Why Misery is a choice… Tonight’s Conversation on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Man remains a slave of misery because he has chosen it. It is easier to be miserable because the whole crowd is miserable. It feels more comfortable to be with the crowd than to be alone. Misery seeks comfort because that is what makes it happy.

This is why I don’t understand everyone’s surprise with the words and statement that came out of rapper/designer Kanye West’s mouth about slavery, when the rapper is famously known for his constant frown. The man NEVER SMILES.

The only way Kanye hooked onto the sluttish famed Kardashian family is because of the death of his mother. Kanye West sought the fulfillment of love to cover two things; grief and void, yet he’s still living with a deep wound that has not been healed or treated.

We’re Talking a Starbucks Boycott, Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Starbucks “mutually parted ways” with the manager, named only as Holly, who called 911 to report that two men refused to leave the 18th and Spruce Street location on last Thursday. Another patron uploaded cell phone video of the men being arrested, saying the two men were racially profiled.

Starbucks, is facing fierce criticism after two black men were arrested at a Philadelphia store, sparking accusations of racial profiling over what the company’s chief executive now calls a “reprehensible” incident.

In a statement, their CEO Kevin Johnson gave his deepest apologies” on Saturday to the two men who were taken out of the store in handcuffs by at least six officers on Thursday. SIX!!!! A store manager had asked the two men to leave after they attempted to use the bathroom without purchases. The men said they were waiting for a friend, their attorney later said. The manager then called 911 for assistance.

The police confrontation was captured on a video that has been viewed more than 8 million times on social media, fueling a backlash and drawing responses from the city’s police commissioner and mayor.

This is about racism and racial profiling.

The “March For Our Lives” Will it Change Anything?” Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Nikolas Cruz, who had been expelled form the school, opened fire there.

The shooting that took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida wasn’t it’s first in history and will not be the last. As long as the purchase of firearms are so freely obtained in this country, history is deemed to keep repeating itself. But is it the firearm that is so freely obtained the issue? Or the action which drives the person using the firearm? Which of these scenarios is the issue of discussion this country should be addressing?

School shootings, church shootings or public shootings seems to be the norm nowadays with personal gripes linked to mental illness being spilled into society.

There are civil demonstrations expressing outrage and pleas to lawmakers that fall on deaf ears? So how do we expect change? How does the strategy to change laws become the conversation for action?

This is Woman’s History month and we need to conversate about words which motivate and empower women to excel on a daily basis. In reality we are not always on top of the world and everyday activities can become mundane and draining at times. So this week on “Conversations of A Sistah” I want to talk EMPOWERMENT!! Words that invoke, delight, motivate and EMPOWER you and/or others. “Why Black People Don’t Support Black Businesses” Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

It’s Black History Month and we’re covering all subject matters Black!!

Even history books can confirm how long black people have been in competition with one another. Divided by skin complexion as house and field Negroes, we were forced to create segregation within our own race. Trickling down from generation to generation, black people seem to still embody this desire to compete and tear one another down. Could this be why black people don’t support each other?

The Mexican, Asian and Chinese cultures will come over to the United States and perfect their crafts just to return back to their countries and give back. They continuously support their people in any endeavor they attempt to pursue. Unlike other races where they are prideful of their people no matter what the socio-economic status or difference in skin complexion is, black people rather separate the haves and have-nots within their own race.
