“Red Tails Finishes at #2 In The Box Office

Director George Lucas’ fictionalized account of the heroics of the Tuskegee Airmen in World War II finished at a respectable #2 at the box office this weekend.

According to Box Office Mojo, Red Tails took in more than $19 million over the 3-day weekend. The #1 box office hit this weekend was ‘Underworld Awakening,’ which raked in $25.4 million.

Lucas, who financed Red Tails with $6 million of his own money, could have made a more realistic movie rather than the romanticized Star Wars remake that it became. But he chose to go with the bells and whistles rather than the harsh realities of flying escort for heavy bombers in Hitler’s cold war in 1944-45.

The Tuskegee Airmen were the first black military aviation bombers to see air-to-air combat in the U.S. military. The name ‘Red Tails’ was derived when the pilots of the 332nd Fighter Group painted the tails of their P-51′s red.

Aretha Franklin Calls Off Her Wedding, wonder what happened?

Queen of soul, Aretha Franklin called off the wedding to her fiance Willie Wilkerson, according to published reports.

“Will and I have decided we were moving a little too fast, and there were a number of things that had not been thought through thoroughly. There will be no wedding at this time,” Franklin said through her representatives. “We will not comment on it any further because of the very personal and sensitive nature of it. We appreciate all of the many well wishes from friends.”

Mm, wonder what happened?

Beyonce Gives Birth Supposedly, to a Baby Girl…

I could care less about this story but to appease my readers here we go…

Word abuzz and around the internet is that singer Beyonce gave birth to a baby girl (through a surrogate) yesterday in a New York city hospital, the baby’s name is Ivy Blue Carter.

The conflicting reports are, Beyonce checked into the hospital under the alias name of Ingrid Jackson, while some are saying Ingrid Jackson is the surrogate woman who gave birth for the burlesque singer and her husband, rap mogul Jay Z.

The general public never believed the singer was actually pregnant, as several blogs constantly spoke about the singer’s collapsible belly pillow.

The baby is the first for Beyonce, 30, and the second for rapper Jay Z, 43, whose son, Isa Jael, 9, lives with his mother, former video model Shenelle Scott on the island of Trinidad.

Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union Cover Essence Magazine

Ooh and I know Siohvaughn is pissed!!!!!

Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union will grace the cover of the February 2012 issue of ESSENCE magazine. The NBA star met the sultry actress while he was still married to, Siohvaughn Funches. Gabby caught a lot of flack from NBA groupies and others who objected to her home wrecking talents. But the reality of the situation is that the love was gone in Siohvaughn and Dwyane’s marriage by the time Gabby worked her feminine wiles to get him.

On the subject of marriage, Wade said:

“We’re not rushing it. Both of us have been married before, and we understand that if we choose to marry again, we want it to be right. We both took failing at marriage hard. The next time it’s gotta be forever…” — Dwyane Wade

Dwyane Wade’s 8 year marriage to his high school sweetheart Siohvaughn came to an end in 2010 and Gabrielle Union was married for 5 years to Jacksonville Jaguars running back, Chris Howard. Their marriage ended in April of 2006.

Rumor Has It., That Will and Jada Smith Are Seperated…

It was supposedly a rumor, (Will & Jada’s split) a couple of months ago but I’m starting to believe it’s true myself. The couple haven’t been seen in public together for a while now.

They arrived separately and left separately at Heavy D’s funeral services in Mount Vernon, New York last month. Will pictured above and Jada pictured below.

Will and his daughter Willow (and her friend-seen below) were seen leaving their hotel in New York this week. The media’s been catching Will spending a lot of time with his daughter Willow alone. So what’s up with him and Jada?

I remember some years ago when Jada declared on the “Oprah Winfrey” show, that she and Will would never divorce, if they had to sleep in separate rooms, “he wasn’t going nowhere” this marriage of theirs was supposedly “it” for the both of them.

But according to Star magazine:

Star Magazine‘s December 19, 2011 issue features a new report that divorce is on the way for Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith.
According to the magazine, the couple will battle for his $520 million dollar fortune. A source also tells the magazine, they’ve been separated for months and reveals the secret they’ve been keeping for years.
