“He Told A Brooklyn Judge: “Suck My Dick”

Those were Zaire Paige’, 24, choice words before he was hit with 107 years to life in prison for killing Lethania Garcia and wounding four others in a brazen October 2008 Fort Greene shootout.

“With all due respect and from the bottom of my heart, suck my dick.”

“I respectfully decline your offer,” the judge dead-panned. “You are a danger to all civilized members of society.”

While he might be a danger to a civilized society, his choice of words to the judge in an open courtroom were a flat-out disgrace!

Page along with Robert Crawford was convicted in a lunchtime attack on Garcia, 20. The pair tracked him down as he left a state court, opened fire and continued to shoot inside a hair salon, killing their target and wounding four others, including off-duty cop Andrea Cox.

Crawford was sentenced to 53 years in prison last month.

“Can Mayor Corey Booker Revive Newark?”

Booker has succeeded where every past Newark mayor failed. Booker is one of Newark’s greatest resources with his Oprah connection and after receiving the charitable whims of a 26-year-old billionaire, Booker remains on top.

But can Corey Booker succeed in cleaning up Newark?

Combating crime was his first priority, and the city has made significant progress however the recent layoffs of police officers is unavoidable in order to deal with unanticipated short-term problems.

“Newark is among the nation’s most improved cities crime-wise,” said George Kelling, head of the Greater Newark Safer Cities initiative and co-founder of the Police Institute at Rutgers. “My guess is that the zones of safety have increased enormously.”

If Newark is to thrive economically or otherwise, it must convince investors that the city is not only open for business but it is, indeed safe.

Meanwhile, Newark’s best pitchman (Mayor Booker) spends much of his time on the road, seeking another large-sized donation while tweeting to a million Newarkers and non-Newarkers (such as myself) 🙂 that he is winner who is constantly on the move for the betterment of his city and its residents!!!

“Did Palin Fuel Congresswoman’s Shooting?”

Congresswoman Gabrielle Gifford (pictured here), was shot in the head on Saturday {January 8} at a rally in Tucson, Arizona.

Witnesses say a young man, in his 20s, ran up and shot the congresswoman “point blank in the head” as she spoke to a couple outside of a Safeway grocery store around 10 am. At least 12 bystanders were shot, 20 wounded and 6 dead, one of them included a 9-year-old girl.

In the meantime, Congresswoman Gifford’s name was on Sarah Palin’s political hit list. Is this Palin’s way of encouraging violence against all of those representatives who voted for President Obama’s healthcare plan?

Palin’s hit list was removed from her website in the aftermath of Saturday’s shooting. Authorities should still however, bring charges up against Palin for igniting violence via her website and her hate fueled speeches.

“Janet Jackson Arrived For Hearing”

Janet Jackson joined her family today at a Los Angeles courthouse for day two of the preliminary hearing of Dr Conrad Murray – the physician charged with the manslaughter of her brother Michael Jackson.

Dr. Murray’s team will argue that, Michael Jackson injected himself with the deadly dose of propofol when Dr. Murray left the room. One of Michael Jackson’s bodyguards testified and somewhat rebutted such a theory.

Stay tuned as this continuing saga unfolds…

“Wesley Snipes Heads To Prison Today”

Despite his efforts and long ordeal with Uncle Sam, actor Wesley Snipes’ heads to prison today.

He reports to a Pennsylvania prison to begin serving a 3-year sentence for failing to file tax returns. Snipes, 48, was acquitted of tax evasion and fraud, charges that would have sent him to prison for many years.

He has until noon today to turn himself in to the McKean Federal Correctional Institution in Lewis Run, PA.

Snipes, who is best known for his roles in the “Blade” action films, appeared on CNN’s “Larry King Live on Tuesday, where he claimed he was unfairly singled out by prosecutors.

One juror, Frank Tuttle, gave “Larry King Live” a written statement that three other jurors had made up their minds that Snipes was guilty before the trial began. [1]

The juror said they “compromised” with those jurors by not convicting Snipes on the more serious tax evasion charges. “We did not think he would go to jail,” Tuttle said, suggesting that Snipes received favorable treatment because of his celebrity status.

Snipes, who was sentenced in 2008, blamed his legal problems on Eddie Ray Kahn. Khan is a tax expert who advised Snipes and 4,000 other “clients” how to avoid paying their taxes.

Khan operated the Guiding Light of God Ministries out of a 2nd floor office in downtown Mount Dora, Florida. [2]

Snipes and his family were members of the ministry.

The main purpose of the ministry, was to help rich people evade paying taxes. Khan had Snipes and others apply to become one-person, religious organizations so they would benefit from a tax-exempt status.

Snipes earned $37 million between 1999 and 2004. A goodly portion of his income went to Khan’s ministry.
