Whitney Houston’s mother Cissy Houston breaks her silence regarding the upcoming Whitney Houston biopic directed by Angela Bassett on Lifetime television.

Cissy tells ET:

“Lifetime has chosen to go ahead with the movie about Whitney in spite of my family’s objections. No one connected with this movie knew Whitney or anything about her relationship with Bobby.”

“In the two years since Whitney’s death, many people have stepped forward to speak about their close relationship with her. I find it difficult to believe people who knew and supposedly loved her would participate in a movie about her done by folks who didn’t know her. We are exhausted by the continuing misinformation and comments offered by people who did not know her. Please please let her rest.”

Bobbi Kristina, not happy with Cissy’s tell-all

Whitney Houston‘s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown has slammed her grandmother’s tell-all book about her late mother and vowed never to read it.

Houston drowned in the bathtub of her Los Angeles hotel suite on the eve of the Grammy Awards last year, and her mother Cissy Houston has penned a book, Remembering Whitney, detailing her side of the story and her memories of the superstar.

But Bobbi Kristina, Houston’s only child from her marriage to RB singer Bobby Brown, has spoken out to publicly distance herself from her grandmother and urge fans not to purchase the book.

Now why do this publicly? Why communicate through the media? Bobbi Kristina’s actions further confirm that she had no real relationship with her grandmother. And just like Whitney distanced herself from her mother because she didn’t tolerate the drug abuse, that second generation curse is being relived by her daughter. It’s obvious Whitney didn’t teach her daughter to respect her grandmother. Even if you disagree with her, you never do it publicly.

In a series of scathing messages on her Twitter.com page, the reality Tv star has announced that she and her rumoured boyfriend Nick Gordon, who was informally adopted by Whitney, don’t support the book.

She writes, “Anything concerning my grandmother’s book, I and @nickgordon of course personally have nothing to do with… I haven’t read (it) and won’t… I find it to be disrespectful to my mother and me being her daughter won’t tolerate it (sic).”

This situation is a mess!!!! And the fact that it’s being hashed out publicly is tacky and dysfunctional.

Cissy Houston Out Promoting Her New Book

Cissy-Houston-Book

Just two weeks shy of the anniversary death of her daughter Whitney Houston, Cissy Houston is making her rounds promoting her new memoir, “Remembering Whitney”.

The elderly mother of the late singer makes no qualms about how she thought Bobby Brown wasn’t good enough for her daughter.

“I tried to tell Nippy [Cissy’s nickname for Whitney] that I didn’t think Bobby was good for her.”

Cissy not only disses about her feelings regarding Bobby, but she chimes in on Bobbi Kristina as well. Bobbi Kristina is said to be a bit upset about how her grandmother writes of her worries that Whitney’s only child could possibly be lured into the trap of addiction. It’s well-known that Cissy Houston has been unhappy with stories about Bobbi Kristina’s hard partying — and allegations of drinking and drug use.

And although Cissy wrote the book as a loving reminder of what a great talent Whitney was, she also don’t want the way she died to define how she is remembered. Unfortunately “it will” because Whitney gained the world, only to lose her soul to drug abuse.

Cissy’s interview with Oprah airs tonight on OWN. Check your local listing for detailed show time.
