Kwame Kilpatrick gets 28 years in prison

Kwame

He had it all, first serving as a democratic delegate in the house of representatives, then elected the first young African-American mayor in the city of Detroit. He made his mother Carolyn-Cheeks Kilpatrick (former U.S. House Representative) proud, after-all it seemed he was following in her footsteps with a successful career in politics.

None-the-less, all of those hopeful dreams came crashing down after the former mayor was sentenced to twenty-eight (28) years in a federal prison for public corruption today.

Kilpatrick had a lot of dirt on his hands and all of these crimes are compounded by the involvement of other city officials as well. Thirty four other people have been convicted in connection with this public corruption case.

Kilpatrick took bribes, misused nonprofit funds and abused his power as mayor, to steer an astounding amount of business to a best friend. He had affairs, elaborate strip parties, spa weekends, took jet-setting trips to Las Vegas at his leisure and had his entire family on the payroll at Detroit’s city hall.

There were a lot of key players on Kilpatrick’s team and their sentencing day will follow next week, including his father Bernard Kilpatrick who faces up to three years in prison on a single tax charge.

Dental Hygienist Who Rammed Car into White House Gate Thought Obama Was Stalking Her

Miriam Carey

A Connecticut woman who was shot and killed by Capitol Police in Washington, D.C. Thursday may have suffered from postpartum depression and paranoid delusions.

Miriam carey, a 34-year-old dental hygienist, was shot after she rammed a gate on the southeast side of the White House on Thursday.

According to a NBC report, Carey believed President Obama was stalking her.

Her mother, Idella Carey, told ABC News Carey suffered from postpartum depression after giving birth to her daughter Erica last year.

The 1-year-old girl was in the back seat of Carey’s black Nissan Infinity sedan when she drove 270 miles from her home in suburban Stamford.

Witnesses say Carey plowed her car into a barrier near the White House, hitting a Secret Service officer who tried to wave her down. The impact sent him flying over the car’s hood. The Secret Service officer sustained minor injuries.

Capitol Police officers opened fire on the car as Carey sped off. She led Capitol Police on a high-speed chase through the streets of Washington, D.C. One officer was injured when he lost control of his cruiser and slammed into a concrete barrier.

Moments later, Carey rammed her car into a gate near the U.S. Capitol. Police surrounded the car and fired a dozen rounds into the vehicle.

Carey was pronounced dead at a D.C. hospital. Miraculously little Erica was not injured. She is in the care of child protective services.

“Zimmerman supposedly had no gun during domestic dispute”

Shellie Zimmerman

But, according to Lake Mary (Florida) police, Zimmerman did not have a gun during a domestic dispute with his wife, Shellie, at his father-in-law’s house yesterday.

However, later on during an interview on CNN, O’Mara (Zimmerman’s attorney) admitted Zimmerman did have a gun on him, but “He never took the weapon out.”

The conflicting stories proves just how far the police community in Florida will go to protect their famous citizen.

Shellie declined to press charges — despite telling police George punched her father in the face and cut her iPad with a pocket knife.

O’Mara called the dispute “Silly stuff” over divvying up “pots and pans and dishes,” in the wake of a divorce filing by Shellie.

Zimmerman’s friend, Frank Taafe called Shellie “a convicted perjurer” who was upset because Zimmerman arrived at the home with a blond woman. Zimmerman’s acquittal is giving his ego boost a feel of fame that’s enjoying.

On HLN’s Dr “Drew On Call” Monday night, Taafe said, “George and Shellie were separated” on the night Trayvon was shot and killed by Zimmerman. He said Shellie had already moved out of their marital house and was “staying with a friend” 2 weeks before the shooting.

This information was never made public for obvious reasons.

Instead of keeping a low profile, Zimmerman has been pulled over for speeding twice, and he toured the gun factory where the weapon he used to shoot Trayvon was made.

So Tawana Brawley lied!

?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

We all remember this case that stayed in the news and pushed Al Sharpton to the forefront as an activist.

In 1987, Tawana Brawley the then 15-year-old teen who falsely accused former New York prosecutor Steven Pagones, 52, of gang raping and kidnapping her, while naming him a racist.

Brawley had been well hidden and alluding the scandal by living in rural town in Virginia under the alias of Tawana Thompson and Tawana Gutierrez. Well Tawana has been ordered to pay Mr. Pagones $431,000 in damages, which Brawley sent him her first payment in ten (10) checks totaling $3,764.61 last week. This comes after a Virginia court ordered the money garnished from Brawley’s wages as a nurse.

This payment comes 15 years after a court ruled that Brawley defamed Pagones with a nasty hoax that ruined his life and sullied his reputation.

Brawley’s advisers in the case; the Reverend Al Sharpton, and attorneys C. Vernon Mason and Alton Maddox have already paid, or are paying their debt to Pagones. Until now, Brawley, 41, has refused to pay out but she is now forced to cough up $627 each month to the man who is one of three whose name she dragged through the mud in 1987.

Brawley will possibly pay this debt to Pagones for the rest of her life however, he is willing to drop the debt owed by Brawley if she would simply confess that she lied on him. Pagones also made note how, Sharpton and his crew have not spoken about this case since the outcome. I’m sure all men involved realize that Brawley made a fool out of them all.

“Not Guilty” So why is God being blamed? Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

George Zimmerman (right), a neighborhood watch volunteer in Sanford, said he was acting in self-defense when he shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin on Feb. 26, 2012.

Since the “not guilty” verdict of George Zimmerman in the killing of Trayvon Martin, the media has been abuzz with all kinds of outlandish and racist rhetoric regarding the outcome of the case. One Ivy League religious studies professor even called God a white racist in the wake of Zimmerman’s acquittal.

The questions being asked to me on and offline is, where does God stand in all of this? Why has God turned his back on this tragic situation? People are searching for answers and can’t understand why God has allowed such an injustice act to prevail.

Join me live on the air tonight at 8:00 PM on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via “Conversations Live” as I address God’s position concerning this matter.

I will also be taking your calls, questions and comments on the air at 1-347-426-3645, please press “1” to speak to the host.

Until then, sound off here and I’ll meet you tonight on the air.
