A man accused of slapping a crying 2-year-old baby on an Atlanta-bound Delta flight has been fired from his job, CNN.com reports.

Joe Rickey Hundley of Hayden, Idaho, was sitting across the aisle from Jessica Bennett, 33, of Minnesota, when he became belligerent toward Bennett whose 19-month-old son was crying.

The Delta Airlines flight was just minutes from landing at Hartsfield airport on Feb. 8, when the incident occurred.

Bennett said Hundley reeked of alcohol and was verbally abusive toward her when she was unable to calm her son who was crying from the change in cabin pressure.

Hundley allegedly told Bennett to “Shut that nigger baby up, according to an FBI affidavit obtained by CNN.

Jessica-Bennett-400x420Bennett told ABC News that Hundley was so drunk that he “fell onto my face and his mouth moved over to my ear and he said it directly in my ear.”

Bennett said that’s when Hundley slapped the boy’s face, which made the toddler wail even louder.

Bennett’s son Jonah, who is biracial, suffered a scratch under his right eye. She said Jonah was “traumatized” by the incident.

The incident sparked outrage on both sides of the pond Friday. Bennett, pictured above with her husband and below with Jonah, fielded calls for interviews from all over the world.

Hundley denied slapping the child or making racial slurs, after he was detained when the plane landed. He said he was on his way to Atlanta to be with a family member who was diagnosed with cancer. He said he had only one drink on the plane.

AGC Aerospace & Defense, where Hundley was employed, issued a statement on Sunday:

“Reports of the recent behavior of one of our business unit executives while on personal travel are offensive and disturbing,” said a statement from AGC Aerospace & Defense. “We have taken this matter very seriously and worked diligently to examine it since learning of the matter on Friday afternoon.

“As of Sunday, the executive is no longer employed with the company.”

Mississippi Still Racist in 2012!

About 600 ‘Ole Miss’ students gathered Wednesday for the “We Are One Mississippi” counter-protest. Racial slurs were used when about 400 students gathered to protest President Obama’s re-election Tuesday night. The Tuesday night protest grew to about 400 students after Obama was re-elected.

Some shouted, “The South will rise again” during the protest, eyewitnesses and university police officials told The Clarion-Ledger. Others used racial slurs. An Obama campaign sign was also burned.

University of Mississippi students held a candlelight march to protest a spontaneous anti-Obama demonstration on Election Night that turned ugly when some students shouted racial slurs.

Ole Miss is still grappling with its legacy as the setting of racial riots in 1962 after James H. Meredith was enrolled as the school’s first black student. Two people were killed in the violent protests, which forced President John F. Kennedy to send in federal troops.

“It just makes me angry that we’re celebrating 50 years of integration yet people decided to be stupid last night and throw a fit over the election,” student Jordan Price told WREG.

“There’s no place for something like this in our school,” student Mackenzie Widder said.

School and police officials told The Clarion-Ledger that some reports, including those describing the demonstration as a “riot,” were exaggerated.

Dean of Students Sparky Reardon said: “There were tens of thousands of other Ole Miss students who were studying or working for campus media or attending election watch parties. They were busy doing what Ole Miss does best”

The school is working on an appropriate response to the incident.

All of this took place because President Barack Obama was re-elected for a second term? What did they do four years ago when he was elected?

Obama Toilet Paper Offensive, 24 Hours before Election Day

Hello Ceo Readers, I pray everyone is safe and doing well after last week’s storm. Like most of you, our power was down and we had limited access to all of our online sources and internet services; but slowly and surely the recovery efforts are progressing.

With election day just 24 hours away, administrators in a South Florida firehouse found toilet paper with President Barack Obama’s face on it (as pictured above).

Some thought the prank paper at the Pompano Beach Fire Station should just be taken as a joke, but this line of thinking is not only pathetic but disrespectful, petty, low down and hateful. City officials say that offensive or divisive political statements do not belong on city property.

“If you have an opinion, you’re certainly entitled to it. Everyone has their opinion. Put it on your own personal vehicle or your own personal things,” Pompano Beach spokesperson Sandra King told WSVN. “But you don’t display it on city property, on city grounds that maybe someone else doesn’t agree with, that’s politically motivated, and it’s inappropriate.”

The administration launched an investigation immediately after hearing about the toilet paper.

The incident “is being fully investigated as a ‘politically motivated, conduct-unbecoming situation,’ and will continue to be considered accordingly unless the investigation reveals other motivations,” King told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in an email.

One year ago, a firefighter at the same station was asked to remove an anti-Obama bumper sticker from his locker. He obliged and admitted that he demonstrated poor taste by putting such a divisive political statement on municipal property.

When is enough going to be enough people? When?
