2014 Senate Seat, Corey Booker, New Jersey, Politics

From Newark’s Superman to the U.S. Senate

Newark Mayor Cory Booker has his sights set on greener pastures and it’s definitely beyond Broad Street in Newark, New Jersey. The second term Mayor of the brick city, formerly announced he’s in the race to finish the U.S. Senate term of the late Frank Lautenberg.

It seems as if Booker has lost his zest for the city of Newark and is no longer challenged by the constant antics for seeking media attention and prestige off of its good citizens. Guess he was tired of leaping into burning buildings by a single bound and saving senior citizens from fires that were never set ablaze.

Booker, 44, felt a political void and “played out” with nothing left to do in using a city of people who were no longer of interest to him. Aside from his alleged 1.4 million followers on Twitter and the fade of his failed reality show, Booker has long since been searching for something new. He’s tired of exploiting Newark as “YA-Mayor-ship; therefore Booker has to try and light those political embers again to prove his relevance.

Lautenberg’s corpse is not even set in his grave good and already the political vultures are vying for his seat.

My question is, what has Corey Booker done for the city of Newark that would define his legacy and set his trail to the Senate seat?

In my opinion, I think he’s fanned the flames but never put out the fire!

John McCain’s Son Marries a Black Girl!

mccain-wedding

Jack McCain, son of U.S. Senator John McCain of Arizona, married Renee Swift, last Saturday at San Francisco’s Grace Cathedral church.

Jack McCain serves as a lieutenant in the Navy, stationed in Guam where he is a helicopter pilot. Swift, 29, a Bay area native, is a captain in the USAF reserve. The couple met in Guam.

The couple planned to honeymoon in Africa, after which Jack McCain is slated for another deployment.

I wonder how John McCain’s colleagues on Capital Hill feel about his daughter-n-law of color. How interesting.

President Obama Rocked Bangs @ White House Dinner

President Barack Obama joked that he was following Michelle Obama’s style to increase his popularity. This image was seen during the 2013 White House Correspondents Dinner.

President Obama knew all too well about all of the media outlets talking about him and poked fun at their comments all night. He first made reference to a controversy over a History Channel show featuring a devil-playing actor with an uncanny resemblance to the President.

“The History Channel is not here. I guess they were embarrassed about the whole Obama-is-a-devil thing,” he said.

Also in attendance for the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner at the Washington Hilton were MSNBC personalities, Al Sharpton (looking like a shribbled up California raisin) and Chris Matthews.

Among some of the other bold-faced names in attendance were: singer Barbra Streisand, Korean  pop star Psy and Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz.

President Obama gets heat for saying Kamala Harris is ‘best looking attorney general’

CA_Attorney General_Obama

The media is all abuzz because President Barack Obama said California Attorney General Kamala Harris was the “best looking attorney general in the country”.

The unexpected comment ruffled the feathers of some observers and caused a  commotion on social media such as Twitter. Obama set up the remark with a heap of more conventional praise for Harris, 48,  who campaigned for him last year. “She is brilliant and she is dedicated and she is tough,” Obama said.

What came next was a compliment, but what was heard around the world was taken as and considered an uncharacteristic slip by the smooth-talking President Obama. The President’s critics immediately took it to Twitter where some Twitter users blasted his quip as “awkward” and even “sexist.”

I guess just about any and every thing that comes out of President Barack Obama’s mouth is easily misconstrued and twisted, by his “haters and constituents”.

President Obama is a politician is all and he’s learned how to play the game well and that includes schmoozing when he has too.

Do you think the President’s compliments about the attractive CA Attorney General were awkward and inappropriate? Sound off!

President Obama’s ‘Twin’ Cast as ‘Satan’ in History Channel’s ‘The Bible’

Some people are ridiculous when it comes down to their exaggerations. There is supposedly a striking resemblance between Satan in the History Channel’s series ‘The Bible’ and President Barack Obama.

I don’t see it; but the media is having a field day with it by saying there’s a comparison. The show’s ‘Satan’ character is dark-skinned, while President Barack Obama, who is mixed, is more fair-skinned.

From ONTD:

Coincidence, or not-so-subtle political commentary? A major hit already, History Channel’s 10-part miniseries The Bible is stirring up extra attention for its casting. The role of Satan, i.e. the bad guy, is played by the actor Mohamen Mehdi Ouazanni, who, thanks to makeup and other production tricks, bears a startling resemblance to President Barack Obama.

The resemblance was pointed out on Twitter while the show still aired on Sunday. Glenn Beck, the Christian conservative broadcaster who has called the series “one of the most important shows in decades,” sent out a tweet with a screenshot. Beck, who refuses to use Obama’s name, referred to the president as “That Guy.”
