“Black Women Need to Learn to “Submit” to their Men”

That’s what Mo’Nique said on her show, as she went into what women need to do in order to keep a man happy in a relationship. Mo’Nique and her guests seem to think that black women work too hard to take control in their relationships.

Her disposition seems to imply that black women have been taught to be too independent and this leads to the breakdown of their relationships. This is not only the case with black women but all women of different races as well.

She actually says that black women “ sit down” (in the bathroom) for a reason and that men “stand up” for a reason.  Obviously, this rhetoric may not sit well with many black women, but some of you may wonder if Mo’Nique has a point.

On the Mo’Nique’s show which airs on BET, a couple provides an interesting perspective on black women being subservient to their men. That’s all well and good, if a women is subservient to the right man, who’ll respect her modesty in order to submit to such a will.

“Mashonda’s Advice Via Her Twitter Page”

Should be common sense, don’t you think?

When she made a cameo appearance on “Love and Hip Hop” the other week, speaking as if her only claim to fame is the fact; Alicia Keys stole her husband, I was turned off by her at that point. The world knows what happened Mashonda, it’s time to move on.

“Elgin Charles, Jackee’s Effeminate Man And Ex-husband”

If you’ve ever tuned into VH1’s “Beverly Hills Fabulous” you’ll be greeted by the flamboyance of Elgin Charles. I love this show because this man is fierce. An older handsome African-American man, who sports purses, wears a shoulder length perfectly coiffed wrap at all times, switches his hips, turns his neck and whips his hair back and forth better than Willow Smith. And the man was married to actress Jackee Harry.

The reality show chronicles the daily and often trite happenings at the ambitious businessman’s upscale salon. Like most reality television programs, the show centers on the cast members’ and their personal flair.

Jackee Harry makes an appearance in one episode, where she meets Elgin for lunch and he assumed she lured him there for sex. Watching the former couple interact was more like catching a glimpse of two girlfriends having lunch, not lovers.

So what’s up with Jackee Harry hooking up with an effeminate black man? What makes an attractive woman decide to nest with a man who wants to paint hers and his own fingernails each day? Has the shortage of marriage-minded, eligible black men led women to make the ultimate compromise of sharing her man with another man?

According to statistics less than 50 percent of Black women are married. Additionally, almost 50 percent of marriages end in divorce and the primary culprits are money matters and infidelity. It’s obvious why Elgin is Jackee’s ex-husband, he comes across as having a little “sugar in his tank”.

Jackee and Elgin cohabit in the same home, where they co-parent their 17-year-old son. Ultimately, what makes a relationship work depends on the couple…and we know with these two it’s their business.

Still, when we look at women in the limelight who had effeminate mates (Terry McMillan, Star Jones and Valerie Ashford) we can’t help but question what went into their decision? Whether it was loneliness or love, a man shortage or just a good man, some men present themselves as straight when their on the down low all along.

“No Reality Television Drama For Gabrielle Union”

Gabrielle Union recently opened up to an online magazine concerning “3 things” with regards to her relationship with NBA star Dwayne Wade. Union doesn’t often speak of she and Wade’s relationship, but decided to clear up a few things for the record.

1. On A Possible Reality Show: “I pay my own bills first off, so I’ve never put myself in a position to have to be a jackass or to have to sell myself down the river for a reality show. I was just raised a little differently and my situation is a lot different being that I have my own career, my own celebrity status on my own independence, and before him. But, I don’t knock anybody’s hustle, it’s just not my path.”

2. On marriage: “We’re just happy, so whatever comes down the road is down the road. And it’ll be in order”.

3. And kids: “There would be a wedding before there would be a bambino, so all these reports of mystery babies that they like to keep giving me – there’ll be no baby until you’ve heard about a wedding.”

Go head Gabby, God bless the child that’s got his own.

It sounds like Gabrielle is talking about Shaunie O’Neal and her Basketball wives crew., what do you all think?

“Let’s Recap: The Catfight Last Night On Basketball Wives”

Everyone is talking about the knock down, drag out, catfight between Basketball Wives cast members, the mentally and messy unstable Tami Roman, and industry whore and the very ugly, Evelyn Lozada.

The street came out of Tami after Evelyn revealed, in such a callous manner, that she had a prior sexual relationship with Tami’s ex-husband, former NBA player Kenny Anderson.

And how could Evelyn not know that Kenny Anderson was married? “Do you think I researched who dude was with? It was like you didn’t even exist,” said Evelyn, almost like she forgot how crazy Tami was!!!

Evelyn totally missed Tami’s point before the fight escalated full-blown. How do you bond as friends and smile in the face of a woman, knowing you slept with her husband in the past? Evelyn is a whore who clearly has no conscious.

Tami might be messy and tad-bit crazy, but she should have whooped Evelyn’s ass on this one.
