“The Name Of Her Business Is”

Cynsible Creations, the proprietor’s name is ‘Cynthia Edwards’ and she’s doing great things!!!! Pictured above is one of her many fleece hats that I ordered/purchased, it’s called the Valentine Love Polar Fleece“.

<<<—Cynthia is a former native of my hometown Passaic, NJ and our families lived on the same block. Miss Edwards always had a love for sewing and fashion. Her business is a collection of her handmade fashions and crafts.

Cynthia’s motto is “It’s for the Fun, the Funky & the Fashionable.”

Below is another one of her fashion pieces “The Sassy Day Apron” (I like this one)…it’s 100% cotton, distinct and creative. I think the ruffles are cute and the style very flattering.

I love Cynthia’s style and admire her creativity.

You can check out more of Cynthia’s fashions at the ‘Cynsible Creations’ boutique or by clicking here! Cynsible Creations has also been added to the Ceo’s blogroll of favorites.

Let’s applaud Cynthia for being an African American pioneer, in her field of expertise~

While we should always support black businesses, lets especially do so during black history month…

“A Turkey Free Thanksgiving Dinner”

I was asked by many of you to post a write-up I did last year regarding my meal as a vegetarian on Thanksgiving day. Well as promised here it is, photo above and all.

This is my 10th year celebrating a Thanksgiving meal as a vegetarian and I might add, some people who “love me” have decided to give up their Turkey on tomorrow as well. LOL…

Trust me, shifting the focus from the bird to the rest of the meal can have a surprising effect on both your eating habits and the creativity of your cooking.

I always allow the vegetables to play a major role at the table from which I’ll dine and this is exciting to some who wish to add variety to their meal.

A turkey will be present and in the midst of tomorrow’s dinner, it just won’t be “the center of the meal”.

There will be collard greens, string beans, stuffing, cabbage, macaroni and cheese, yams, asparagus, broccoli, spinach, rice, baked potatoes, fish and that’s right; plenty or cornbread.

And just to think.., ten years ago, I thought being a vegetarian would make my holidays dull and boring but instead it forced me to be a better cook! And before you ask..”Yes I can cook”

Have a “Happy Thanksgiving” my CEO family….

Updated: “Yes Readers I have To Eat”

I dined at this seafood restaurant and bar last night (Wednesday) called Biggies.

This place was awesome!

The food was excellent, the ambiance cozy and its staff warm and welcoming.

My dinner date had the fried calamari and a couple of drinks, while I chowed down on the crusted tilapia and sauteed spinach.

The spinach was made just how I like it, sauteed to prefection, smothered in lots of olive oil and crunchy little garlic tips.

With big screen televisions throughout the place, it was raining men, who were glued to various games while snacking on an array of appetizers this place has to offer.

Located in Carlstadt, Hoboken and Asbury Park, NJ., their prices are reasonable and it’s so worth the trip.

“Biggies” is my suggestion for a realxed evening out and a warm place to dine.

When I don’t blog about a restaurant it is because I’m eating at the same places people.

So glad that I receive tons of email from some of you asking, “Where did you eat this week?” Truth be told, I’m frequenting some of my same favorite spots.

Last Friday night, I ate at Sylvia’s, Saturday night, dinner came to me and Sunday, a dinner party.

Trust me people, I will always keep you informed and privy when I dine some place new.

“I Sold This Apple iPad Today For $200”

Yes I did….when the retail value including all of its accessories were originally $1,053.00

I received the iPad 5 months ago as a (10 year in business) anniversary gift and hated it to the core! So parting with it was not in such sorrow.

The buyer of the iPad is thrilled to death, that I sold it so cheap; the gifter on the other hand, won’t share in the same sentiment I’m sure.

Humility is better than haughtiness, the rule to live by when dealing with me.

“Dinner On Saturday Night Was At”

Seabra’s Marisqueira.

A Portuguese restaurant, located in the iron-bound section of Newark, NJ, they specialize in fresh seafood and great entrees on a daily basis. Their portions are astounding and their prices very reasonable.

As an appetizer, I had a fresh baby green salad, while my dinner companions chose the fried calamari, shrimp cocktails and buffalo wings.

For my main course, I chose the grilled Tilapia, mashed potatoes and fresh string beans, my companions choices were; the portuguese codfish grilled with potatoes, whole red snapper grilled in a butter lemon sauce and the grilled salmon with mashed potatoes and green beans. All entrees came with yellow rice and a mixed vegetable.

There are several portuguese restaurants located in Newark, NJ., so in the midst of your choices I definitely recommend Seabra’s Marisqueira…you won’t regret it.

Friday night’s dinner was at one of my favorite places Thai Chef restaurant

I love this place y’all!!!!

Located on Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair, NJ. I’ve blogged about this spot once before.

This is the restaurant that has a chocolate souffle that is simply to die for!!!!

Anyway, by the time we got to this restaurant on Friday, I was so hungry, I almost ordered everything on the menu.

I had a salad as an appetizer, then my girlfriends and I, shared the fried calamari.

As a main entree I had the grilled chilean sea bass and OMG!!!!! This fish is so soft and tender, you’d swear you were eating a piece of meat. No lie! My fish came with the sticky dirty rice, it was way beyond delicious.

As a side, I also had the pad-thai noodles with shrimp…that dish is off the hook!!!

My girlfriends all had the curry shrimp with fried plantains and the sticky dirty rice.

So, I’m open for your restaurant suggestions, if not; I can eat at this place almost every week. 🙂

All (food) pictures shown above are not the actual dish.
