“The Bishop’s Alias Was Dick Tracy”

That’s the name Bishop Eddie Long used when he was traveling and checking into lavish hotels with his young male church members. The men flew on Long’s personal jet and shared a bed with him at hotels.

However, the bulk of the relations occurred on the megachurch’s property, including inside Long’s “guest house” on Snapfinger Road in south DeKalb, GA.

The plaintiffs, Anthony Flagg, 21, and Maurice Robinson, 20, began having inappropriate relations with Eddie Long at the age of 16, which is the legal age of consent in Georgia, said their attorney B.J. Bernstein.

The suits allege that Long chose the plaintiffs to be his “Spiritual Sons,” a program that allegedly includes other young men from the church.

“Spiritual Sons are taken on public and private jets to U.S. and international destinations, housed in luxury hotels and given access to numerous celebrities including entertainment stars and politicians,” the suit alleges.

Flagg moved into a home owned by another New Birth pastor when he was a high school junior, according to the suit, where Long would sometimes share a bed with him. Flagg was eventually put on the church’s payroll, his suit alleges, with Long personally delivering his pay checks.

Flagg’s suit says that Long presided over a spiritual “covenant” ceremony between the two of them.

“It was essentially a marriage ceremony, with candles, exchange of jewelry, and biblical quotes,” Bernstein said Tuesday. “The bishop [told] him I will always have your back and you will always have mine.”

This is really sick!!

The suits allege that various staff members working for Long, his church and the Longfellows Academy — which the suit describes as an offshoot ministry of New Birth — “knew of Defendant Long’s sexually inappropriate conduct and did nothing to warn or protect [the plaintiffs].”

Bishop long is the preacher who buried Coretta Scoot King, his church New Birth Baptist is the 3rd largest “mega”church with 30,000 members, he and his wife Vanessa have 4 sons and he caught flack for having a 3.7 million dollar salary…..now this, in my heart I pray its not true,but yall remember Deshaun Snow giving him the $25,000 check on Atlanta Housewifes,how ..he carried himself….

  28. i’ve heard rumors for years about stuff that cat has done. the only folks that have anything good to say about him are the brainwashed members of his cult. everybody else that knows better tells REAL stories about what they’ve seen and heard.

      There was a scandal in Houston with Dr. Joe Samuel Ratliff, pastor of Brentwood Church. One of his ministers, a man, called Rev out with a sexual harassment lawsuit and was called all kinds of liars…

      UNTIL

      he broke out the audio tapes…

      …Which got played on every Houston TV station

      Well, Ratcliffe went to rehab for 2 months, & still has his wife and his church.

      And he is still collecting those tithes, so I guess it is still all good for him.

      Let’s see what will happen with this.

  30. During my travels to Atlanta, I visit his church once, and was taken by all the museum like statues and amphitheaters with the attached 24hr gym.
    Also, I did notice the church had very few elder/old people in the congregation and it consist of mostly single thirsty women & young choir boys running around. What got me was the cult like feeling after the extravagant light show following the ghostly praise-dancers running everywhere. I left feeling violated.
    And his church requires you to join by filling out an application in a office next to the ATM machine across from the bookstore in the lobby. No Joke! Bishop Long members seem brainwashed and very cult like.

    He could stand in the pulpit and get sucked and packed among the members, and they will still deny him any wrong-doing.
    Also, I do recall wondering away looking for the restroom and noticed some of his executive staff photos on a wall, lets say he trust YT’s to manage his shit.
    Also, for years the AJC news media has been trying to expose him every chance they got, right along with the angry neighbor’s housed at the entrance to his church palace.

    1. T.I. was never a member of Bishop Long’s New Birth Missionary Baptist church. Pastor Long used his power and influence within the justice community to pull strings and get special permission for T.I. to attend his Easter Sunday service at the Georgia Dome. That was the only New Birth service that T.I. ever attended.

The lawyer said one family moved to GA just to be in the church! Imagine that kind of personal relationship with your Pastor. Then one day he’s telling you to do things you may not necessarily want to do, but because he’s your pastor, you have this great relationship…he calls you his “spiritual son”…he uses Bible verses to justify these things…even made them have a covenant ceremony! Seriously…y’all don’t see something wrong with that????? Doctors, religious leaders, psychiatrists etc… are held to a higher standard. They are usually counseling others who are hurt, sick and or vulnerable. IF the allegations are true….I hope he is punished…cause he would be no better than those pedophiles on Dateline.

  54. This is so sad if it is true but where there is smoke there is fire so I think there is more truth to this than not. Also I totally think that he gained the young mens trust when they where young thus prompting them to agree to the sexual acts. I think it would just be harder to prove that they where raped or whatnot being that the consenting age is 16 there. So yeah he was definately wrong. Also, if they where given these gifts in exchange for sex I guess the attorney’s on Bishops side caould use this against them…Either way this is all kinds of jacked up. The main reason I think this is more then likely true is who would lie about this? Especially with the way African Americans feel about homosexuality in general…Also with there being a church in the mix…all kinds of messed up!

  63. I believe, they may have fallen on hard times and want some attention. There is a reason the age of consent is 16 in GA and a reason why we have statues of limitations. I know some of us was out there slangin that thang at 16, and nobody could tell us anything. I hope they weren’t taken advantage of.   74. Eddie Long is heavily tied in Dekalb County affairs. The last CEO of Dekalb (who recently tried to run for office to go to Washington) allowed Eddie to buy countless properties in Dekalb for free. Eddie also has his hands tied into Dekalb County schools—this is getting interesting!

  75. What’s interesting is that in the complaint from Robinson, he says that people knew that this was happening and that he was sleeping in the same hotel room as a 15 year old. All that will happen is that he will say “The church is under Satanic attack” and people will dismiss it because this is their beloved pastor. If they defended him during the financial complaints a few years ago, I’m sure they will defend him during this. Never mind that it looks strange for a 57 year old man to be staying with a 15 year old boy who is not his biological son.

  78. There are 3 sides to every story…yours mine and the truth. If this man engaged in this activity why weren’t criminal charges brought against him?

  81. The plaintiff’s attorney is on CNN now. She said the accusers are scared, and that she warned them they will be “crucified” because of Bishop Long’s supporters. It doesn’t sound like there’s a smoking gun, but that there are so many phone calls, etc, it’s damning. She is now gathering documentation on the hotels, Amex cards, travel and other things pertaining to the travel.

    She also said both families moved to GA just to join this church.

  82. Trust in GOD that they are telling the TRUTH …then they should not be worried….it may have been better to have created a setup where his ass was “caught in the act” so there would be no questions instead of allegations….It could become “he said…..he said”….no pun intended

      1. that’s why he did it. most ministers are powerful and feel they can do what they want to you and NO ONE will believe you. Hypocrites in the church are just as deep, just as long and just as corrupt.

      1. Ummm those allegations have LOADS of detail and dates too….Not to mention a host of “others” who apparently knew of these goins on……. Witnesses will be called to testify….Oooooo this ain’t cute Eddie. How messy and irresponsible…… The church is NOT sayin Amen at this time 😦
