The man, his Arrogance and his Ego…Tonight on Conversations Of A Sistah

man_and_his_ego

Men are sensitive beings who require just as much validation and attention as women. They are just as emotional as women but show their emotions differently than woman. So the first step in understanding the male ego is knowing it can be wounded and become frail at any time. Sometimes in order to appease the male and his ego you have to avoid damaging comments that delve into his masculinity or the ability to provide for his family. These damaging comments may include; insults to his profession, his performance in the bedroom, undercut his leadership skills or offend his qualifications.

At the same time you shouldn’t walk on eggshells in order to avoid the sensitivity of the male ego either. The biggest blow to a man’s ego is rejection, some men don’t know how to handle, embrace or deal with being rejected. And God forbid his arrogance is coupled in with this rejection, these are dangerous twins that can destroy the man’s self-esteem.

When The Biological Clock Ticks And you get Tricked! Tonite on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

fighting-couple

We as humans allow time to dictate our biological processes. We have to have children and be married before the age of 25 or 30. We want to be happily married and fully established by the age of 50. All of these mental pressures determine our decisions instead of us allowing God to naturally perfect theses developments.

When life’s major decisions are carried out according to man and society, mistakes are made and then regrets ensue. Temporary insanity affects our decision-making because the world defines it one way, when God’s plan is completely different.

Being desperate and determined to make things happen according to your plan and not God’s, equals you being tricked into making all the wrong decisions in the long run.

Join me Wednesday April 10, 2013 at 8:00 PM on “Conversations Of A Sistah” on “Conversations Live” as I discuss being tricked as the result of these biological pressures.

Modestly Dressed? -or- Looking a Hot Mess?! Tonite on “Conversations Of A Sisah”

Half_naked

What is considered modestly dressed in today’s society? What is going on with some of the outrageous outfits we see men and woman wearing today in what is being called fashion?

I made a trip to the mall for the first time in a long time on last Friday and was shocked by some of the bold outfits I saw women dressed in…I saw way too much skin! Skin tight mini-skirts, low-cut dresses, cut out t-shirts, painted on jeans, plunging necklines, low-rise pants, see-through clothing, skimpy tops, tacky formal wear and the list goes on.

You have men dressing like women with their jeans worn down and hanging off of their buttocks, sleeveless tees, unlaced sneakers and tight jeans. And for the record anything tight on a man is never a good look and this includes white shoes or a white coat.

It seems as though some individuals both men and women are attempting to live out their fantasies by dressing like those examples seen through some of these famous entertainers, while not being creative with modest and decent styles of their own. If sex sales for attention, they’re all for it and I think it’s a disgrace!

Join me tonight at 8:00 PM on “Conversations Of A Sistah” on “Conversations Live” as I discuss such issues. In the meantime email your questions to the show at conversations@optonline.net

As I conclude Women’s History month this week which has been a month-long celebration with an awesome panel of real women on the show who’ve made history while continuing to thrive in their professions, my guest on the show this week is former Essence Advice Columnist Dr. Gwendolyn Goldsby Grant.

Dr. Grant contributed for over twenty-five years, as the writer of “Between Us,” a monthly column for Essence magazine and in 1995 she published a book; The Best Kind of Loving: A Black Woman’s Guide to Finding Intimacy. Not only is she a well renowned media psychologist, counselor and advocate for sex education but a devote Women of God. The woman is simply awesome!!! And like so many of you, I’ve followed Dr. Grant’s wisdom, guidance and knowledge for many years.

Controversy, Drama, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Janet Hubert, Wendy Williams, What she said

“Aunt Viv goes in on Wendy Williams!!”

aunt-viv-and-wendy-williams

Janet Hubert, the original Aunt Vivian from the sitcom “The Fresh Prince Of Bel Airwent off on Wendy Williams via her blog talk radio show “Speak Own It” because Wendy Williams continues to pry into the reasons Hubert was fired from the show (“Fresh Prince”) over 15 years ago.

Wendy Williams who is the big mouth, gossiping radio host turned television talk show host, interrogated poor Tatiana Ali over Janet’s departure. Well when Hubert tuned in to see Tatiana on Wendy’s show and heard her name, she was furious and annoyed and decided to address Wendy Williams in an open letter that she read via her blog talk radio show.

Hubert calls Wendy’s mouth “an overflowing volcano and a virus” then suggest that she wants to be another Oprah Winfrey:  “who died and told you that you were reborn Oprah, you will never be another Oprah Winfrey, Oprah lifted her audience up and exuded it with class”

Hubert not only ripped into Wendy’s big breast and fake hair but she insist Wendy is simply a travesty, who envies and hates every other black woman. Hubert even hints that Wendy Williams might be a man.

If Wendy Williams want to know what happened to Janet Hubert’s departure from “The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air” she should invite her on her show for a discussion about it. But I think it’s safe to say, Hubert can’t stand Wendy Williams so that may never happen.

You can listen to Janet Hubert’s letter to Wendy Williams here!

Oh and for the record, Janet Hubert who was the original aunt Vivian on the “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” was the best actress in that role. When she was replaced by Daphne Maxwell Reid I stopped watching the show.

Thanks to my sister Theresa for the story tip!
