wilson and Baby Future went nude for a sweet but weird maternity photo

Nude maternity photo shoots have been the rage since Demi Moore’s Vanity Fair cover ages ago.

Ciara added that twist by bringing Russell Wilson and Baby Future to a shoot she did for Harper’s Bazaar. The photo shows Ciara holding her son while Wilson kneels behind her with his hands on her pregnant belly.

It’s a touching pose but also weird and confusing. There are a lot of hands here and it took me way too long to figure out what exactly was going on. Having Wilson hide behind her like that may not have been the best artistic choice.

‘Relationship jumpers’, tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

fall-in-loveYou know the ones, they jump from one relationship to the next without fully healing from the unhealthy relationship they were just in? And “boom” two days or two weeks after a break-up, they’re in a whole new relationship.

Those are “Relationship Jumpers“… People who don’t give themselves time to heal emotionally, physically and psychologically. They want instant move-ons, minus the real time it takes to heal from a broken or ended relationship.

Join me tonight at 6:30 p.m. EST on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via blog talk radio for my commentary on this subject. Hope to meet you on the air!!!
