So tune in tonight as I discuss “Will the Republicans win the Senate in 2014?”.

In a year when Republicans have been able to harness economic anxiety to their distinct advantage, the upcoming Senate election is crucial this year. It is increasingly clear that states such as, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas and North Carolina will be the most crucial in determining which party controls the Senate.

According to CNN, nearly 7 in 10 Americans are angry at the direction the country is headed and 53% of Americans disapprove of President Barack Obama’s job performance and a dysfunctional Washington, two troubling signs for Democrats one week before the midterm elections.

Democrats are battling to try and save the Senate majority, while hoping to prevent more losses in the House, which the GOP controls by a 234 to 201 margin. Yet several state polls in the past month of contested races show that Democrats are in danger of losing control of the majority.

In the meantime, the GOP’s plan and position has been to block the vote. To discourage minorities from voting in those southern states where democratic president Barack Obama won big in 2008 and in 2012.

What’s your opinion, will the GOP control the Senate?

Will you rock your vote or allow your state to block your vote?

Sound off here and I’ll see you on the air!

Masking the pain of Domestic Violence… Tonight on Conversations Of A Sistah

In light of the recent events in the news with the video going viral of NFL player Ray Rice knocking the crap out of his then fiancé, Janay Rice, (who months later became his wife) in an Atlantic City hotel, this incident sparked new conversations concerning Domestic Violence.

Nationally, nearly 10% of all homicides are committed by an intimate partner (spouse, boyfriend and/or girlfriend), according to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting data from 2012. Of all the homicides known to be committed by an intimate partner, 80% of the victims are women.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and for most victims of domestic violence, there is no witness, no camera. For about half, there is no police report. So the extraordinary footage of the Ray Rice incident is shedding new light on a problem hidden behind so many closed doors, which is why Domestic Violence can be so easily masked behind pain.

Join me tonight at 8:00 PM on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via “Conversations Live” as I talk… masking the painful reality of Domestic Violence.

Ebola Virus…Panic or pandemonium?? Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Ebola

Talks and reports of this Ebola epidemic is on every newspaper, internet and media outlet throughout the country. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta (CDC) reports that doctors and nurses are fleeing the Ebola hot zones in Liberia amid fears that the virus is more easily transmitted than first assumed.

A report conducted by doctors at the CDC noted: “Before the epidemic, six physicians served all four counties. At the time of the evaluation, only three physicians remained; the others had left Liberia because of the epidemic.”

This report comes amid news that a Spanish nurse is the first to be diagnosed with Ebola outside of West Africa.

The CDC has assured the public that the risk of catching Ebola is small if the patient is not exhibiting symptoms. But that doesn’t explain how trained doctors and nurses who are dressed from head to toe in protective suits are contracting Ebola so easily.

Is it true that this deadly disease was manufactured to kill Africans and just wipe out the majority of the black race?
