“Police Make An Arrest In Fatal Shooting Of DJ Megatron”

According to the NY Daily News, police have made an arrest for the murder of DJ Megatron, a popular New York DJ who worked for BET’s 106 & Park.

Police charged William Williams, 21, and Richard Cromwell, 20, with murder, robbery and criminal possession of a handgun. They were awaiting arraignment Wednesday night.

Police say Megatron, real name Corey McGriff, 32, was on the hunt for marijuana around 2 a.m. March 27 when the two men approached him on Osgood Avenue, about a block from his Staten Island brownstone.

McGriff’s 4-year-old son, who was left home alone, may have watched from the doorway of the family residence as one of the suspects shot his father once in the chest.

Williams and Cromwell, who both have lengthy criminal records, rifled through McGriff’s pockets, robbing him of a wad of cash and an inexpensive wristwatch that his 11-year-old daughter had given him as a gift.

The watch held sentimental value for McGriff, according to his grieving mother, Louvenia McGriff, 60. “He loved it because she gave it to him,” she told the NY Daily News from her Georgia home.

Police recovered the watch after it was discarded by McGriff’s heartless murderers. “They threw it away probably because they realized it wasn’t valuable,” she said.

An anonymous caller gave police the tip they needed to apprehend the suspects. “That is a risky thing to do,” McGriff’s mother said of the anonymous caller.

“They’re sacrificing themselves for justice. That speaks volumes about my son. I’m so grateful to everybody for what they’ve done.”

She said the family is preparing to see the alleged killers in court.

“I want to look in their eyes and I want to know why they had to kill him,” she said. “Why kill him?”

“It’s a hard thing to swallow,” said her husband, Leo McGriff. “We’ll be doing a lot of crying.”

“11-Year Old Boy Arrested For Teasing Muslim Classmate”

An 11-year-old Staten Island boy was arrested and thrown into jail yesterday for allegedly teasing a 13-year-old Muslim girl.

Osman Daramy, pictured above, with his feet shackled in chains, appeared in a New York courtroom today. His stepfather, Frank Davies also attended the proceedings which was covered extensively by the media. Apparently, the little boy called the Muslim girl names and attempted to snatch her religious headdress off. The incident has been labled an anti-muslim hate crime.

Pipsqueak punk Osman Daramy was all obnoxious smiles and obscene gestures yesterday as he was hauled into court on hate-crime charges for allegedly assaulting and trying to rip off the religious headdress of a female Muslim classmate.

The 11-year-old Osman — whose own mother is a Muslim — had taunted the 13-year-old girl during one assault, saying, “Aren’t you the Muslim girl we beat up? We’ll beat you up again,” a prosecutor alleged yesterday.

“It was not one incident. It was a continued course of behavior,” Assistant District Attorney Teresa Wilson told a Staten Island Family Court judge a day after Osman’s arrest.

Daramy was charged with third-degree assault as a hate crime and have a history of being a “kid out of control”. School staffers described the sixth-grader as a wild child who “does whatever he wants.”

“He’s out of control,” a staffer said. “I’ve seen him run through the hallways like a terror. He will hit students he doesn’t even know.”

On Monday, Daramy chopped off a fellow student’s hair and caused a ruckus as he ran around the classroom waving a pair of scissors, a source said.

Daramy was also one of five kids who robbed a deliveryman dropping off pizza and soda to an “IS 49” after-school program two weeks ago, sources said. He eluded arrest. So some staffers feel, this was long over due.

“She Was Shocked To Find Out, Her Lover’s Grandmother Was Dead In The Closet”

This is Nakeema Craig, 20, and she was laid up with Larry Davis for two days, not knowing that his dead grandmother was stuffed in the closet.

Cops found the elderly woman’s body under a pile of clothes in the closet of her bedroom, just a few feet away from where Craig and Larry Davis laid up for two days, drinking and smoking pot with him and his friends.

“I was basically in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Craig told the Daily News on Thursday. “It’s real scary for me – I can’t believe I was laid up in the house the whole time with a dead body.” “I never saw his grandmother,” she said. “I didn’t know she was in the apartment the whole time.”

Cops cuffed Ms. Craig after they made the shocking discovery and began to ask her about Larry Davis, who has a history of arrests. Craig was released from the 25th Precinct after a full 24 hours of questioning.

“If he was in the house, he gotta know what’s going on, he had to know what happened to her ” she said. “And how could he feel comfortable with his grandma there like that?”

She said this bizarre incident taught her a valuable lesson.

“Never again am I going to go to a stranger’s home like that,” Craig said. “I was raised by my grandmother, and I’d never do that to her, to anybody!”

“Grandmother Dead In Closet While Grandson Was Sexing”

This story is gruesome, especially since Larry Davis, 21, had absolutely no regard for the fact that his 76-year-old grandmother, Cora Davis was found dead in the same bedroom where he was having sex. Only she was stuffed in a closet covered with clothing.

When relatives hadn’t heard from 76-year-old Cora Davis for two days, they rushed to her apartment, only to find, her grandson having sex with a woman in the same room, police sources said.

An argument erupted and one of the relatives threatened to call police, when Davis ran off. The woman he was having sex with – a 20 year-old prostitute, stayed behind. Cops arrived and searched the apartment, finding Cora Davis’ body crammed in the bedroom’s closet under a pile of clothes.

Investigators found signs of hemorrhaging around Davis’ eyes which suggest she may have been strangled.

Law enforcement sources said there were several domestic incident reports filed at the home, but none involved violence. The elderly woman also had an order of protection out against her grandson.

Larry Davis, who is still being sought by police, was arrested early this month for trespassing.

“Police Investigating This Beating As A Hate Crime”

Damian Furtch (pictured above), posted pictures of his injuries from a possible hate crime on his Facebook page.

Damian was left with two black eyes and multiple stitches after he was beaten at a West Village McDonald’s that cops are now investigating as a hate crime.

The confrontation started in the fast-food restaurant and spilled out onto Sixth Ave early Sunday, where Damian Furtch, 26, says he was set upon.

He and a friend had just left their jobs at the nearby Pink Tea Cup Restaurant and were inside the McDonald’s (below) when the two attackers started to harass them.

As Furtch was getting his butt kicked, that’s when the anti-gay epithets started to fly., all because he was wearing fluorescent colored clothing. Furtch later wrote on Facebook with the pictures of his injuries:

“I thought I was safe in the city I loved but apparently wearing fluorescent colored clothing and pink shoelaces really bother some fucking assholes to blind side me and hit me”  He angrily captioned the disturbing images, “Four Stitches, Thanks Bitches!”

An aspiring actor and model, Damian Furtch had just moved to New York from California.

Police are still searching for his attackers.

Nobody deserves to be beaten and/or harassed, regardless of their ethnicity or sexual preferences.
