“She Gave Birth To This 13 Pound Baby Boy”

Shevonne Singleton (pictured with her baby above), gave birth on Thursday and her baby weighed in at a whopping 13 pounds and 22 inches. Little Victor Martinez, Jr. was the biggest baby born at Lenox hospital in 30 years.

Although her baby was born by a Caesarean section, the average weight of a U.S. newborn is 7.5 pounds.

The Harlem stay-at-home mom and her hubby, Victor Martinez Sr., 28, had no clue that their adorable new addition weighed so much while in the womb.

“We weren’t expecting him to be this big,” she said, noting the huggable heavyweight already fits into clothes made for a 6-to 9-month-old.

Victor, nicknamed “Fat Man” by his parents, has been the hit of the maternity ward – and neither his mom nor his doctors can explain why he came out so big.

“I guess I ate well,” Singleton said.

“Charlie Sheen Drunk & Hospitalized”

Charlie Sheen is the highest paid television star in Hollywood. Despite raking in nearly $2 million PER episode of his smash hit sitcom Two and a Half Men, Sheen can’t seem to stay out of trouble.

Sheen was admitted to New York-Presbyterian Hospital after police found him drunk and naked in his trashed NY hotel room early this morning.

Just yesterday, Sheen was the picture of happiness as he spent quality time with his ex-wife Denise Richards and their daughters Sam and Lola (pictured above).

According to online reports, Sheen was “was drinking and had snorted cocaine” in the presence of a paid escort (prostitute) in his room at The Plaza Hotel in NYC. Police arrived to find Sheen in a drunken stupor and the hotel room completely trashed.

Sheen, 45, had been “out partying” and when he returned to his room with the alleged prostitute, he noticed his wallet and cellphone were missing and lost it, according to the police report.

The woman later told police Sheen was throwing furniture and yelling.

Tables and chairs had been thrown around Sheen’s room and a chandelier was also damaged, totaling about $7,000 in damages, the Post reports.

Janet Jackson attended the “For Colored Girls” special screening, held at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City last night.

Here, Janet poses with her nephew Austin, who is the only son of Janet’s oldest sister Rebe Jackson. Austin will be releasing a new album soon and rumor has it that, he’s picked up certain qualities from his late uncle Michael Jackson.

R&B singer Ciara, also attended the NY screening. What does this child do again?

The lovely Kerry Washington was in attendance, as she also has a role in the movie.

And singer Macy Grey was in attendance! And she does not look feminine wearing this gown!

Tyler Perry looks like he’s wearing lipstick here. He must have forgotten to take it off as he switched from his role as Madea.

“For Colored Girls” opens in theatres on November 5.

“Tyler Perry Opens Up About Sexual Abuse”

Tyler Perry spoke candid to Oprah Winfrey yesterday, about the sexual abuse he endured at an early age.

The very popular and prominent stage playwright, actor, director and producer said, he suffered sexual abuse at the hands of various adults.

Though they’re close friends, Oprah says she never realized how brutal Tyler’s childhood really was. Oprah asked Tyler to describe his childhood years and he said: “It was a living hell!”

To endure the violent beatings, shouting and name-calling, Tyler says he used his imagination to escape.

“I could go to this park [in my mind] that my mother and my aunt had taken me to. … I’m there in this park running and playing, and it was such a good day,” he says. “So, every time somebody was doing something to me that was horrible, that was awful, I could go to this park in my mind until it was over.”

“Councilman Disrespected At Council Meeting”

An argument which took place at a council meeting in Warner Robins, Georgia has caught the attention of the NAACP, after a white councilman told his black counterpart that he should be working in a cotton field.

Larry Holmes, president of the NAACP in Houston County said, “They need to learn to respect each other, and they need to stop all the name calling,” “Ever since this new council was elected, there has been different problems. For one thing, they just can’t seem to function there in a more pleasant and peaceful manner.”

The heated argument captured on tape was between council members John Williams, who is white, and Daron Lee, who is black.

During the exchange, Lee said he was tired of being interrupted and was upset about how he was treated at an earlier meeting.

“I was disrespected last Monday. I’m getting about tired of you all, talking to me any kind of way. I’m not working in a cotton field,” Lee said.

Williams paused for a second and then replied, “You should be.”

The racial talk continued during the public comment period of the meeting. One resident suggested that the City Council should get diversity training. I think that’s a good suggested idea, especially since so many people seem to be heated because there is a black man sitting in the White house.

President of the Houston County NAACP said, “if they can’t work together then maybe somebody needs to resign.”
