“Parents File $120 Million Lawsuit”

The parents of Danroy “DJ” Henry have file a $120 million dollar lawsuit against the Pleasantville police department.

You remember this story, the Pace University football player, who was killed by Pleasantville police for no apparent reason.

Well according to police accounts of what happened that night are varying and it has set off a great deal of controversy in the town of Pleasantville, New York, where Henry was shot outside a nightclub.

The incident began on the night of October 17, when police were called to investigate a disturbance outside a bar in the suburb of Thornwood, which is located right near the Pace University campus.

Officer Aaron Hess and some of the witnesses on the scene say that, Hess shot at Henry’s windshield because he was struck by the car as Henry drove away from the scene. But other witnesses are saying that Hess’ use of force was unjustified and the family is seeking a murder indictment against him.

Hess’ lawyer claims that his client was thrown on the hood of the car by the impact and had no other choice but to shoot. It has also been reported that the 20-year old Henry had a blood alcohol level above the legal limit for driving.

There are others on the scene who argue that Hess did not have to shoot Henry. The attorney’s involved are seeking an independent investigation into the matter.

Witnesses say that, Henry was following police instructions when he pulled away from the scene and that Hess did not tell him to stop the car before he shot him.

  2. THEY ALWAYS HAVE SOME SMALL SUSPICSION AND SOMEONE DIES!!! POLICE SHOULD HAVE FAR HARSHER PENALTIES FOR THE USE OF FORCE AND SHOULD BE HELD AS ACCOUNTABLE AS ANY NORMAL CITIZEN WHEN THEY KILL SOMEONE!!!!

    2. @Angelhair, So we should just take the cops word for it and just ignore all the statements from witnesses who contradict the officer’s statements?
Personally, I’d rather know the truth

    3. @Angelhair: Of course killing this young man was not OK. It is a symptom of excessive authority that leads to brutality and the shooters should be held accountable.

Have you ever been pulled over by police for so called running a stop sign, then had your car searched, only to be let go with no ticket or warning simply because there was nothing illegal found in your car?

Have you ever seen the police opening your car door obviously trying to plant something in your car and had them just pull off when asked what they were doing?

Have you ever seen a cop put a gun to the head of someone who’s bachelor party got a little to loud and told them “So you’re a mail man huh? Well you’ve already delivered your last letter if you dont shut up”?

Have you ever been accused of stealing your own car? What about the embarrassment of having two unmarked cars box you in while you’re pumping gas, point their guns at you then cuff you while refusing to hear any explanation.

There are several other incidents that have happened to me that would make you say “he probably deserved it” because no other reason would make sense to you. To me it’s what commonly happens to people with my skin tone.

In this guys case, all witness accounts differ dramatically from the police’s.

I’m guessing thats not important to you because the police would never intentionally harm you, so you dont see why they’d harm anyone else.

  6. They are PARENTS. They want to know just how their son died. What’s wrong with that? I’d want to know the truth, whatever it may be, if it were my child and I’m sure you would too.

  7. 😦 I personally do not believe the police because they made a big mistake and are trying to cover up for it. The cops who are backing the officer who shot Danroy should be prosecuted as well when the truth comes out!

In a fire lane waiting for one other rider. When the cop knocked on the closed window outside the club with very noisy music, the boy thought the cop wanted him to move from the parking space. When he made an attempt to do what he thought the officer wanted him to do, they jump out of the car and stand in front of the car and shoot.
Why, was his gun drawn anyway?

  11. What happened to the two police officers who were reportedly ‘hit’ by Henry’s car?

    Did they go the hospital?

Were there any medical reports on treating injuries by EMTs?

Were there any visible scratches left by a 2500 lb ‘weapon’ in motion?

If I were the parents, I would definitely not settle on the police chief’s investigation regarding my child’s death and that’s for damn sure!!

If the calls are not relevant then why the secrecy?

This is bullshit and they know it.

Has the owner of the Bar been arrested for serving alcohol to minors and the bar padlocked. I extend my condolences to Henry family and I stand with them in their quest for justice for the murder of their son Danroy .This horror can visit us no matter what our economic status.

    1. Just as I figured why dont none of the CEO Naysayers comment on issues that result in the murdering of yet another YOUNG BLACK BROTHER?

Are these issues simply just not important? would we rather celebrate the profit gaining of a celebrity whom we will in no way directly profit off of then to concern ourselves with the plights and struggles in the real BLACK AMERICA?

But I bet if Tracy had posted WHERE she ate this weekend and with whom, this comment section would be full.

  16. There was a special on B.E.T. concerning this story. According to witnesses an Officer tapped on D.J’s car window and told him to move his car from the fire zone which was in front of the club location. When he proceeded thats when a second officer jumped in front of his car and DJ hit him. So it wasn’t like he just ran the police officer over. If anyone jumps in front of your car unexpectedly while you are driving there is a 95% chance that you are going to hit them too. Also the police reports that DJ had a high blood alcohol level however DJ’s family were never allowed (by the police dept.) to conduct independent testing concerning if that was true or not.
You truly have to get ALL the FACTS before anyone can make a judgment about this case.

THE LAWYER FOR THE FAMILY OF D.J. IS SAYING THAT THE MURDER WAS INTENTIONAL. THE LAWYER IS SAYING THAT WHILE D.J. WAS CRAWLING ON THE GROUND TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM THE KILLER COP THE ROGUE COP SHOT HIT AGAIN. THE LAWYER SAID THE MURDER WAS INTENTIONAL. THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE ARE MONITORING THE SITUATION.
