Clarice Taylor, who played Bill Cosby’s mother on The Cosby Show, died on Monday at age 93 of heart failure. The Emmy nominated actress was surrounded by friends and family.
A performer on stage, radio, TV and film for over five decades, the actress was a member of the New York stage group, the Negro Ensemble Company, and helped to pave the way for African-American actors in the early 1960s.
Taylor is survived by her two sons, William and James, and her five grandchildren.

I remember first seeing Clarice Taylor on Sesame Street. She seemed to live a full life. She always conducted herself with such class and I admired that about her.
My prayers are with her family.

😦 So sorry to hear of her passing. Just last week my sister and I were talking about cooking a special dinner, when we thought and laughed when Ms Taylor was on Sandford & Sons. Her character was cousin Emma, slick, lazy and full of excuses for free loading off of Lamont while Fred was away. She promised Lamont “a nice meal” for about a week, yet she kept coming up with excuses after excuse with ailing back pain…lol… Lamont finally had to make up a reason to get her to packing…. Funny as hell.
