Selena Haskins

Exploring the skills and talents of dynamic human beings, take on a forum all it’s own. When God created us, He did so with a purpose and talent in mind. We all have something in this world to contribute and those individuals with God given skills and talents are making their dreams a reality by living their lives with purpose.

Join me tonight at 8:00 PM on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via “Conversations Live” for interesting conversations with author and publisher, Selena Haskins (pictured above).

A native of Washington, DC, Selena enjoys writing books about the basis of life; family, love, and relationships. Her stories covers family dynamics, poverty, abuse, and many of the real issues facing African American communities. By the same token, Selena includes messages of hope, love and forgiveness, which she believes are the qualities to help heal a broken America.

Selena has written three best-selling books, and her new release, Riding the Waves is a sequel that addresses the life of childhood stars and the price of fame and fortune.

Hope you’ll tune in tonight with me for this awesome conversation.

Bobbi Kristina Brown: wanted to play the role of Whitney Houston

bobbi1f-1-web

In Angela Bassett’s upcoming production of her mother’s life however, Angela Bassett felt otherwise stating “I did not think about casting her”

Bassett, who is making her directorial debut with the Lifetime movie, told Entertainment Weekly on June 26. that she never considered Bobby Kristina for the role of her mother Whitney Houston “And probably for a number of reasons”.

“One being that she’s not an actress,” she continued. “I know she’s acted here and there. I know she’s been on their family’s reality show, but she’s not an actress and acting is a craft.”

Well Bobbi Kristina didn’t take Angela’s diss very well, so she took to her twitter page blasting Angela Bassett for her comments, even calling the well-known actress a “BITCH“.

“Ha MsAng ‘bassketcase’ has such a damn nerve my lord,” “At least the world doesn’t mistake me for the wrong sex … she has some #XtraEquipment.” Brown continued “When I win my first Grammy or Oscar, *Shrugs* hmm whichever comes 1st, I’ll be sure 2shout URname out b—h!” she continued. “Hah UrTestResults = Male. Lmao.”

The film will explore Houston’s relationship with the embittered daughter’s father, Bobby Brown. Bassett starred opposite Whitney Houston in Terry McMillan’s “Waiting to Exhale“.

There are lyrical artist popping up everywhere and rushing this generation by displaying their style and lyrical talents with a passion. Many emulate while adding their own flare to their music, while others are just gifted to flow.

Some artist handle the microphone and audience like pro’s and this is what I discovered when I heard and witnessed Val DeGrain, a young artist who graced the stage at an open MIC event, I attended a couple of months ago.

Val just released his new CD “2 cents” on April 20, 2014.

Join me tonight at 8:00 PM on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via “Conversations Live” as we talk about Val’s lyrical inspirations and the wide use of the “N” word in SOME of his music.

NBA Finals 2014

Miami Lost! …So will LeBron James Opt Out?

lebron-james-lost-tearsWith the 2014 NBA Finals over, one lingering question remains for LeBron James and the Miami Heat: will LeBron opt out of his contract at the end of this month or will he keep his talents in South beach?

LeBron’s failure to capture his 3rd NBA championship ring will probably weigh heavily on his decision.

The season ended Sunday night for LeBron James, three wins short of a three-peat — and it didn’t even seem that the best player on the planet came that close. He didn’t win the title, he didn’t match Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan with three straight championships, because in the end he got even less help from his Miami Heat teammates than he used to get when he was trying to do it all by himself with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Miami lost last night to the San Antonio Spurs, in game 5 of the NBA finals.

Chris Christie, Jimmy Fallon, Political scandal, Politics

Chris Christie backed it up on Jimmy Fallon last night!

And I must admit, the New Jersey Governor is slimming down nicely.

Trying to display a softer and cooler side, Christie took to the stage with some funny dance moves gearing up for a 2016 presidential run.

Fallon made a jab about the Bridgegate scandal in Thursday’s ‘Evolution of Dad Dancing’ skit, and the two discussed a ‘hypothetical’ run against Hillary Clinton in 2016. Christie said he could beat Hilary Clinton in a presidential run. I don’t think so, what do you think?
