Hudson Family Murder Trial Is Under Way

It’s been four years since the brutal murders of Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew allegedly gunned down by Jennifer’s then brother-in-law William Balfour.

Balfour who was married to Jennifer’s sister Julia at the time, supposedly went into a jealous rage after he saw a gift of balloons from her new boyfriend at their house on her birthday. Julia witnessed Balfour lingering outside of their home the day of brutal murders and prosecutor’s believe, he went back inside the three-story house around 9 a.m. and used a .45-caliber handgun to kill Hudson’s mother, 57-year-old Darnell Donerson in the living room, and then shot her 29-year-old brother, Jason Hudson, twice in the head as he lay in bed.

He allegedly drove off in Jason Hudson’s SUV with Julia Hudson’s son, Julian King, inside. Authorities say he shot the boy nicknamed Juice Box in the head as he lay behind a front seat. His body was found in the abandoned vehicle miles away after a three-day search.

This is the prosecutor’s theory of Balfour’s murder motive but I believe it was about more than a jealous rage over some birthday balloons. I think drugs and money are at the root of why Jennifer Hudson’s family was murdered in such a vile and brutal fashion.

Jennifer Hudson is on a list of witnesses set to testify, so let’s stay tuned as the chilling details from this trial emerge.

Judge Sets $150,000 Bond for Zimmerman

The self-proclaimed neighborhood watch killer had a hearing in Seminole County Florida this morning, where a judge set his bond at $150,000.

Clad in a dark suite and a crisp white shirt and tie, Zimmerman appeared in court looking like a choir boy; as he apologized to Tracy and Sabrina Martin for killing their son Trayvon.

Zimmerman’s bond comes with the following stipulations: he must seek permission to travel out-of-state for his safety, when in my opinion, he’s safe nowhere at this point. Zimmerman has to have GPS monitoring system, no possession of firearms, no use of controlled substance and no contact with the victim’s family.

He must also meet with the state to be fitted for a GPS ankle bracelet, which means he most likely won’t be released until Monday. However, Zimmerman can be released by paying at least 15,000 which is 10% of his bond.

Zimmerman reacts after learning he will not be released on bond

Trayvon Martin’s killer will remain behind bars for another month with no bond.

George Zimmerman, 28, appeared in a Seminole County courtroom today for his bond hearing wearing a gray prison issued jumpsuit. He remained calm as the judge read instructions to his attorney Mark O’Mara. After the hearing, O’Mara said bond will be set “in the next few weeks.”

Referring to his client as “indigent,” O’Mara told the media he was not charging Zimmerman a dime for his services. Earlier this week Zimmerman set up a PayPal account on his personal website to receive donations from the public.

Florida State Attorney and prosecutor, Angela Corey, also attended the hearing for Zimmerman’s bond hearing at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Sanford, Florida. Zimmerman was charged yesterday with second degree murder in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin who died of a single gunshot wound on February 26, 2012.

Zimmerman has always claimed he acted in self-defense the night he shot Trayvon, who was unarmed. But Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, has a history of prowling his gated community with a gun, and calling 911 46 times to report “suspicious” black men — despite the fact that the men broke no laws.

George Zimmerman Will be Charged For Killing Trayvon Martin

At 6 p.m. today, a prosecutor will announce official charges against George Zimmerman for the February 26 killing of Trayvon Martin. Authorities also supposedly know where George Zimmerman is.

Well I say: It’s about damn time!!!! Especially since the evidence was pretty much cut and dry from the onset of this terrible tragedy, while giving Zimmerman plenty enough time to flee the country.

Zimmerman has asserted since this case has sparked protest and outrage; that he shot 17-year-old Trayvon martin, in self-defense after the two fought. However., a 911 call (made public) clearly indicated Zimmerman had targeted the teen and pursued him all along.

The self-proclaimed neighborhood watchman used his racial hatred to hide behind Florida’s so-called stand your ground law, which gives people wide latitude to claim self-defense in a killing and other altercations.

Let’s tune in at 6:00 p.m. to see what the charges will be. I’ll be watching from PoliticsNation, because I know Al Sharpton will have the coverage LIVE.

Update & Breaking News: George Zimmerman’s Lawyers Quit!!!

Lawyers representing the man who killed Trayvon Martin said: they haven’t heard from their client in days and word on the street is he hasn’t paid them for legal fees thus far.

Zimmerman’s lawyers called a hasty press conference today to announce their decision to quit as Zimmerman’s legal counsel. The lawyers say they can’t find Zimmerman, who gunned down 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida, Feb. 26.

The attorney’s state, Zimmerman is not in the state of Florida period.

Attorney Craig Sonner said he lost contact with Zimmerman on Sunday. He told the media that Zimmerman refused to answer phone calls and emails since Sunday. Zimmerman reportedly called Fox News’ Sean Hannity, and the special prosecutor to give his side of the story — a very unusual move.

Hannity is refusing to disclose what Zimmerman told him.

According to CNN legal analyst Jeff Toobin, the lawyers are “setting [Zimmerman] up for an arrest.”

We will continue to Watch, Wait and see how this will play out.
