“GA Mayor: Showing Your Drawers Is A Crime”

Pants on the ground! Pants on the ground! Lookin’ like a fool with your pants on the ground!

A Mayor in Dublin, GA has officially made saggin’ pants a crime and all offenders will be fined $200.00 per offense.

The law would prohibit the wearing of pants or skirts more than three inches below the top of the hips, exposing the skin or undergarments.

Police will be left to enforce the law, but skeptics wonder if they are supposed to run around high school parking lots with tape measures in hand looking for violators of the three-inch rule.

City officials hope that a simple warning for kids to pull up their pants will be sufficient, but we all know that there will be at least one kid (and likely more) who will push the law to its constitutional breaking point by getting arrested and fighting the ticket in court.

Some people are already complaining that the law will be used to target young black males. Well, a quick visit to just about any mall will tell you that young white males model just about everything they see from their black counterparts, including saggin’. So it’s up to the community to make sure that young black boys aren’t the only ones getting pinched for this infraction.

Do you think the mayor is doing the right thing? Because I’m hoping this law will spread, especially since I’m offended when I’m forced to look at someone’s ass from sagging pants.

What is your thoughts on this matter?

  1. Although I agree with the sentiment about the pants how can you tell someone how to dress? Your infringing upon their rights.

  6. Love it!!!
I just wish that it was a law outside of school also. They are preparing the students to dress like young men and young ladies. I just wish more would stand up an take notice.

  7. It’s a good law to place on the books, however, it doesn’t hit the core of the problem. The problem is not the individuals wearing the clothes in a disrespectful manner, it’s the parents that allow them to venture outside looking like that so if i had the ability to enact such a law I’d fine the parents and you better believe that once they receive the first $200 fine they will address that person living in their home.

  8. What is the “fashion statement” when you’re unable to WALK, without pulling up your pants ever 30 seconds?

I’m all about freedom of expression (including fashion), but these dudes look stupid.

I’m also tired of seeing a$$es (literally) on the train 😦

  9. I think we need to teach our young women Not to encourage this behavior by dating these guys & letting our sons walk out the house like this! No you don’t have to walk around like urkel but you can look cool & have your pants pulled up. Its called maturity & self respect. I wish a man showing his drawers would approach me let alone my daughter!

  12. I agree with you all, except the one idiot who thinks its a bad law.

I also would like to add that in my day the 80s, guys would never allow another dude to see his azz. Now you have all these so-called thugs walking around with their azz out for all men to look and stare at. And then they have the nerve to call other people GAY. LMFAO!

  13. I don’t live in GA but YESSS!!! I’m so tired looking at these men advertising, it’s just sends a message the wrong message, if they research where this trend started they’d pull them up themselves, gay men in prison letting other men know that they’re available, I mean is this the message you wanna send, it certainly not fashion.

  14. Tracy,
please get out of my head girl. Me and my cousin was saying this all summer. You cannot believe how many thugs walked around in tight briefs with their pants sagging under (yes I said under) their cheeks. I saw so many guys eyeing them as they drove by / walked by. And this did not seem to bother these thugs.

  15. This is why I always raise my eyebrow when I see a thug calling someone gay, or talking about gay guys. Because here you are with your a$$ out for even gay guys to see, and you don’t care. I think they secretly want gay men to look at their butts. There is no other excuse. A thug was never into fashion before, so that is a poor excuse. You all have some gay in you, so you want to show your goods. And if that is what it is then admit it, and stop calling people fagz.

  16. Yessss enuff is enuff. That is where it came from. So you see, thugs are dumb. They use the “N” word, when it came from a horrible place. And now they are adapting sagging their pants and showing their cheeks, when it came from letting a prisoner know you want some dyck in your cheeks. Wow

  17. How can someone’s dress be a crime? I dig the whole concealing of the underwear and skin, but there are people walking around with horns, split-tongues, and full body lizard skin tattoos but that’s ok? I can go to a plastic surgeon and botch my face, grotesquely, into an alien or a cat and sagging pants is illegal? Gtfoh that’s some racist shit right there.

  18. @Lord D,
    Why is it racist?
White boys sag too. and regardless of your race if your pants sag yo ass going to jail.

    I’m glad!

  19. They should add to the list thong or crack exposure. I see more female underwear or lack thereof than men. Guys wear skinny jeans, is that not offensive to see a peen wedged in some tight purple jeans?

  20. Why just young black men, skinny jeans are as disgusting as the women’s underware too.
    You got to ban everything….

Nobody said it was just a black thing. It’s the law!

  21. This is stupid…sagging jeans is not what is causing the high crime rate in the U.S. People are getting killed and raped, and now the police are going to focus on someone’s clothing…That’s just stupid! This just gives them one more reason to NOT do their job. SMH!

  23. I find nothing wrong with creating new styles or ways of dress but this was just plain wrong.

I am tired of seeing it and the real way your supposed to dress come back, maybe our young black men will take more pride in themselves, their environments, their communnities, I really do believe that this form of dress has a lot to do with negative mentalities, they need to go back to school, literally.

  24. Yep, you have the right to dress as you wish.

    Freedom!

Keep that in mind when you don’t get employment. This is their wardrobe. Not a suit in sight.

  25. LMAO, you are obviously one of the DL Blk men who want to keep showing your butt to men, as a secret way of telling them you are down. You r fooling no one.

  26. Males wearing sagging pants is so gay ,its like an invitation sayin “cum on in”. I can’t understand mentality of this being remotely cool. Fact- your attire has an effect on your behavior. Ever notice the difference in how you feel when your dressed up vs looking run down. This is a great step/effort.

  28. How you wear your clothes should not be the mayors or any other parts of government choice. Our freedom is being taken away from us little by little. First they are attacking the people society sees as not right. When they are finished with them guess who is left to mess with, the great citizens of this nation! People stop trying to live life for other people and live your own life. This is just the beginning for what is more to come, the government taking over your lives!!!

  29. Great! All this pants-sagging crap is nothing but a promotion of gay prison culture!

Going back to the 80′s I remember gangsters saying that if a man sags his pants in prison that means he is a “bottom,” no straight man in his right mind would walk around in prison with his ass out asking to be raped.

  30. Young people do not know the true meaning behind sagging pants. It comes from prison culture. It also means your another man’s bitch and property and if more people knew that they wouldn’t be sagging their pants. This nonsense needs to go out of style and quick.
