Sex Scandal!

Chief Ministry Officer Darius Wise, of  New Birth Baptist Church is speaking up about sex scandal charges surrounding the church’s embattled pastor Bishop Eddie Long.

“If indeed there were people aware of this kind of situation, they would have been reported. So there’s no way that individuals here at New Birth could have been aware of those kind of allegations and not communicate”

“The list goes on and on of people who can tell the same story that I’m telling here today that Bishop Long has been an incredible blessing in their lives,” Wise said.

Wise, who is in his 30s, said, he met Bishop Long 12 years ago while he was a freshman at Morris Brown College and said, “the bishop mentored him and helped him become the man he is today.”

Wise dismissed the pictures floating around the Internet that show the bishop wearing spandex shorts and muscle shirts. B.J. Bernstein, the attorney for the plaintiffs, alleges the bishop sent those photos to the young men.

“For him to be as conscious as he is about his health about his physique that’s not uncommon to take a picture of yourself,” Wise said.

As for the grown men who allege that the bishop “sexually abused” them when they were in their late teens to early twenties, Wise said, “We are praying for you. We are desperately praying for those guys.”

In the meantime, a DeKalb county judge has agreed to hear the charges contained in the 4 lawsuits filed by the young men who allege sexual abuse at the hands of Bishop Eddie Long, pastor of the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.

“Delonte West Didn’t Bed LeBron’s Mom”

Well that’s what he said anyway, to finally put those rumors to rest!

Finally, LeBron’s former teammate has been asked directly about the gossip. According to the Boston Globe, a reporter asked West if he slept with Gloria James.

“Not at all,” West replied. “I come from an era where you don’t say nothing bad about someone’s parent, so not at all.” West, now with the Boston Celtics, is looking forward to playing with his new team. “There’s a lot of excitement here,” he said.

I’m guessing, the reason Delonte said he comes “from an era where you don’t say nothing bad about someone’s parent,” is because the rumor itself is a shocking disgrace to both LeBron and his mother.

Amidst the allegation of sexual coercion and inappropriate behavior, brought on by four plaintiffs in a law suit against Bishop Eddie Long; sources now say, Bishop Long entertains young men at a million dollar penthouse in downtown Atlanta.

HipHopBlog.com’s sources have revealed that there is a million dollar penthouse in Atlanta’s midtown district that is allegedly owned by Bishop Eddie Long.

Several employees and residents at the posh Twelve Atlantic Station sites have noted, that Long’s visitors have been predominantly young black men.

Long also uses said penthouse as an office location as well.

“Update: Long Stepping Down After Sunday’s Address”

This is all in light of 30 young men who have already contacted BJ Bernstien the lawyer who filed the civil suit on behalf of Anthony Flagg, Maurice Robinson and Jamal Parris, and both Long and the Church are fearful more are coming

A fourth young man has come forward and said he had sexual relations with Bishop Eddie Long when he was a teenager, the Associated Press reports. His latest accuser, Spencer LeGrande, claims he was 17 when he began a sexual relationship with Long while accompanying the bishop on a trip to Nairobi, Kenya. Read more…

Our source also tells us that Long had initially planned to step down from the Church today, however, with plans to address the congregation in this Sunday’s sermon it’s likely that he will announce his decision to take a reprieve from his duties when he is at the pulpit on Sunday.

An additional source familiar with Long and his practices at New Birth tells us that it’s a definite possibility that there could be at least that many plaintiffs, since Bishop Long selects new “Spiritual Sons” regularly and has been doing so for years!!!

“Eddie Long Is Defended By His Spokesperson”

New Birth Missionary Baptist Church continues to defend its embattled Pastor, Bishop Eddie Long, who stands accused of using his excessive influence over young men in his ministry by coercing them into providing him with sexual favors in return for cash and lavish gifts.

The plaintiffs, Anthony Flagg, 21, and Maurice Robinson, 20, of DeKalb County, filed lawsuits against Long and his ministry on Tuesday.

Art Franklin, the head of public relations for New Birth Missionary Baptist Church called into the V-103 Frank and Wanda Morning show this morning to categorically deny the allegations against Long.

Franklin said the church found out about the allegations through the media. “We have not actually been served any copies of the lawsuits,” he told Frank Ski, who is a staunch supporter of Long and a longtime member of New Birth Missionary Baptist church.

Rumor has it that Franklin himself was caught up in a similar sex scandal when his wife divorced him, citing extramarital affairs — with other men.

Meanwhile, industry insiders are whispering that the allegations contained in the lawsuits are just the tip of the iceberg. “This is about to be Tiger Woods part 2,” said one source who is close to the New Birth camp.

The source said Long was often seen in the company of young boys who he wined and dined in fancy restaurants.

“These boys are older now and they are no longer getting money from the church,” said the source, indicating that more lawsuits will soon follow.

In the meantime, New Birth Ministries took down its website last night, most likely to scrub the website of pictures or other damaging info that might hurt their case.
