What does “The Resurrection” mean to you? Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Resurrection Sunday 2014 was celebrated on April 20, 2014.

The Easter message begins with the hopeful news that death has been overcome by life, that hatred has been overcome by love, and that sorrow has been overcome by joy. Some cities in the US stage the passion of Jesus Christ through plays and holds Easter parades as well.

However, Easter Sunday has many different meanings for some and by the worlds terms, it’s a celebration of chocolate Easter bunnies, Easter baskets and Easter egg hunts. These are fun activities for children but are parents teaching their children the truth about the true meaning of Easter Sunday?

In all actuality Resurrection Sunday has absolutely nothing to do with the Easter bunny, baskets, candies or the eggs.

My question to you…What does “The Resurrection” mean to you? Regardless of your theory, I will tell you the TRUE meaning of Easter Sunday tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via “Conversations Live“.

See you on the air!

Nun gives birth but didn’t know she was PREGNANT!

Pregnant Nun

A Salvadorean nun who said she had no idea she was pregnant gave birth in Italy this week after being rushed to the hospital because she felt stomach cramps, Italian media reported on Friday.

The 31-year-old Nun, who did not know she was pregnant, subsequently gave birth to a nine-pound baby boy.

The nun, who took a vow of chastity, was quoted as saying: “I did not know I was pregnant. I only felt a stomach pain,”

The boy has been named Francesco (Francis), the current Pope’s chosen title.

She belongs to the “Little Disciples of Jesus” convent near Rieti, which manages an old people’s home.

And although her fellow nuns are “very surprised”, she’s said to be keeping her baby.

Thanks to my auntie Olivia for the story heads up!

Fox News Anchor believes Santa is white and Jesus is too!

Fox_Jesus

While I’m not into the world’s factious beliefs that Santa Claus is the reason for Christmas and don’t buy into the pagan role that he supposedly plays in society. I also know that Santa Claus is a fictional character who can pretty much be depicted in any way imaginable. Jesus on the other hand, has been portrayed as a white figure with blue eyes and long hair since the creation of art however, I know better and that is…Jesus surely isn’t white.

Fox news anchor, Megyn Kelly, apparently believes otherwise which is why she so boldly declared that both Santa Claus and Jesus were/are white. The misinformed anchorwoman is both ignorant and oblivious; she is certainly lacking knowledge and truth concerning the Biblical scriptures when it comes to the description of my Savior.

And while many people have these fixed mental images of Jesus pushed on them, drawn from different artistic depictions, these images often conform to stereotypes which are not grounded in any serious research on the historical Jesus, but are based instead on second and third hand interpretations of spurious sources.

For the record… in the book of Revelation 1:14-16 it states:

His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

I guess it should have also dawned on Miss Kelly that race is still an incredibly volatile issue in this country and she made herself and the “powerful” channel that employs her, the victim.

On Friday, Kelly defended herself at length, saying that she had fallen victim to a bunch of “race-baiting” Fox News haters who couldn’t take a joke. Yeah right! They always want to hide behind the “it was a joke” defense, when they want to incite what some racist would like us to believe otherwise.

Fox news always want to recant their statements when they are bombarded with the backlash of their ignorant, one-sided and insensitive comments on the air.

Black Pastor Requests White Greeters at Church Doors!

freedom-house-pastor-makeda-550x293

An African American pastor of a Charlotte, N.C. church came under fire recently for requesting “white only” greeters at the front doors of the church.

Pastor Makeda Pennycooke of Freedom House Multicultural Church sent an email blast to the members of her church asking black members not to serve as greeters on Sunday mornings at the 9 a.m. service, the Atlanta journal Constitution reports.

The dread-locked pastor made the unusual request to attract more Caucasian members to the church. In the email, Makeda wrote “first impressions count,” and she wanted only “the best of the best on the front doors.”

From the AJC.com:

Some members of Freedom House Church in north Charlotte expressed outrage after receiving an email from their pastor Makeda Pennycooke asking people of color not to serve as greeters at the 9 a.m. services, according to a report in huffingtonpost.com.

Pennycooke, an African-American, said in the email that “first impressions matter” and that the congregation wanted “the best of the best on the front doors,” according to the report. “So we would like to ask that only white people be on the front doors,” the email reportedly said.

According to a WBTV report, members angered by the email said the pastor of the diverse congregation hoped white greeters would attract more white members.

After the firestorm, the pastor and church leadership apologized for the email.
