Mississippi town stunned by murder of openly gay mayoral candidate Marco McMillian

mcmillian1n-1-web
Marco McMillian was considered by many to be a man on the rise. The first openly gay mayoral candidate’s body was found near a Mississippi River levee Wednesday morning and stunned residents of his hometown in Clarksdale, Miss.  Authorities are investigating McMillian’s death as a homicide but declined to speculate on the cause of death. Authorities have also said a person of interest was in custody, but released no other details about his murder.

McMillian was a highly respected person in town, the 34-year-old Democrat wasn’t running what many would consider a typical campaign for political office in Mississippi, which is known for its conservative politics.

McMillian, was not only nice looking but he was promising. He had forged ties while serving four years as international executive director of the historically black Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. Photos on McMillian’s website and Facebook page show him with a younger Barack Obama, former President Bill Clinton and with U.S. Rep. John Lewis, a Georgia Democrat.

Authorities had been looking for McMillian since Tuesday morning when a man crashed the candidate’s SUV into another vehicle on U.S. Highway 49. McMillian was not in the car.

McMillian was hoping to win the office being vacated by Mayor Henry Espy Jr.

Beyonce Sung National Anthem At Obama 2nd Term Inauguration – OR did she?

beyonce day

No she didn’t!!!!

The cat was snatched out of the bag today and Beyoncé’s secret was leaked out, that she lip synced the national anthem at President Obama’s 2nd term inauguration yesterday; either way I wasn’t impressed.

The singer songwriter and producer Beyoncé, doesn’t have the vocals to carry such a powerful song as the National Anthem; which is why I knew she was the WRONG choice to deliver for the event.

Beyoncé is more or less, a burlesque singer/entertainer who can entertain and hold a note but gone are the days of real talents such as Whitney Houston with the exception of Jennifer Hudson of course.

I sat there baffled as the crowd went crazy as if, Beyoncé had delivered a rousing rendition of the popular anthem, when her performance was sub par to say the least.

a U.S. Marine Band spokeswoman said today.

The band wasn’t playing when Beyoncé performed her rousing rendition of the national anthem at President Obama’s second inauguration.

“We all know Beyoncé can sing,” Master Sgt. of the U.S. Marine Band Kristin DuBois told ABC News today. “We all know the Marine Corps Band can play. We do not know why she decided to go with the pre-recorded music at the last-minute.”

DuBois later added that, to her knowledge, Beyoncé was not singing. It was Beyoncé’s voice, but a pre-recorded version heard by about a million people in Washington and millions more on television.

A representative for Beyoncé did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

DuBois also added, all other performances such as Kelly Clarkson’s rendition of “My country tis of thee” was live. The band was asked not to play for only the national anthem, DuBois added.

Beyoncé knew she couldn’t carry that song and lip synced “IT” to be on the safe side. The “Love on top” singer might be able to hold/carry a note but her vocals can’t carry that national anthem.

More on the Presidential inauguration after the break.

“Michelle Obama “WOWS” at The Kennedy Center Honors”

Michelle Obama
Michelle Obama

Stars from New York, Hollywood and the music world joined President Barack and First lady Michelle Obama at the White House on Sunday night to salute the honorees, whose ranks included: actor Dustin Hoffman, Chicago bluesman Buddy Guy, ballerina Natalia Makarova, David Letterman and rock band Led Zeppelin at The Kennedy Center Honors.

Michelle Obama was sharp in a dazzling gold evening gown and although the White House declined to name the designer, we know it’s a Michael Kors gold lame chiffon gown from his Resort 2013 collection.

I’m not always crazy about what our first lady wears but when her outfit is a winner (like this one), I have to talk about it.

Is Michelle Obama sharp or what?

Confusion, Controversy, Corey Booker, Drama, Fraud, Newark Mayor, Politics, Violence

So “Corey Booker” is a Crook just like the rest of em…

I thought he was Newark’s night and shining armor? I thought he was able to leap tall buildings by a single bound? I thought he was faster than a speeding bullet? Especially when he was all over Newark during last year’s snow storm, aiding the elderly and helping Newark residents get plowed out. But it turns out Newark Mayor Corey Booker, is a shyster just like the rest of them.

Chaos and confusion broke out last Wednesday (November 21) in a Newark city council meeting when Mayor Booker, did some dirty political maneuvering to break a tie vote between John Sharpe James by making the deciding vote with his council allies for Shanique Davis Speight (inset photo), his longtime friend.  Booker’s actions caused a near-riot in city hall and Newark residents, in conjunction with union thugz, rushed the stage and lunged at the Booker’s new council crony, Shanique Davis Speight.

After weeks of jockeying for Rep. Donald Payne’s successor, Booker made an unprecedented personal appearance to cast the deciding vote with his council allies for Shanique Davis Speight, despite the angry objections of Newark residents.

One faction of the council wanted to appoint former Newark Mayor Sharpe James’ son, John Sharpe James, who is a vocal opponent of Corey Booker, while another faction allied with Booker preferred Shanique Davis Speight, making the vote between the two; a tie.

After the vote, residents who opposed Speight’s appointment and Corey Booker’s power play started chanting “Cory’s gotta go!” while Muhammad a union leader, who is a male, led a mob and “stormed the dais and appeared to lunge toward Speight,” who was with her “grade-school-age son.” Officers had to douse Muhammad and other residents with pepper spray to restrain them from doing more damage.

Mayor Booker was criticized for staying in a back room with his staff to avoid the mob scene. If he had nothing to hide, he would have addressed the people boldly; and stood by his position and his decision.

Sounds like Corey Booker’s “star is fading fast” and his heroic efforts of supposedly saving his neighbor from her burning home is a thing of the past.

Obama Arrives in NYC to Survey Damage!

And was greeted when he walked off Airforce One by, New York Governor Cuomo, Housing Secretary Shaun Donovan, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

“We’re going to have to put some of the turf battles aside,” Obama said in remarks on the ravaged eastern shore of Staten Island. “We’re going to have to make sure that everybody is focused on doing the job as opposed to worrying about who is getting the credit or who is getting the contracts, or all that stuff that sometimes goes into the rebuilding process.”

In a three-hour sweep through storm-ravaged neighborhoods that included a helicopter tour of southern Brooklyn and Queens and meetings with storm victims on Staten Island, the President spoke in general terms about his commitment to help the city — but made no specific promises.

“I’m very proud of you, New York,” Obama said after walking through a Staten Island neighborhood that was devastated by the historic hurricane. “You guys are tough. You bounce back.”
