Hate, Homophobia or the Word of God? Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

hate_homophobia_wog_cos_jan_2017-2We’re back!!! And tonight’s “Conversation” is going to be hot !!!

As we discuss how more than 1 million people watched Kim Burrell rail against “that perverted homosexual spirit” in a controversial sermon clip that led to the gospel singer getting pulled from a performance on “Ellen” and facing ongoing backlash from LGBT advocates.

She had been named a co-honoree at BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards, but the organization uninvited her due to the recent remarks. Also, her radio show — airing out of Texas Southern University — has been canceled.

Burrell’s two-minute clip of her message, filmed on a phone and posted on YouTube, shows Burrell describing sex acts and saying, “The spirit of delusion and confusion, it has deceived many men and women, and it’s caused a stain on the body of Christ.”

Her critics said her message was hate, other media outlets called it a homophobic rant, while believers state it’s the Word of God.

What do you say?

Join me tonight at 6:30 p.m. EST on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via blog talk radio as I discuss “Hate, Homophobia or the Word of God?” with three (3) dynamic ministers; Rev. Caffie Risher, Minister Tuala Williams-Shields and Pastor Josh Olivero.

Why this Fear going into the New Year? Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

mandela-fear-quoteSome of us have this fear in our hearts and in our spirits with uncertainty about the future. Everyone fears at some point in life however, our trust and faith must be bigger than our fears. The bigger your trust the smaller your fear becomes. And the more you trust the more you become a conduit for miracles.

The truth is, for most of us, fear is present on a regular basis, but the form in which it chooses to present itself is constantly changing. For some of us we experience fear in form of anxiety, a deep nervousness, confusion, a lack of motivation, uncertainty, or something unidentifiable deep within. In either case fear is magnified as a giant to overcome.

Since the 2016 election of president-elect Donald Trump, there are fears amongst people in this country regarding hate and violence in an already heightened society where injustices are present.

Join me tonight at 6:30 p.m. EST on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via blog talk radio for my final show of the year, for the discussion “fear going into the New Year?”

“Jesus is NOT the reason for the season” Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

009d6a_9df8225c18e3418382e11b63f232477dWe grew up believing in Santa Clause, the tooth fairy and the Easter Bunny, thinking all of these fictional characters were tied to our religious beliefs.

Some of us grew up being a part of the Christmas programs in our churches and in school, having these same beliefs reiterated and instilled in us by the Christmas programs we see on television and in movies. The programming was instilled to influence the masses and Christmas has become one of the biggest commercialized holidays of our time.

How did Jesus become a figure into all of this? When there is no documented facts that He was even born on December 25, Christmas day.

Join me tonight at 6:30 p.m. EST as I’m airing “LIVE” on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via Blog Talk Radio for my commentary Jesus IS NOT the reason for the season“. Tune in to find out the facts.

“Depression and the holiday season” tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

holiday-depressionThe holidays are supposed to be a time of joy and celebration, but for some people they are anything but….Because we all deal with different issues this holiday season, it is not always a joyous occasion. We all have different burdens that we may bare and the holiday season can unleash every ounce of one’s dysfunction.

Some people are dealing with sadness and the stress of spending time in a dysfunctional environment, being with a loved one or just dealing with loneliness.

Sadness and depression is real, and if your feelings of sadness during the holidays are accompanied by suicidal thoughts, do one of the following immediately:

  • Call 911.
  • Go immediately to a hospital emergency room.
  • Contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255).

In the meantime, tune in LIVE at 6:30 p.m. EST on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via blog talk radio for my monologue on this topic of discussion and how to deal with such despair.

Immigrants, Racism and Pandemonium!! Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

cwyumnbveaaui_aDonald Trump’s election as US President is showing signs of and producing an outpouring of race and hate in America, which mirrors and reflect the language he’s spoken in the past 18 months.

Trump supporters are expressing their hatred in live time, twitter and on social media outlets, telling immigrants they think are illegals to “pack your bags” and “get the fuck out.”

And because Donald Trump has failed to denounce the Ku Klux Klan in late February, he claims to be “the least racist person you have ever met,” and “not having a racist bone in his body.” Despite his denouncement he’s given us alot of reason to believe otherwise. Especially since he’s won the praise of this country’s strongest white supremacist.

Since the Trump win, hate crimes, harassment and killings have been at an all-time high. Immigrants across the country and throughout different states, are scared to death of being targeted or deported.

This in the wake of an Ohio State University student who carried out a knife attack on campus Monday who said in a Facebook post how he was “sick and tired” of seeing fellow Muslims “killed and tortured,” according to federal law enforcement officials.

Americans fear the actions of this one man, who’s been elected to the highest office in the land. And since his win as the next US president, there’s been nothing but hatred, race relation matters and pandemonium.

Tune in tonight at 6:30 p.m. EST on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via blog talk radio for my monologue on this topic.

I will be taking your calls in the studio on this subject at 1-917-889-7872, just press “1” to speak to the host.
