Black Women Need Not Apply…Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Some black men don’t want to date, marry or fall in love with a black woman. And as shocking as this may sound, believe it or not, some men prefer to date outside of their race. There are several reasons for this and for the most part, it’s self-hatred.

In her written blog post, Tamyara Brown states:

“I live in a world where pale skin is accepted and dark skin isn’t for women. I don’t want my daughter from the day she is born called ugly. It is why I rather marry a Latina, or Asian woman she is guaranteed to be beautiful.”

she concludes:

“I realize after reading this passage from the letter society, ourselves as African American people have followed this to the very letter. As a little girl growing up I can admit I thought being lighter was better. No one liked my skin complexion. In our defense we are trained more than we think. How can we feel good about not liking what God has created so beautifully?”………Tamyara Brown

Gospel Singer Kim Burrell Warns More Gays Will Die in 2017

kim-burrell-550x399Pastor and gospel singer Kim Burrell is still catching backlash over her fiery sermon condemning gays for spreading HIV/AIDS in the church. In a video uploaded to Youtube.com, Burrell warned gays will die in 2017.

In the video, Burrell, 44, is heard saying, “Anyone filled with the homosexual spirit, beg God to free you. That perverted homosexual spirit and the spirit of delusion and confusion, it has deceived many men and women.”

Burrell, who is pastor and founder of Houston’s Love & Liberty Fellowship church in Houston, continued:

“You as a man, you open your mouth and take a man’s penis in your face, you are perverted! You are a woman and will shake your face in another woman’s breasts, you are perverted!”

She then targeted Bishop Eddie Long as an “embarrassment to the church”. The 63-year-old prosperity preacher based in Atlanta is rumored to be infected with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

“I’ve never seen anything as heartbreaking as Bishop Eddie Long go down to nothing,” Burrell remarked about recent photos of Long’s skeletal appearance.

Burrell’s fire and brimstone sermon implied that homosexuals in the church community are spreading HIV through unprotected sex.

34 years after the AIDS virus first scorched the earth, men who have sex with men (MSM) still lead the nation in new HIV contraction rates.

The HIV epidemic continues unabated in cities like NY, D.C. and Atlanta, where men forego condoms and take a drug known as PrEP to prevent HIV infection. But there are indications that the drug isn’t as effective due to new strains of the HIV virus.

A new campaign has been launched to convince black women to take PrEP. Black women are the 2nd group most likely to contract HIV from men who have sex with men.

Burrell was already backtracking from her controversial statements on Facebook Live. She said her warning of a deadlier HIV epidemic was taken out of context:

We’re not in a war against flesh and blood. I came on because I care about God’s creation and every person from the LGBT and anything else, any other kind of thing that is supporting gay. I never said LGBT last night. I said S.I.N. and whatever falls in the sin was preached.

“What I posted was not all I preached to. Isn’t that something? That is a design of the enemy to make it look like I have a personal agenda against [gay] people. To the carnal all things are carnal, and to the spiritual all things are spiritual.”

Burrell is scheduled to appear on the Ellen Degeneres’s daytime talk show on January 5th. And we all know Ellen is openly gay.

Black churches push ‘souls to the polls,’ while Latino voter turnout surges

churches7n-1-webWhile Black clergy in New York, New Jersey and around the country used the last Sunday before Election Day to move “souls to the polls,” Hispanic groups and Hispanic voters are rocking the vote and mobilizing voter turnout ahead of tomorrow’s presidential election.

Early voting data suggest black voter turnout will not be as high in this election contest between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump as it was four years ago, when the country voted to reelect President Obama, the nation’s first African-American President. The momentum is just not that strong, as Obama has stressed his own legacy is on the line  in his push for Hilary Clinton.

In the meantime, Hispanics and Latinos across the country are turning out in droves as a vengeance against Donald Trump, therefore they are resounding a message that  “It’s time to reject hatred, reject negativity, reject division with a resounding result on Tuesday.”

hillary-upton-rallies

While the black vote appears to be on a downward swing this election, early tallies suggest a record turnout by Hispanics, who have voted at lower rates than whites and blacks in past elections. But not this year, Hispanics appear to be reacting to Trump’s staunch and anti-immigrant rhetoric.

Those Hispanic Clinton supporters stated: “It would not be a very bright future if Donald Trump was elected,” “I do not believe in the building of a wall between Mexico and the United States. . . . I believe in immigrants’ rights.”

Mayor de Blasio (pictured up top with his wife), stumped for Clinton at five predominantly black churches in Brooklyn yesterday, arguing turnout is crucial, even in a safely Democratic state like New York.

We have a leader poised to make that change if she has our support and if we give her a mandate — not just in the quote-unquote swing states, but here in New York as well,” he said at the Christian Cultural Center. “Anyone know anyone who may not vote? I’m asking you to change their minds.”

De Blasio said an overwhelming Clinton victory would help the nation “heal” from the havoc caused by Trump’s campaign.

“Life and Death” is in the Power Of The Tongue on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

The-Power-of-The-Tongue-Raising-Sticky-Hands-To-HeavenHey “Conversations Of A Sistah” Family!!!

You do know, you are what you speak!!!

Your words are the outcome of your thoughts and if your thoughts are negative your words and beliefs will follow. Why? Because “Life and Death” is in the Power Of The Tongue!! If you speak death, you will kill your dreams and remain stagnant in every aspect of life.

The Proverb states: “As a man thinketh in his heart so is he,” which speaks and holds the key to every condition, good or bad, that enters into your life, and that, by working patiently and intelligently upon your thoughts, you may remake your life, and transform your circumstances. Any circumstance can be transformed with the knowledge and power of the right thoughts.

You do not attract what you want, you attract what you are! A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts, if he is negative he will think negative and herald negative results and outcomes. You can’t be anxious to improve your circumstances, but unwilling to improve yourself, by therefore remaining bound.

Join me “LIVE” on the air tonight at 6:30 p.m. EST on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via Blog Talk Radio, as I expound on the topic:: “Life and Death” is in the POWER OF THE Tongue!!!

Your Soulmate IS NOT your Significant Other, Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

SoulMates-largeI think we all have different definitions of a soul mate. We tend to believe that a soul mate is a lover, spouse or lifetime partner;  someone with whom we have or will develop a romantic relationship. This may be the case in some instances but not necessarily definitive.

A soul mate is a person with whom one has a feeling of deep or natural affinity. Affinity in terms of sociology, which refers to “kinship of spirit”, interest and other interpersonal commonalities.

In current usage, “soulmate” usually refers to a romantic partner, with the implication of an exclusive lifelong bond. This is to say, the word is used with more rarity than other terms associated with ‘romantic partner’. It is a very versatile term, being defined differently by different individuals, as it is related to the concept of love.

Soulmate commonly holds the connotation of being the strongest bond with another person that one can achieve. Soulmate is not used as often as other terms representing the same idea, and this is likely to lead to its perceived rarity in meaning. The definition ranges widely and cannot be pinpointed. It is commonly accepted that one will feel ‘complete’ once they have found their soulmate, as it is partially in the perceived definition that two souls are meant to unite.

Join me tonight at 6:30 p.m. EST on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via Blog Talk radio, as I reveal the real meaning of one’s soulmate. A bond that is NOT necessarily one tied in romance.
