Why is America So Racially charged? This week on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

ABC has cancelled Roseanne Barr’s popular scripted television show after the feisty star went on a Twitter rampage on Tuesday morning referring to former President Barack Obama’s advisor Valerie Jarrett as an ape..

The cancellation announcement came after Roseanne apologized for her offensive tweets and openly lesbian comic Wanda Sykes said she was quitting the show.

Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj,” Barr tweeted, referring to Jarrett, who is mixed race and originally from Iran.

In other tweets Roseanne mentioned Chelsea Clinton and George Soros as Nazi sympathizers.

The revamped Roseanne Show enjoyed high ratings but was short lived as millions of Trump supporters tuned into the show.

I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste.

Unfortunately her apology was a little too late.

Stand or Be Fined!!!…..The NFL Has New Policy Requiring Players to Stand

During the National Anthem or be fined!!!

Former 49er’s quarterback Colin Kaepernick began protesting the flag — which he called a symbolism of oppression of black people in America back in 2016.

After public backlash, Kaepernick got off the bench and kneeled on the sidelines. A few players joined him there, but the protest didn’t become a movement in the NFL until 2017, when President Donald Trump criticized Kaepernick and others for kneeling during the anthem.

According to the NY Daily News, players will have two options: stay in the locker room during the National Anthem or stand “and show respect for the flag and the Anthem.”
Team owners will be fined an unspecified amount if players defy the new policy and bring attention to themselves by kneeling on the sidelines.

The new rule will take effect at the start of the 2018-19 NFL season.

White woman calls the cops on black graduate student sleeping in Yale dorm

A white graduate student at Yale called the police on a black student (pictured here) who fell asleep in the common area of a dorm, sparking a nationwide conversation about race after videos of the incident went viral.

The white woman confronted Lolade Siyonbola, 34, after she fell asleep on the couch in the school’s Hall of Graduate Studies.

“I have every right to call the police. You cannot sleep in that room,” she said to Siyonbola.

The cops, who asked to see Siyonbola’s ID, proceeded to question her for more than 15 minutes before they confirmed she was a student at Yale.

They said the process was prolonged because her name was misspelled in a school database of student information.

During their interactions, Siyonbola unlocked the door to her dorm room to show them that she was a student and called the officers’ behavior “harassment.”

More than 350,000 people watched Siyonbola’s Facebook videos, with some commenters expressing their support while others commended her for remaining calm.

Lynn Cooley, the dean of Yale’s graduate school of arts and sciences, sent an email to graduate students addressing the situation on Tuesday.

“Incidents like that of last night remind us of the continued work needed to make Yale a truly inclusive place,” she wrote.

“I am committed to redoubling our efforts to build a supportive community in which all graduate students are empowered in their intellectual pursuits and professional goals within a welcoming environment.”

This country is really sitting on a hotbed of racism.

Celebrities & The Public Raise $106K for James Shaw; Call Out Trump for Ignoring His Heroism

Snoop Dogg and other celebrities are calling out President Donald Trump for ignoring Waffle House hero James Shaw, Jr. who disarmed Travis Reinking after he shot and killed 4 people and wounded 4 more with an AR-15.

Reinking, 29, who wore only a green coat during the attack on April 22, was captured alive on Monday while walking in the woods in Antioch, Tennessee.

Shaw, a 29-year-old father of one, charged Reinking and snatched away his AR-15. His actions saved others from being killed in the restaurant.

Rapper Snoop Dogg and other celebs wonder why Trump hasn’t recognized Shaw for his bravery.

“If a Muslim shot up a restaurant full of white people, the ‘president’ would be tweeting up a storm, driving his dumb racist base into a frenzy.” Snoop Dogg’ posted on Instagram.com.

Snoop added: “The NRA would use it as fodder for propaganda to scare dumb racists into buying more guns.”

GoFundMe page created by Shaw, Jr. for the shooting victims has raised over $106,000 of its stated $15,000 goal.

Starbucks CEO: “I’m going to fix it”

In an emotional interview, the CEO of Starbucks, Kevin R. Johnson was confronted with the truth about racism in America. But racism is more than prejudice. It is, rather, the system by which prejudice is encoded into the laws and customs of a society so that, to take an example not quite at random, two black men can be arrested for waiting quietly on a prospective business associate to arrive for a meeting at Starbucks.

In the video above, the Starbucks CEO seem to sincerely express how he is going to fix the issue to understand how the incident happened and to ensure he doesn’t happen again.

Racism is alive and well in our society, so this conversation is far from over.
