The Houston’s “On Our own” Airs tomorrow at 9:00PM

Whitney Houston was the star and Whitney Houston was the legend, therefore I’m not interested in the private and personal lives of her family. I will always be a Whitney Houston fan but still not interested in her family’s reality television show.

And in spite of Whitney Houston being out of the equation, Lifetime television has apparently inked this deal for a reality show starring Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina, her grandmother Cissy Houston, her uncle Gary, his wife Pat and their daughter Rayah.

Although the Houston’s deny this reality show as exploiting the late singer’s death in order to make a profit, their claim is that Whitney was “onboard” with the show prior to her death last February.

“The Houston’s: On Our Own” which airs tomorrow night, will reportedly confirm Bobbi Kristina’s engagement to Nick Gordon; a young man who lived with she and her mother Whitney, supposedly raised as her brother and is now in the picture as the love of Bobbi Kristina’s life.

The anticipated show, which will follow the lives of the Houston family, released a series of clips from the show’s sneak peaks into the trials that come with trying to raise Whitney Houston’s only daughter especially as she tries to walk through life without her mother. In viewing clips for the upcoming show, it is painfully obvious that Bobbi Kristina’s had no discipline growing up with her mother.

I’m sure this show will be packed with plenty of drama!

Politics, President Obama

The Restaurant Owner who bear hugged Obama invited to tonight’s debate

Scott Van Duzer, the pizza shop owner who enthusiastically embraced the president last month, by physically lifting him up off the ground and bear-hugging him; will be a guest at tonight’s presidential debate.

Tonight is the 3rd presidential debate between President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney. This debate is being held at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida and will focus on foreign policy.

This election 2012 is crucial, will you tune into tonight’s debate? Be sure and share your comments with me when it’s over.

New Movie Release, News, Tyler Perry

Tyler Perry is Alex Cross!

Tyler Perry took off the dress for a minute in a command performance as Alex Cross, the man is both multi-talented and impressive in such a dramatic role as a doctor and detective. Perry proved that his talents go far beyond the character “Madea” that he’s made so famous.

Tyler Perry plays a young homicide detective/psychologist Alex Cross who meets his match in a serial killer. The two face off in a high-stakes game of cat and mouse, but when the mission gets personal, Cross is pushed to the edge of his moral and psychological limits.

Edward Burns plays Cross’ sidekick in the film and his character grows a little unrealistic and unbelievable to the point that, Burns is clueless as Cross (played by Perry), is the constant crime solver on every point of incident in the film. Tyler Perry is definitely the breakout star.

I give the movie 10 thumbs up, it’s a must see in my opinion.

Controversy, Politics, President Obama

Mitt Romney’s son wanted to take a swing at Obama

The tense verbal exchange between President Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney during Tuesday’s presidential debate stirred anger in Romney’s son, Tagg Romney.

Tagg Romney was a guest on a North Carolina radio show when he was asked how he felt when Obama accused his father of being a liar.

Tagg said he wanted to jump out his seat and “rush down the debate stage and take a swing at him”. But when he thought about how secret service would “stomp him down” he held back.

I heard Tagg Romney’s interview and I think his comments were a natural response of action to anyone attacking his father.  If someone was verbally attacking my father, I would want to react in the same fashion, defensively. In a case like this, Tagg didn’t care that Barack Obama is president of the United States.

So in the meantime as the media “blows Tagg’s comments” out of proportion on this issue, I’m sure Romney’s son made the comment out of human nature, love and protection for a parent.

Tonite on “Conversations Of A Sistah” Are You Color Struck? Light skin Vs. Dark skin

For decades and ever since I can remember, light skin people have always been considered inferior, beautiful, fine or better looking than dark skin people. It’s a sick twisted fallible that some believe to be true because of a certain complexion. Be it light skin or dark skin., this might be “one’s” preference.

This color thing, light skin blacks verses dark skin blacks, originated in slavery. The man, the master separated the light skin slaves from the dark skin slaves, even having his light skin slaves working in-house in his mansion, while the dark skin slaves labored in his fields. The masters considered light skin blacks closer to white and easily acceptable.

So how did such self-hatred seep into the black culture? Slave masters ignited it when they separated their light skin house slaves from their dark skin field slaves. The dark skin slaves working in the field hated the light skin slaves working in the masters house. The light skin slaves were supposedly treated better, secretly worshipped and somewhat accepted. Why? Because that slave master was raping that black slave to begin with, which produced the light skin outcome from the slave masters seed.

So be sure to tune-in Thursday October 18th at 8:00 PM to “Conversations Of A Sistah” on “Conversations Live” and find out if you’re color struck or have that light skin verses dark skin mentality and I’ll break it down for you and tell you why??? Or email us at conversationsofasistah@readywriterproductioncompany.com

And you can’t judge me, my skin is fair, tune in on this subject by joining me on the air!!
