Lorenzen Wright, former NBA player for the Cleveland Cavaliers, was remembered yesterday at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tenn., as a devoted family man with a love for his 6 children and a deep affection for his community.
Wright was last seen alive on July 18 leaving his ex-wife’s house in Memphis, later his dead body was found riddled with bullets in a wooded area in Memphis on July 28.
On July 19 a call was received from Wright’s cell phone at 1:00 a.m., the caller was speaking with the dispatcher when several gun shots rang out. Police have ruled his death a homicide and an investigation is ongoing.
Friends assist Sherra Wright (below), the grieving ex-wife of the slain NBA player, as she approaches the casket during a memorial service at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tenn. yesterday. Sherra’s home was searched by investigators on Sunday, they were focusing on a fire pit in her backyard.
Nearly six weeks before Wright was shot to death, Sherra claimed, she was confronted at her home by three gunmen who were looking for him. Fearing for her life if she spoke, she waited until Monday to tell the authorities of the incident. She has not been named a suspect in her ex-husband’s death.

As sophisticated as these cell phones are nowadays, they still can’t tie
them into the local 911 service. I know this from first hand
experience. I dialed 911 from my cell once and the cops NEVER showed up.
I came home and one of my windows was partly open and it scared me so I
called the police. I had to get a friend to
come over and walk through my house with me to make sure no one was
inside. It turned out that the little catch that you twist on top of the
window to lock and unlock it had broken. Thank goodness that’s all it
was! A lot of people only have cell phones nowadays for economical
reasons, but it’s a good idea to have a landline service just in case.

I think it’s a rumor that he was totally broke. He was ordered to pay around $26,000 a month in spousal and child support. I doubt the judge would order that much if he didn’t have the income to pay it.

I agree with you 100%. If what she said really happened and she told her lawyer, the first thing he should have done was to advise her to call the police. Seems to me that she was trying to form some sort of an alibi through her lawyer. Who knows, maybe he’s in on it and that’s why she called him and not the police. Makes no damn sense to me.

If I know that men came looking for my husband and I was in the house he wouldn’t be coming back cause then he’s putting the kids and myself at risk. There’s more to the story. They also said that one of the reasons he divorced her was because she started using crack. I’m not feeling the “men with guns came to my door” but I didn’t want to say anything to the police cause I was scared” statement. The whole thing is shady, but it’s a sad state of affairs today – these kids left without a father probably over something that makes absolutely NO sense.

It was reported that the neighbors saw a large fire burning from Mrs. Wright’s BBQ Pit on the night after Mr. Wright went missing. The neighbors indicated that they thought it was strange, esp. since it was at that point one of the hottest nights of the year.

I would be scared as hell to sit in the house with this lady. To me she is dangerous, i hope someone is watching out for the kids. Everyone with common sense knows she is the only one with a motive, why would Lorenzen have his kids there if 3 men came over looking for him. Better yet, why would he not dial 911 from the house (or in route) if he was taken from there against his will ? This is the setup
1. Lorenzen was lured over (promise of taking the kids back to ATL)
2. The accomplices and the wife turn on him as he gets comfortable in the house (a made up arguement to get him to take the first ride out of there)
3. They tell him he has to go to his mom’s place
4. The 3 of them along with Lorenzen leave their residence heading taking him to his mothers
5. They take the short cut
6. Abruptly they stop and tell him to get out
7. An arguement begin, they pull weapons
8. They shoot, hide the body, come home burn evidence
9. The accomplices leave and say “lets not communicate”
10. She delays in reporting him missing, or try to downplay his disapperance
11. She uses the fake tears once its all in the open
12. Now, we all wait for the arrests !!

It has been said that he and his girlfriend have only been seeing each other for 3 weeks, not very long for jewelry and cars…not saying your wrong…just doubt it. Also, it is also “rumored” that he was trying to obtain custody of the kids, and that the ex-wife may have been involved in some “illegal” activities..
There are many rumors floating and quite a bit of speculation, we will all find out the truth soon enough… I may be wrong, but I find it difficult to believe the ex-wife was not involved somehow.

It appears the killer(s) were familiar with the area.
Could the 9-1-1 recording contain more than just 2 words?
What if other voices could be heard but not identified yet?
What if there was a female’s voice or someone’s name mentioned?
What about tire tracks & shoe prints @ the scene?
What about dirt or grass on someone’s car, tires or shoes that matches those @ the scene?
What if Lorenzen had scratched his assailant(s) and they’re waiting for DNA results?
Of course, investigators consider and know a lot more than us or the media.

His mom reported him missing and the ex-wife knew the entire time that 3 men was allegedly looking for him
For one I have a son and if some random person comes to my door, I am not answering, futhermore to not report it to the police is something I cannot fathom.
I guess she wasn’t scared for her life or her kids safety. Is she covering herself or someone because she is really guilty. We will never know who these three men are, if they even exist.
