Dwayne Wade will release his new book: “Father First”

Two time NBA champ and Miami Heat star, Dwayne Wade shares his personal triumph and tribulations in his upcoming  memoir, A Father First: How My Life Became Bigger Than Basketball.

The father of two sons, Zaire & Zion, Wades book will be released on September 4, 2012 but it’s available for pre-order now at Amazon.

Although this book gives us insight into the mentors, coaches, and teammates who helped play a vital role in Dwayne Wade’s development as a star athlete, it also serves as a call-to-action to all parents to step up and be a part of their children’s lives.

Unbelieveable!!! I know some brothers who could use this book.

Happy Birthday Whitney Houston…

Today would have been Whitney Houston’s 49th birthday, so in her honor TriStar Pictures is honoring her memory by encouraging folks to check out the trailer for her final film. “Sparkle” which will be released in theatres next Friday (August. 17.). I’ve already seen the film and it was a real tear jerker for me.

The film does includes a few moments that seem eerily prophetic, especially when Whitney says to these girls who play her daughters: “Was my life not enough of a cautionary tale for you?” Houston’s character asks at one point.

Whitney Houston starring as the mom of three daughters who start a Motown girls’ group, was a bit unrealistic to me.

Houston’s character is a former singer wary of the perils of showbiz. She sings “His Eye is On the Sparrow,” which is sure to be a moving moment on the big screen and seems destined for an iTunes release as a single.

Happy Birthday Whitney Houston, 6 months after your death and you’re sorely missed!

Wesley Snipes turns “50” while serving time…

The actor best known for “Demolition Man”, “White Men Camp Jump”, “Mo Better Blues”, “Jungle Fever” and the decent heart-throb in “Waiting To Exhale” just to name a few; turned fifty (50) years old yesterday at McKeaon Federal Correctional Institution.

McKeaon is a medium-security prison in northwest Pennsylvania. However Snipes is now at the adjacent prison camp, a minimum security “Club Fed,” where he is known as inmate number 43355-018.

In 2008, Snipes was convicted of three misdemeanor counts of failing to file tax returns. He reported to prison on December 9, 2010 and is due to be released July 19, 2013.

It has been rumored for years that Wesley don’t care for black women, we don’t know how true that is but if you want to sent him a belated birthday card, do so at the following address: Federal Prison Camp McKean, P.O. Box 8000, Bradford, PA 16701; inmate number 43355-018…

Happy ’50th’ birthday Wesley, I’m sure your movie comeback upon your prison release next year will be big. We can’t wait!

Fantasia Barrino broke down in tears at her birthday concert…

Fantasia Barrino broke down on stage during an emotional set at her birthday concert in Trinidad…

Witnesses claim Fantasia burst into tears while singing her hit song ‘Even Angels’ and told the crowd:

“This year, we lost Whitney Houston…They just wouldn’t leave her alone. They did not understand that she was only human. We lose family, friends, all for the love of money. The only person who will never leave you is Jesus.”

Maybe Fantasia became emotional because she was touched by the song? Maybe the song reminded her of Whitney Houston? There could be many reasons but thanks to loyal CEO reader Nicole for the story tip and photo.

Bobby Brown’s Performance On The Today Show…

Bobby Brown, 43, kicked off the summer season this memorial day with a live performance this morning on the Today Show. While the singer looked good and his voice sounds pretty much the same, his performance was mediocre. Brown would sing a few cords of his famous hits and then be completely out of breath., which means he’s out of shape for performing.

Toni Braxton said it best: “You can’t drink, smoke and party and expect to give a stella performance”. It takes being in shape both physically and vocally to hold those notes and move around on stage.

Bobby is on tour promoting his latest album “The Masterpiece,” and dedicated one of his most popular songs, “Every Little Step,” to U.S. troops, some of whom were in the crowd on the plaza.

“The Masterpiece” drops on June 5.
