“John J. College Graduate Killed Over $20.00 Loan”

Kamisha Richards (pictured above), was stabbed to death by Kayla Henriques, pictured below.

Richards had recently loaned Kayla the sister (of her boyfriend) $20 to buy disposable diapers and milk for her infant – and became angry after learning the money was spent on other things.

The two then exchanged online insults through Facebook over the weekend, then the harsh feelings escalated through a series of text messages…

Kayla waited for Kamisha to come home from work last night, then stabbed her to death. Kamisha Richards was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Kamisha Richards worked for JP Morgan Chase, her family said, and had hopes to apply to law school in the fall.

This story is not only sad and senseless but tragic in every sense.

    Someone gives her money to buy Pampers and milk, but why take care of the kid when there’s something she wants to buy for herself?

    1. I’m wondering how intense the argument was. I think what I would’ve done is after I found out the money wasn’t spent on the baby, I would just never lend her money again. Simple. I understood the anger, but sometimes you just have to control yourself. Stay silent and move on. It’s sad that she got killed from trying to do good.

      3. This is terribly sad. Kamisha seemed to be on the right track and had a bright future ahead of her. When it comes to money, I never lend out my last to anyone and I never lend out more than I could afford to lose. If I am not paid back in a timely manner or as agreed upon- I cut financial ties to the the individual.

  52. R.I.P to the young lady who pa.s.s.ed away. I know that feeling of trying to help someone, only to be disrespected in return. You had a good heart and no one can fault you for that. You tried and that’s all you can do in this life.

    I pray for healing for her father and the rest of her fam. I can only only imagine how horrific and heart-breaking it is to lose a child. This is so sad.

    You Dang right, I would have been mad. I let u borrow money, u agree to give it back, and come to find out, u didnt use it for its intended purpose. Ratchet-Ness. This recession is REAL, and money is tight now and days. I’m pretty sure if she thought that the girl had the potential to stab her to death…further, I’m pretty sure that the ignorant chick didn’t foresee herself stabbing the girl in her chest…which brings my next point : in most cases, sh*t is NOT WORTH IT. Sometimes, u have to ignore, walk away and count it all loss because people ate crazy and anger leads to hasty actions and regrets. The situation could easily be reversed and the loaner stabbed the girl b/c she DIDN’T get her money back. If u are angry…go calm urself b/c when those emotions start running wild, its like an “out of body” experience, and u act in haste. A girl is dead, a girl is jailbound, a child lost a mother and two families are devastated…total cost: $20.00. Smh

    1. It sounds like an overheated argument that evidently got out of hand. At times we need to stop & think about the things we cannot change. Although the girl was wrong for spending the $20 on something else other than the pampers & milk it should have not escalated to the point of death. When someone does me dirty like that I usually use that moment as a lesson. The way I see it – it just took $20 for me to never ever deal with this person again in life. We all should take this moment to realize how bad an ugly a stupid argument can turn into. It is so sad a beautiful educated young lady who could have done so much in life is now gone. The woman who committe the henious act will probably never be the same again as well. RIP
