Father of 2 Charged with Murdering UNC Professor Girlfriend

The boyfriend of a popular UNC professor has been charged with her murder. 45-year-old Donny Lewis Franklin was taken into custody on Tuesday and charged with murdering 35-year-old Jeannine Shante Skinner (both pictured above).

Skinner was an esteemed University of North Carolina professor. Her battered body was discovered in her apartment over the weekend, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Police say Franklin has a history of domestic violence and domestic arrests and he plead guilty to a misdemeanor account of assaulting a woman in 2003.

Friends say Franklin and Skinner’s relationship was “relatively new”. They dated for less than two months and went to church together on Sunday.

Her body was found inside her Ayrsley Town Center apartment after the police conducted a wellness check on her just before noon Friday.

The cause of death was not made public, but police say Skinner suffered blunt force trauma to her body.

The NFL Boycott, Let’s Discuss Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, has been struggling to find a new team since opting out of his contract last season. It all started when Kaepernick took to his knees during the national anthem, instead of standing during each game. Kaepernick staged a one-man protest last season by kneeling for African-Americans instead of standing for the national anthem before each week’s game.

But critics have said his refusal to stand for the “Star-Spangled Banner” has been disrespectful to this country and its service men. Therefore, the NAACP, The NYPD, The National Action Network and Kaepernick supporters across the board are calling for a boycott of the NFL games until Kaepernick gets an equal opportunity at making a roster for the upcoming season.

Looks like other players are joining in on the protest.

Adoption

Why is Pop-queen Madonna adopting black children?

She was spotted arriving back in NYC with her newly adopted twins Estere and Stelle, after celebrating her 59th birthday with her children Mercy James, David Banda Rocko and Lourdes.

For those who don’t know, Madonna adopted the 4-year-old twins from Malawi, Africa earlier this year. Madonna previously adopted 2 children from Malawi, a baby boy, David, and a baby girl, Mercy. Both children are now 11.

Although Madonna will be monitored for a year, you can’t help but wonder what is her intent and primary goal in adopting these children?

‘Racism, Nazism and White Supremacy’ Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Did President Donald Trump, light every one of those torches in Charlottesville, VA this past weekend?

Yes, the white supremacists have always been with us. A parade of racist bigots is no surprise to anyone familiar with our history here in these United Snakes Of America, especially those who have been the target of hatred and violence for centuries.

But when the mob of white men marched in Charlottesville carrying flaming torches Friday night shouting “Heil Trump” as the curtain-raiser for a day of violent clashes with counter protesters that left three people dead, they showed the world that America is once again playing with fire. Only President Trump is the one with the match.

The Nazi and Confederate flags were equally chilling to the millions of Americans with vivid memories of relentless racial oppression, including lynchings, church bombings and assassinations at the hands of the Ku Klux Klan and other white supremacist terrorists.

Join me “LIVE” on “Conversations Of A Sistah” at 6:30 p.m. EST for a discussion on Racism, Nazism and White SupremacyIs Charlottesville, VA coming to a town near you?

I will be taking your calls in the studio at 1-917-889-7872.
