“Conversations Of A Sistah” is back on “Conversations Live” beginning this Wednesday January 16, 2013 at 8:00 PM. I hope you’ll join me as I discuss the history, the format and the base of my show, which was and is derived from my book, “Conversations Of A Sistah” subtitle, “The Truth And The Myth About Praying For A Mate.”
For those of you who have read my story, you know that I deal with and address many topics and real issues. Our goal is to capture that same essence with the show. Most of my “show topics” and guest in 2012, highlighted several mentions and everyday issues we may deal with on a regular basis. In 2013, I hope to go deeper into the core of what’s to come.
“Conversations Of A Sistah” is not a one-way conversation; I will always engage my audience of readers and listeners to chime in on my subjects as well. in addition this platform is not “for women only” either, we welcome and invite our gentlemen listeners/readers to participate too.
This year will be a milestone year for the book as it turns ten (10) years old in June, so to help me kick off the New Year of the show’s return; I invite you to send me your questions regarding the book or any of the subjects mentioned within. I also invite you to tell me what topics you would like me to “talk” about this year. You can send me your emails by emailing the show at conversationsofasistah@readywriterproductioncompany.com.
Tune in this Wednesday on my new night, same time (8:00 PM), as we kick off this year with more of the conversations, you’ll love to hear.
You can access the show here… “Conversation Of A Sistah” on Conversations Live. Or from any of the links in this post. Can’t wait to meet you on the air. 🙂
And posing in your underwear, wearing a cut-off t-shirt, that shyly exposes your breast on the cover of a major magazine, is sure to get the attention that Ms. Beyonce seeks.
The superstar singer flaunts her killer curves and sexy look on the cover of the upcoming February issue of GQ magazine, which hits newsstands on Jan. 15.
Wearing only a pair of red leopard-print underwear and a cropped T-shirt, Beyonce accessorizes her sexy appearance with nothing else but some gold jewelry and a come-hither look, the New York Daily News reports.
It seems to me that Ms. Beyonce dances on every set. When the Newtown, CT tragedy happened, she jumped on the “ban assault weapons” wagon and became a spokesperson for that issue. After Barack Obama won his second term election, she penned an open letter to Michelle Obama.
The buzz over Bey’s risqué cover shoot follows disappointing news for me, that she will be performing the national anthem at President Barack Obama’s inauguration ceremony on Jan. 21, which will take place at the U.S. Capitol. I was so hoping Obama’s people would reach out to Jennifer Hudson.
But Beyonce doesn’t stop there. Two weeks later, she’ll let loose with a highly anticipated Super Bowl halftime performance on Feb. 3… damn!!!!! I’m a little tired of the no-talented, attention seeking singer.
I have nothing against Beyonce and I’m a fan of some of her hits, but there are so many other talented artist out here that Beyonce can’t hold a candle too, yet they are not getting half the attention she’s getting and it’s a bit annoying.
Diana Ross was pissed when she arrived at an upscale Italian eatery in Beverly Hills, CA and they refused to seat her. The leading lady of the popular 60’s girl group (The Supreme’s) was scheduled to have lunch with her daughter (we don’t know which one) but arrived ahead and was told she had to wait before being seated. Well Diana wasn’t having that, so she marched forth to a corner booth in the restaurant anyway, when she was told she wouldn’t be served because she was in violation of their policy; the diva wouldn’t budge.
“I’m sorry that Miss Ross had a problem with that and she feels that the rules didn’t apply to her. Our policy is that we don’t sit incomplete parties. If people jump the line, our policy is we don’t serve them, and she was told that. We treat everyone the same whether you’re famous or not. We love having her as a customer. We’d be happy to have her back.” The owner of the restaurant said.
Sources said that when her daughter finally arrived, a scene ensued and both women stormed out of the restaurant. The restaurant also noted, Diana nor her daughter had a reservation, which means they would have had to wait to be seated anyway.
I’ve heard many times before that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Photographer Yossi Loloi think so, which is why in his project entitled “Full Beauty” he features nude photographs of women 420 pounds and larger.
With a deep respect for his subjects and a challenging eye toward both pop culture and art history, Loloi shows that the history of the female nude is a dangerously limited one. While it is a rarity to show curvy bodies in advertising, entertainment or even contemporary art, obese women are virtually never acknowledged in these realms, despite the growing number of Americans who are overweight.
By showcasing women up to 600 pounds, Loloi shows a softness and beauty to an often ignored body type.
On his website Loloi writes: “I believe we own ‘freedom of taste’ and one shouldn’t be reluctant of expressing his inclination towards it. Limiting this freedom is living in a dictatorship of aesthetics.”
Do you find Loloi’s photographs shocking or comforting? I’m curious to know your opinion, so sound off!
