George Zimmerman’s “Friend” Joe Oliver exposed as a fraud

We now know that the man who quit his job in order to defend George Zimmerman to the national news media barely knows him.

Joe Oliver, a former CNN news anchor, has been making the rounds on cable news and TV talk programs defending Zimmerman, the man who gunned down unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida on Feb. 26.

On Tuesday night, ‘Last Word,’ with host Lawrence O’Donell and his guests The New York Times‘ Charles Blow and The Washington Post‘s Jonathan Capehart, ripped the lid off of Oliver’s claims that he was a “close friend” of Zimmerman’s.

Oliver, pictured above with his wife and kids, couldn’t answer basic questions about Zimmerman that a true friend would know by association.

Lawrence and Blow challenged Oliver’s assertions that Oliver knew Zimmerman well enough to be confident that he would not shoot Trayvon in cold blood.

The grilling of Oliver was so Epic that he was trending on Twitter.com before the hourlong segment was even over.

Cops in Sean Bell Shooting Forced Out of The NYPD

Three officers involved in the controversial Sean Bell shooting case will be forced out of the NYPD by Monday, including one who will be fired.

An NYPD departmental judge ruled to fire Detective Gescard Isnora (who will not get his pension), Detective Michael Oliver and Detective Marc Cooper. Lt. Gary Napoli has also been forced to leave the NYPD. Napoli was a supervisor on the scene that night but did not fire his weapon.

“It’s a slap on the wrist”, said Bell’s father, William Bell. “They’re going to get another job, their life is going to go on while mine is just stuck.”

Isnora was the detective who fired first, in a hail of 50-shots that killed 23-year-old Sean Bell, who was unarmed in the early morning hours on his wedding day. The November 2006 shooting, which occurred outside of a Queens strip club, also injured were Bell’s friends; Joseph Guzman and Trent Benefield.

“I Am Trayvon Martin” Outrage or Craze??

In support of Trayvon Martin, the 17 year old who was gunned down on February 26, 2012 in the gated community where his father’s lived, the internet is all a craze with people wearing hoodies in light of the details made known by his killers pursuit.

LeBron James and the Miami Heat team showed their full support for Trayvon Martin by wearing grey hoodies in a group photo LeBron uploaded to Twitter.com yesterday with the hashtags: “#WeAreTrayvonMartin #Hoodies #Stereotyped #WeWantJustice”.

Meanwhile, Fox News host Geraldo Rivera fanned the flames of controversy when he advised black and Hispanic parents not to let their sons leave home wearing hoodies.

Rivera denied that he was “blaming the victim” and called it “common sense” for minorities to avoid wearing hoodies. He said that he was “reminding minority parents of the risk that comes with being a kid of color in America,” according to the Huffington Post.

Trayvon was unarmed and carrying a bag of Skittles and a can of ice tea when he was ambushed and gunned down by a racist neighborhood watch captain as he walked home from a corner store. Because Trayvon was black and wearing a hoodie, the neighborhood watch captain thought he was a suspicious criminal, “up to no good”.

But… one of my loyal readers think it’s a craze, and when the flames are fanned, the outrage will subside. Why? Because we don’t stay informed, check out what she said:

Two sisters murdered in Boynton Beach, Florida

Sisters, Janice Rahming, 54, and Daphne Clemons, 42, were gunned down in their Boynton Beach home on Saturday night. The bold part about this story is, Detectives say two people opened the front door of the home on Northeast Second Court around 10:45 p.m. carrying high-powered semi-automatic rifles and began shooting at the women.

Police say, there is no reason to believe this was a random shooting or a home  invasion. It appears the house was targeted by the shooters and is likely connected to other recent acts of violence in Boynton Beach. The police implying, the shootings may have been a retaliation of some sort.

Police Chief Matt Immler said the shooting could be drug or gang-related, possibly a retribution, adding that; detectives aren’t ruling anything out. It appears nothing was  stolen from the home.

The sisters were mothers, wives and a grandmother; the husband of one of the sisters said; they did everything together. And while the younger sister was only visiting here sisters as she often did, she may have been targeted as well.

This story is so sad and shocking, I have relatives all over Florida, in Boynton Beach especially. Thanks to my cousin Amanda (who lives in Atlanta, GA) for the story tip. Amanda was close with the younger sister and is extremely devastated by this tragedy.

Rev. Al Sharpton will hold rally for Trayvon Martin in Florida on Thursday

The Rev. Al Sharpton will hold a non-violent rally in Sanford, Florida to demand justice for 17-year-old Miami resident Trayvon Martin, who was stalked and gunned down by an overzealous neighborhood watch volunteer on Feb. 26.

Sharpton announced through his social networking websites Twitter.com and Facebook that he plans to be in Sanford on Thursday to hold a rally to call for the arrest of Zimmerman.

The rally is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the First Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Sanford, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Many believe Trayvon was the innocent victim of a police wannabe who shot Martin in cold blood and then claimed self-defense.

On Friday, Sanford police chief Bill Lee released eight chilling 911 calls describing a scuffle, a man wailing and pleading for help, and a gunshot. The first call was made by Zimmerman, who said he spotted a “suspicious person” in his gated neighborhood. Zimmerman was told not to pursue Trayvon, but he ignored that order.

Another 911 call was made by a witness who stated two men were fighting on the ground. The caller stated “the guy on top” was wearing white. Zimmerman was wearing a white t-shirt that night. Trayvon wore a grey hoodie.

People with guns usually don’t plead for help.
