A server working at a Red Lobster restaurant in an affluent suburb of Nashville, Tennessee claims she was subjected to a racist insults after customers allegedly left the words ‘none nigger‘ written in the tip section of the check.

Toni Christina Jenkins, who is 19, was in the middle of her shift at the seafood restaurant in Franklin, Tennessee and serving a couple of customers who racked up a $45 bill during their afternoon meal.

When the time came to pay the check, Miss Jenkins, who is training to be a nurse, says she found the racist insult written on the couple’s receipt.

Racist tip: A server working at this Red Lobster restaurant in Franklin, Tennessee was subject to racists abuse in the tip section of the receipt

This is what I got as a tip last night…so happy to live in the proud southern states..God Bless America, land of the free and home of the low-class racists of Tennessee,’ wrote Miss Jenkins on her Facebook page.

They were extremely rude, but I introduced myself to them and they didn’t respond. When I came to take their order they simply told me they wanted their food and to put everything in a to-go box. I offered them dessert but they told me abruptly that they just wanted the check.’

‘When I went back to the table they had gone and left the receipt and had written the comments.’

The couple was said to be a man and woman in their twenties.

However, some have also cast doubt on the authenticity of the writing on the receipt, implying that Miss Jenkins made the incident up. Nonetheless, Jenkins, who works two and half days each week at Red Lobster, has continued to stand by her story

Miss Jenkins is the one who was racially taunted and/or insulted, yet the Red Lobster in Franklin where she works has now suspended the teenager on full pay until they decide what to do next.

An African American pastor of a Charlotte, N.C. church came under fire recently for requesting “white only” greeters at the front doors of the church.

Pastor Makeda Pennycooke of Freedom House Multicultural Church sent an email blast to the members of her church asking black members not to serve as greeters on Sunday mornings at the 9 a.m. service, the Atlanta journal Constitution reports.

The dread-locked pastor made the unusual request to attract more Caucasian members to the church. In the email, Makeda wrote “first impressions count,” and she wanted only “the best of the best on the front doors.”

From the AJC.com:

Some members of Freedom House Church in north Charlotte expressed outrage after receiving an email from their pastor Makeda Pennycooke asking people of color not to serve as greeters at the 9 a.m. services, according to a report in huffingtonpost.com.

Pennycooke, an African-American, said in the email that “first impressions matter” and that the congregation wanted “the best of the best on the front doors,” according to the report. “So we would like to ask that only white people be on the front doors,” the email reportedly said.

According to a WBTV report, members angered by the email said the pastor of the diverse congregation hoped white greeters would attract more white members.

After the firestorm, the pastor and church leadership apologized for the email.

Swiss store clerk issues apology for refusing to show Oprah a handbag she thought was too ‘expensive’ for her…

Oprah and Gayle King in Zurich

As I mentioned on my show the other night.

A Swiss high-end boutique issued an apology to American media mogul Oprah Winfrey after a clerk there refused to show Winfrey a handbag she thought was too expensive for her. Obviously the clerk didn’t know who Oprah was and refused to take the bag out of the case.

Oprah was in Zürich, Switzerland to attend Tina Turner’s wedding at the time and is now busy promoting her latest film, ‘Lee Daniels’ The Butler’.

Oprah said: “I was in Zurich the other day, in a store whose name I will not mention. I didn’t have my eyelashes on, but I was in full Oprah Winfrey gear. I had my little Donna Karan skirt and my little sandals. But obviously ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ is not shown in Zurich.

“I go into a store and I say to the woman, ‘Excuse me, could I see the bag right above your head?’ and she says to me, ‘No. It’s too expensive.’”

The saleswoman went on to suggest she look at cheaper bags. ‘I left the store but it proves that racism is still an issue,’ Oprah added.

‘There’s two different ways to handle it. I could’ve had the whole blow-up thing… but racism still exists, of course it does.’

The handbag in question was on sale for £24,460 and was locked in a cabinet to prevent shoplifting.

FRUITVALE-STATION, New Movie Release, Racist, Ryan Coogler, Shooting death

FRUITVALE-STATION is a must see movie!

A true story written and directed by a young Ryan Coogler, the film recreates the last day in the life of Oscar Grant. The 22-year-old unarmed black man in Oakland, CA who was shot and killed by a Bart Transit police office on New Years day 2009.

The film won the two top prizes at the Sundance Film Festival and has become a cause to be negative amongst critics. Activists are seizing the opportunity to promote the movie, which calls for justice and implies that nothing like it has occurred yet, since the cop who shot and killed Oscar Grant only served 11 months in prison and Grant’s family has prevailed in a large civil suit.

Grant’s character who is played by 22-year-old subject (Michael B. Jordan), who was a small-time criminal who cheated on his girlfriend and had been fired from a job at a grocery store. All of these flaws are depicted in the film, but nevertheless “Fruitvale Station,” a debut effort from young filmmaker Ryan Coogler, tries to fit a halo on its subject, seemingly to play up the audience’s sympathies and it works.

Despite Grants shortcomings the film show that he was an ordinary, everyday black man struggling to make his life right and did not deserve to be shot in the back by a cop while lying face down on a subway platform.

Although the movie is a true story, it fails to deliver more of the point that the shooting was a cover-up. The many witnesses, spectators and friends of Oscar Grant had cell phone footage of the shooting, yet their cell phones were confiscated illegally by police officers before they got off the train that New Years Eve.

Warning: Fresh off the heels of a George Zimmerman “not guilty” verdict, this film is a tear jerker that will piss you off into the reality of the injustices to all unarmed African American men being killed all over this country.

Support this film because those right wing conservatives don’t want to ignite the truth for you to view!

Black So-called Celebrities Come Out in Support of Paula Deen

Paula Deen Signs Copies Of "Paula's Southern Cooking Bible"

Actress Stacey Dash, NFL player Kris Jenkins and civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton are among the black notables who have come forward in support of embattled tv chef Paula Deen.

Deen, 66, was dropped by the Food Network on Friday after Deen readily admitted she used racial slurs and cracked racist jokes about black people in a videotaped deposition.

Two other Deen sponsors, QVC and Smithfield Foods, are quietly shelving the celebrity chef while they await the outcome of a million-dollar sexual harassment lawsuit filed against Deen’s brother, Bubba Hiers, by a former employee.

“A lot of us have in the past said things we have regretted saying years ago,” Sharpton told gossip website TMZ. “You cannot deal with what is fair or not fair until we see an outcome of the present circumstances she is accused of, not something that happened 20 years ago.”

In a tweet sent out from her Twitter account on Monday, Stacey Dash wrote: “God does everything for a reason. “@Paula_Deen Only God can judge your heart BTW my daughter loves your show (only way she can get me to cook)”

And Kris Jenkins, former all-pro defensive tackle for the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers, also spoke out in support of Deen.

“The lady was a sweetheart to me; [her] making a mistake I’m not going to be the one to make a big deal of it,” said Jenkins in an interview with Metro New York.

Jenkins continued: “I got to see her heart and for me, I don’t look at the ‘N word’ as a bad word like that in this year—in 2013. The reason is because I think the ‘N word’ is more a test of my inner strength as to how strong am I to even be bothered by the word or not.”
