“Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony call it quits”

In 2004, J-Lo fell in love with Latin lover singer Marc Anthony — while he was still married to Dayanarra Torres (the couple had 2 children). Marc filed for divorce from his wife that same year and within months he and Lopez were married.

Torres said her ex-husband’s cheating devastated her: “I cried until there were no tears left — until I was numb.”

Today, Just one month after celebrating their seventh wedding anniversary, J-Lo and Marc have called it quits.

“We have decided to end our marriage,” the couple said in a statement to E! News. “This was a very difficult decision. We have come to amicable conclusion on all matters. It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”

        Isnt Ben happily married to the other Jen. I always liked her and Puffy and she seems to be the “love” of his life the one who got away Doubt that it happens but I have always held out hope for such 🙂

        Diddy and Jen are from the same type of background. I am guessing why people want them together. But it wouldnt work. Her family may not accept him and he is a big time womanizer

        Actually to me Marc was Jennifer’s rebound, after the humiliation and painful split with Ben Affleck (who I believe was the (only) man she has ever truly loved and NOT P Diddy like some implied); She needed someone who adores her and could give her some kids.

        Their marriage only lasted for that long because her career (before Idol) was a souvenir of the past so she had all the time to concentrate on her family.

        You can clearly see that he loves her and she loves being loved by him! Maybe for a time, it was enough but not anymore!

        I agree with you! But i always just thought that Ben was the ideal of what Jlo felt she should be married to. I can understand… Once upon a time i did too ( its a Latin thing) Lke when you got these goon azz goons who chase beck’s tryin to show that they came up, same thing.

        That being said, I have gone on to taste the mothuflucking colors of the rainbow. Black, white, puerto rican, Chinese, Russian, Swedish ERRRTHANG. I loves it.

At the Grammy’s this year they were sending the show into commercial or something (i forgot) and Jennifer made a joke and her husband shot her this evil look. Since she has been on idol, I’ve read “blind items” they have suggested he was a controlling drunk.

        I can’t see her getting back with any of her high profile exes though because they seem to have completely moved on

  9. I actually thought her career was over just prior to Idol. But the media spin doctors revived her back to life. They said she was the most beautiful something something or the other. Any who, she has her legs back. She is standing on her own. Because honestly it seemed like she needed him and the babies to bring her up, just an outside assessment. Now it’s all gone to her head. That’s how it appears on my tv screen.

  10. Marc Anthony strikes me as the stereotypical latin man. It takes a certain personality to handle that kind. Jennifer strikes me as the kind that no longer embraces that view. Hence a divorce was inevitable.

  11. I’m not surprise by this at all. What surprises me is that they were maried for so long. It’s only a matter of time before she move on to a new relationship.

    Jennifer, is the type of chick who has to have a man in her life to make her feel complete. We have all see how fast she move on to the next relationship after each divorce, and boyfriends freak ups.

  16. And this is exactly what happens when u play the role of a “mistress.” What goes around comes back around. Miss Torres is having her day. They all sing the same tunes (men/women) alike who step in or allow another 2 step in their marriage….no matter how long it takes, EVERY dog has their day. Despite marital issues, ie Separation u r still MARRIED. Close a chapter before u begin another. Alicia Keys mastered the art of singing a note but she never knew how 2 take notes. She & Swizz will b taught the same lesson.

  21. lo has her new Idol career, and he didn’t want nannies raising their kids. She rebelled and – POOF – marriage over. Nobody should stay in a marriage if there is no give AND take on both sides.

    If you are separated and have filed papers (esp a celeb that can take yrs) you are FREE to move on a date IMO. In a perfect world ppl wld/shld wait for the ink to dry on the divorce papers but neither ppl or the world are perfect.

  29. Jennifer is the modern day version of Elizabeth Taylor. She loves the idea of being in love but either falls for men who cannot love her back the way she needs or men who she can’t satisfy. Either way, I am rooting for her. Maybe she should try being on her own for a little while instead of jumping from man to man.
