“Amy Winehouse Father Believes She Died Of A Seizure”

With any drug or alcohol addiction, when seeking to go sober it is imperative to seek professional help and Amy Winehouse’s father believes the singer died after suffering a seizure related to alcohol detoxification.

Winehouse, who had fought drug and alcohol problems for years, was found dead in bed at her London home on July 23. Her family says toxicology reports indicated there was alcohol in her bloodstream but it was unnclear whether it had contributed to her death.

Mitch Winehouse (Amy’s father) said Friday during a taping of Anderson Cooper’s new syndicated talk show “that traces of the prescription drug Librium, which is used to fight anxiety and withdrawal symptoms of alcoholism, were found in her body.”

“Everything Amy did, she did to excess,” he said on the show, which is to air as Cooper’s debut Monday. “She drank to excess and did detox to excess.” He said he regretted that his daughter – whose most famous song, “Rehab,” has her answering “no, no, no” when told to go to rehab – was trying to kick her alcoholism without a doctor’s help. He said “the periods of abstinence were becoming longer, and the periods of drinking were becoming shorter. It was heading in the right direction.”

“Nick Ashford Passed Away Yesterday”

The Motown legend had been undergoing radiation treatments for throat cancer, he was 69.

Ashford and Simpson wrote Motown’s two favorite “Ain’t” songs, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and “Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing,” along with “You’re All I Need To Get By.”

The couple also had a long singing career, scoring their biggest chart hit in 1984 with “Solid (As a Rock)” and later settling into a long run at clubs and cabarets. The couple also owned several restaurants and clubs, including the 20/20 on W. 20th St. and the Sugar Bar on W. 72nd St.

Ashford, a tall pretty dark man whose signature hair was long and well done, was known as a gentle presence in the music business and rumored to be gay. Besides songwriting, they also produced most of Diana Ross’s first three solo albums and worked with artists that included Teddy Pendergrass, Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson and Chaka Khan.

Ashford also had a few acting roles, and I remember him best as Rev. Oates in “New Jack City.”

Ashford is survived by his wife Valerie and their two daughters.

“What Happened To Rapper Lil Kim?”

The horribly disfigured woman above is none other than rap legend Lil Kim. Kim, who is a mere shadow of her former self, performed for the masses at the Winterbeatz Music Festival yesterday in Melbourne, Australia.

I don’t normally talk about celebrities like this, but had to say something about lil Kim. Rappers fabulous, 50 Cent, and singer Mario were also on the bill at the Winterbeatz Music Festival .

“It’s Official: Charlie Sheen’s Character Dies Off The Show”

Charlie Sheen’s character (Charlie Harper) will officially die off the scene in the season premier of “Two and a Half Men”.

According to TMZ, the producers wrote a brilliant script that kills the character off and made sure there is absolutely no way, the actor could and/or would return to the show in the future.

Sheen’s character has sort of been replaced by new comer, Ashton Kutcher.

Back in February when Sheen went on a brutal rant of public insults against the producer of the show, Chuck Lorre, CBS cancelled the show for the season and later confirmed they would not renew Sheen’s billion dollar contract. Sheen then set out on his meaningless “still winning” campaign against CBS producers.

Last season’s finale ended with Charlie flying to Paris to be with his crazy neighbor Rose, the new season will kick-off on September 19 with Charlie’s funeral and Rose speaking and telling everyone how he died.

Do you think Charlie Sheen’s still winning?
