Mississippi town stunned by murder of openly gay mayoral candidate Marco McMillian

mcmillian1n-1-web
Marco McMillian was considered by many to be a man on the rise. The first openly gay mayoral candidate’s body was found near a Mississippi River levee Wednesday morning and stunned residents of his hometown in Clarksdale, Miss.  Authorities are investigating McMillian’s death as a homicide but declined to speculate on the cause of death. Authorities have also said a person of interest was in custody, but released no other details about his murder.

McMillian was a highly respected person in town, the 34-year-old Democrat wasn’t running what many would consider a typical campaign for political office in Mississippi, which is known for its conservative politics.

McMillian, was not only nice looking but he was promising. He had forged ties while serving four years as international executive director of the historically black Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. Photos on McMillian’s website and Facebook page show him with a younger Barack Obama, former President Bill Clinton and with U.S. Rep. John Lewis, a Georgia Democrat.

Authorities had been looking for McMillian since Tuesday morning when a man crashed the candidate’s SUV into another vehicle on U.S. Highway 49. McMillian was not in the car.

McMillian was hoping to win the office being vacated by Mayor Henry Espy Jr.

“No Warning” as LAPD Shoot 2 Women in Manhunt for Cop Killer

Los Angeles law enforcement officers with itchy trigger fingers shot up the wrong pickup truck during a massive manhunt for cop killer Christopher Jordan Dorner, 33.

Two women were hospitalized with serious injuries when LAPD officers mistook their pickup truck for Dorner’s and opened fire.

The attorney for Maggie Carranza, 47, and her mother, 71-year-old Emma Hernandez, said the women had “no warning” before their truck was riddled with bullets as they delivered Los Angeles Times newspapers around 5:15 a.m. in Torrance, CA.

“There was no warning. There were no orders. No commands. Just gunshots,” attorney Glen Jonas told CBS Los Angeles.

The case of mistaken identities seems to confirm suspicions that police have been given “shoot to kill” orders in their hunt for the LAPD officer.

Dorner (pictured above) is accused of killing a couple over the weekend and opening fire on four officers early Thursday, killing one and critically wounding another.

Cal State Fullerton assistant women’s NCAA college basketball coach Monica Quan (pictured above) and her fiance Keith Lawrence were found shot to death Sunday in their car in a parking garage in Fullerton, Calif. Quan is the daughter of the former LAPD police chief.

The ex-Navy veteran wrote a detailed online posting targeting police officers and others who he blamed for his wrongful termination from the LAPD.

The Devil dwells where God is absent!!!

elementary-school

A deranged gunman opened fire inside an elementary school in Newton, Connecticut yesterday, leaving at least 28 dead, including 20 children.

The shooter, 20-year-old Adam Lanza, went from classroom to classroom firing randomly, shooting children and school staff before turning the gun on himself.

Lanza shot his mother in the face at their CT home before driving to the school and opening fire on teachers, the school’s principle and twenty (20) innocent children.

Police say the first 911 call reporting gunfire at Sandy Hook Elementary School came in at 9:41 a.m. Hundreds of federal and local law enforcement officials responded to the scene.

Worried parents also rushed to the school to pick up their children. Frightened children were told to keep their eyes closed as they were led out of the school by teachers and parents. The school holds 600 children.

President Barack Obama was briefed on the situation at the school. Spokesman Jay Carney said the White House had “enormous sympathy for families that are affected” and would “do everything we can to support state and local law enforcement.”

The suspect reportedly used a .223 caliber assault rifle. In addition to the assault rifle, 2 handguns were recovered at the scene. The massacre is the latest in a shocking history of school massacres in America involving high-powered weapons.

The number of dead exceeds the 13 students and teachers killed during the Columbine High School massacre in 1999. 2 shooters were also involved in that massacre. At the time, Columbine was the worst school shooting in American history, until now.

With just a week away from Christmas, the devil crept into the community of Newton, CT and stole the joy of Christmas from parents and children and changed their lives forever. When you take prayer out of schools, you open the door for the devil to walk in.

Please remember: The devil can’t dwell where the spirit of the Lord is!

Man killed in broad daylight on NY Street

brandon-woodward-video-still

The NYPD has released a photo taken from surveillance video just moments before a man was gunned down on a busy New York street in broad daylight Monday.

Witnesses say the man shot Brandon Lincoln Woodard in the back of the head, then calmly hopped into a waiting SUV, with a driver behind the wheel. The light-colored Lincoln sedan headed east before getting stuck in traffic just yards from Woodward’s body.

But the assailant and his driver did not panic. The SUV idled at a red light until traffic cleared and then disappeared down 7th Avenue.

“There was no rush,” NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said of Woodard’s killer. “He just walked up, shot him and walked away.”

The assailant, described as a bald black man with a beard, walked up behind Woodward on 58th Street between Seventh Avenue and Broadway at about 2 p.m., and fired a single shot into the back of his head.

In the photo, Woodward appears to be checking his cell phone before he was executed.

Witnesses who heard the gunshot scattered in all directions. Several witnesses rushed to a nearby fire station to report the shooting.

“I just heard a gunshot. It was loud. There was blood all over his face,” said David Mirambeau, 29, a UPS worker. “He was gasping for air. He was still alive.”

Police recovered a single shell casing in the street near Woodward’s body.

A police source told the NY Post the shooting was “definitely a hit, an assassination.” Police are investigating the murder as drug connected.
