“His Critics are Outraged Over His Comment”

But that’s nothing new…U.S. president Barack Obama’s statements backing the construction of a Muslim mosque near the site of the World Trade Center disaster is being met with outrage from those who oppose the planned project.

At a dinner Friday celebrating the start of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, Mr. Obama said Muslims have a right, as a matter of religious freedom, to build a religious center near Ground Zero. “Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country,” he said to applause. While Muslim leaders praised Mr. Obama’s support of the proposed NYC mosque, proponents picked up on Obama’s lack of sensitivity for the families of the 3,000 victims of September 11.

Rev. Gregory S. Whelton, a pastor at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Sheboygan, said he believes Muslims have the right to build mosques anywhere, but he feels Ground Zero should be off-limits because of the circumstances of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

“To do it in light of what has happened, I’m not sure I would agree with that,” he said. “But as far as their right to do it, absolutely.”

“That’s Right, I’m Pissed Off Right About Now!”

By the hypocrisy, deceit and the concealed contempt, demonstrated behind closed doors by some of the spiritual and religious leaders of your communities.

I hope you are aware that, these same leaders are definitely not practicing what they teach and preach, yet they want you to accept an “idea” that they themselves are not living behind their closed doors!

They have one life and liberty with their public notoriety and fame, and the complete opposite behind closed doors; void of reprehensible consequences.

These same leaders, deceive, lead, yet continue to achieve. They wallow in their image, ride high in their arrogance, when they are fake as all hell at the core their being!

And some of you are fooled because they’ve maneuvered well in their game but my saving grace is this., “Be not deceived for God is not mocked” “For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap”.

That’s right, I’m pissed off right about now!!!

“Essence Magazine Hires White Editor”

And some of their readers are highly upset!

Fashion media personality Najwa Moses told CLUTCH, “How could such a prestigious title who is deeply rooted in its target audience let someone who is not even apart of the African Diaspora detonate our image?” She added, “How can a White woman dictate and decide what style and beauty is for the Black woman?”

However some readers feel as though Essence Magazine missed the mark on representing today’s black women a long time ago.

According to Charing Ball of the Atlanta Post, she think Essence don’t even needs a black perspective anymore:

“From the few issues that I had skimmed through during my monthly visits to the hair salon, I can tell you that I don’t think I am missing much. Unlike its history of uplifting and honoring the holistic experiences of the black woman, I began to find much of the magazine trite and full of regressive articles much inline with the Cosmo woman of the 18th Century (think Celia advising Harpo on how to handle his Sophia problem). And with the exception of a few featured articles, great covers editorials, and the recipes in the back, I find Essence to hold little relevance to this 21st Century woman of color.”

What’s your perspective on this issue?

“You Can’t Keep A Good Bitch Down”

“We makes bail” is what the “Ill Na-Na” rapper, Foxy Brown, told her crowd of fans that came to greet her, as she performed live at B.B. Kings Club and Grill on Saturday night.

Brown, whose real name is Inga Merchand, was arrested on Wednesday for bad-mouthing her nemesis neighbor, Arlene Raymond, who had an order of protection against her. She pleaded guilty to one count of criminal contempt – a felony – for violating the order of protection, which bars her from having contact with Raymond. Brown was released Thursday on $5,000 bail.

Brown was rehearsing at her home in Prospect Heights on Wednesday before her ugly encounter with Raymond, where this raunchy heifer lifted her skirt at Raymond during the incident.

If convicted, Brown faces up to seven years behind bars.

She’s due back in court on Tuesday.

“Prominent CEO From Atlanta Killed By Cop”

DeFarra Gaymon, pictured above, lived in Montclair, NJ and was home for his 30 year class reunion.

Gaymon was the CEO of a credit union and returned to NJ as one of the organizer’s of his 30 year class reunion, which took place Friday July 16.

Essex County prosecutors said, Gaymon was unarmed when he was shot in the chest by an undercover detective.

Supposedly, the undercover officer (whose name is not being released), was dispatched to the scene after complaints about sexual activity in Branch Brook Park. An area in the park known for homosexual activity.

According to the detective, who has not yet made an official statement to investigators, Gaymon was involved in an illicit act in public and ran when told, he was under arrest.

Gaymon who was married with 2 daughters and 2 sons and reside in Atlanta, was unarmed.

The undercover detective who shot unarmed Gaymon, was treated at University hospital and medicated due to trauma. Sounds fishy to me.

The investigation into last Friday’s shooting is ongoing, as Gaymon’s family seek answers for such a tragic turn of events.
