OJ Simpson Granted Parole

After nearly nine years in prison, O.J. Simpson was granted his freedom today by four members of the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners and will leave prison on or after Oct. 1.

The Hall of Famer reacted emotionally and with a smile as each of the four delivered their votes on whether he should be freed after serving nearly nine years of a nine-to-33-year sentence for 12 convictions, including kidnapping and armed robbery, stemming from a 2007 sting operation in which he tried to recover sports memorabilia from two collectors.

Simpson said “Thank you” graciously as he stood to return to his cell.

Tulsa Cop Who Shot Terence Crutcher Found Not Guilty

Betty Shelby, the former Tulsa, Oklahoma cop who shot unarmed motorist Terence Crutcher during a traffic encounter, has been acquitted of manslaughter.

“I feared for my life,” she told a Tulsa jury on Monday.

The jury never got a chance to hear a comment made by Shelby’s husband, Officer David Shelby, calling Crutcher “a bad dude,” as he hovered in a helicopter over the scene.

Crutcher’s death touched off massive protests by Black Lives Matter and others around the country.

Video footage released by police showed Crutcher walking slowly toward his SUV while officers yelled orders at him to stop.

Shelby fired the shot that killed Crutcher without provocation as he stood outside his truck.

Ciara, Russell Wilson and Baby Future went nude for a sweet but weird maternity photo

Nude maternity photo shoots have been the rage since Demi Moore’s Vanity Fair cover ages ago.

Ciara added that twist by bringing Russell Wilson and Baby Future to a shoot she did for Harper’s Bazaar. The photo shows Ciara holding her son while Wilson kneels behind her with his hands on her pregnant belly.

It’s a touching pose but also weird and confusing. There are a lot of hands here and it took me way too long to figure out what exactly was going on. Having Wilson hide behind her like that may not have been the best artistic choice.

RIP: Bishop Eddie Long

Bishop Eddie Long has lost his battle with cancer, a New Birth Baptist Church spokesperson confirmed in a statement on Sunday. He was 63.

The church released a statement on Sunday, saying Mr. Long waged a “gallant private fight with an aggressive form of cancer.”.

The controversial preacher was the subject of many rampant rumors in his final months. He reportedly suffered from an aggressive form of duodenal adenocarcinoma (cancer of the small intestine), according to a church insider.

Duodenal adenocarcinoma is rare and deadly because it is often caught too late and spreads rapidly. The prognosis for this form of cancer is poor.

Since the tumor is located at the beginning of the small intestine, it sometimes blocks food from entering the intestine from the stomach.

Long is survived by his wife, Vanessa Long, his four children and three grandchildren.
